    Lennox fought at 38 against Vitaliy, and still he made a wonderful job. It wasn’t his mistake that the fight was stopped. He didn’t have much time to be able to keep his belts, and decided to retire as a winner. I can clearly understand him. Vitaliy Klitchko had the chance to knock him out and to steal his belts, but he couldn’t do it. Both fighters are greatest of the time.

      Because a 38 years old lennox who was out of shape and came out of retirement beat a young upcoming monster
      Also lenox was winning the latter rounds, you could notice that vitali gassed and that cut started affecting his perfomances
      He had about 16 stitches after the fight.... the referee saved his eye

    Lennox had nothing to prove, He beat everyone he ever faced, there was a new era coming through, He was clearly out of shape for this fight and apparently only had 10 days to prepare for vitali. He got out at the right time, and winning the fight or not the result was TKO.

    • @romanlegion2621
      @romanlegion2621 Před 2 lety +10

      Not. He escaped and then ducked Vitali. He faced an out of shape Tyson, a 37, 38 year old Holyfield, got knocked out against McCall and really didn’t average that fight (fluke TKO, McCall forfeited and had a nervous breakdown). And was chinny in general. He was losing on all the cards against Vitali who had two weeks to prepare for that fight (not surprised you left that out). Lewis was prepared. Spare me the excuses

      @Emir Bojanovic Ah, he was just in crack. Lewis didn’t really win that fight the way I’d want my fighter to win it. McCall quit before the fight. He forfeited it.

      He boasted before Klitschko fight that he was like a red wine and he was ready to take on more fighters with few more fights. He only changed mouth when it became mandatory that he must face Vitali again. He obviously ran away. I am a lennox lewis fan but the truth needs to be told. Vitali was too tough for lewis and the rematch would have been disastrous for him if he had given Vitali the rematch

      @@rominiyiolufunsho9724 Thank you, it's hard to find someone who isn't an idiot. Lennox is an incredible fighter and probably top 3 of all time. The only stain on his entire career imo is the fact that he didn't give Vitali the rematch. It was plain cowardly. He knew Vitali was beating him and Vitali could take his punches and not go down (Vitali ate one of the biggest uppercuts I have ever seen in that fight and didn't go down or appear to be too badly hurt). Vitali had the best chin in the history of boxing imo and was roughing Lewis up like no one ever did before. Vitali hurt Lewis a many times in that fight as well and they weren't lucky punches like Oliver McCall's and Rahman's. Lewis doesn't want to admit it, but it definitely was one of the hardest fights of his career and he knew the chances of him winning the rematch were extremely slim. He keeps using the excuse of, "I wasn't in shape." ,but Vitali took the fight on less than 2 weeks notice, plus Lewis was already preparing for another fight, so HE as a matter of fact had the advantage over Klitschko. As you said, his tone switched completely when he was asked to give Vitali a rematch and as Vitali said his mother probably had a lot to do with him running away from the fight. I guess no mother wants to see their son get beaten up, but I still think he should've given Vitali a fair shot. He always says it would be so easy to beat Vitali if he trained...then why didn't he just train and casually knock Vitali out in 3 rounds and settle all the rumours? He said he wanted to fight Mike Tyson because he didn't want questions asked about who would win between them, so why not just show the world you would win Vitali?

      @arukwevictor4629 technically, it's Joe Louis 1st and Wladimir Klitschkov 2nd. I made the response to the original comment comparing Lennox to Vitali. But there is no way Joe Lewis could compete against the modern day boxers.
      When it comes to Vitali. He only lost two fights in the pro heavyweight devison with the highest KO in history. His only two losses were via TKO. One because he dislocated his shoulder, and the second because of a weird punch that ripped not cut a serious gash above his eye, and the doctor made the right choice to stop the fight. They way Lennox went at Vitali was constantly targeting his eye, and permanent damage was a serious possibility.
      Not to mention, Vitaly has never even been nocked his feet. And two TKO he had, he was ahaid on all the scorecards...that's very impressive.

      @@faridabouhi9500 The ref\doctor made a decision to stop the fight. Such decisions are very arbitrary. Fury was allowed to fight Otto Walin with a cut…Klichko was winning convincingly Google compubox stats Lewis landed 102 punches Klichko landed 156 punches. Klichko threw more punches and landed more punches. Klichko was the more active boxer throwing 432 puncher while Lewis threw 222. Klichko was neither hurt or gassed unlike Lewis.
      The biggest indicator for me was Lewises decision to nit fight a rematch with Klichko despite loosing on points in that fight and getting a decisions win by the doctor/ref.
      If the cut did nit happen Lewis would have lost the fight. Everyone knew this and this is why the viewers in the arena awarded Klichko with standing ocasions and why Lewsi decided to nit have a rematch with Klichko.
