Why the hell shoot the same peice of paper 4 times. It tells you absolutely nothing about single shot pellet density. I've done hundreds of pattern tests, the best way is to just shoot 1 shell at 1 peice of paper....

Shooting multiple shots takes out room for error in the loads. Not all shells will be exactly the same. The 4 shots give a true representation of the choke and load. It would be better if you would shoot 10 shots but it gets to pricey with today's ammo prices.

      😂😂😂 don't be silly.
Just shoot 4 bits of paper & compare all 4 together. 4 shots on 1 piece tells you absolutely nothing at all.

Well this is pretty useless. When you pattern test a gun and or choke your looking for pattern density, distribution, and impact vs aim point. This doesn’t show any of those………unless you’re unloading 4 shells at a duck in 0.0010 of a second.

You do this to reduce the shot-to-shot variability, and give you a better picture of the average pattern. You are supposed to count up your pellets in whatever circle and divide it by number of shots and use that as the number for your pattern efficiency.

I would have to agree that shooting 4 shells really will hide gaps and hotspots in a pattern
