Thanks for the review, I'm really into costumer service as well, I don't mind spending the money, but I want quality and the company to standby their product!
Glad I saw this. Was going to buy one of their hoods for my Zl1. Now I'm not. And btw, in just the past few days I've dealt with them, their service has absolutely sucked.
I was thinking about doing that but the wiper hit the hood pretty good. Would need to raise it up a decent amount to clear it. At that point it would probably be noticeable higher than the fender
Well, short of going with a different hood, maybe there's a shop that specializes working with carbon fiber near you, who can bend up that section, to make it more like the stock piece. Or, maybe trim back the edge of the hood. The danger being losing the weave integrity, causing it to fray.
Had a similar experience with Anderson Composites. Not exactly customer support, but their products required some pretty major bodywork and even after that, it's still almost impossible to make it look like it was stock. Summary is looks good from far, but the detail is terrible, and I'm a detail kind of person too...
I also got a damaged hood(seems to be the norm) and they had me cut it in half and cancel my PayPal claim and I’m still waiting for them to ship my replacement hood...
I had bought a trunk from them, first time it came damaged on a straight edge that they claim was from shipping. Since I'm from Toronto, I had it shipped to Buffalo and picked it up a few days later and I could not get the shipping company to cover it because it was a late claim, my fault i guess. I get hit a few years later and now I get a new trunk from them. This one also had a crack on a flat surface and a resin defect on the edge. I'm sure the third time wont be a charm either.
Friend has their CF fenders on his focus ST...not 1 hole aligned to the point he had to make his own brackets to make it even bolt up. Never heard anyone complain until I asked, being a fellow ST owner I'm surprised I havent heard anyone else complain.
You might have forgotten to install the weather strip from the original hood. They don’t give you those parts so you have to take everything off your OEM hood and swap it. With the weather strip installed it sits up just a tiny bit higher. When they make these carbon fiber parts they just use a mold and basically glue layers of carbon fiber over each other on top of the mold. They don’t drill holes or anything like that. Each hood comes out exactly the same so from their perspective if yours didn’t fit; it was your fault because it got hundreds of other mustangs perfectly . I’s up to the installer to do minor drilling and swapping of OEM parts. Anderson Composite should have much better instructions that’s where the real issue lies I think.
I got 2 products from them and both have issues. I've heard similar complain from others as well. I got other parts from Trufiber and I never had issue with them.
I questioned this company because their next door neighbor is Seibon which is cheap chinese made hoods. Are they taking cheap made hoods and branding them with an american name to sell them at a higher price?
All Anderson has to do is watch a quick video off your phone..If the hood is seated correctly it's not rocket science. They have a glitch. Actually 2 glitches..Too bad ,the hood really looks good .Major improvement over the stock one.
If the entire part(your hood in this case) isnt an exact fit in all respects, then it's not a good product. And bad customer service, that just made up my mind. I was considering going with one of their hoods, not anymore. Thanks for the review.
I have a fiberglass Anderson Composites heat extractor hood on my 2016 Mustang, it is failing after about 25,000 miles. I live in the desert, its awfully hot. Temps above 100 most days from June to September. Sometimes up to 123 degrees. The seams have come apart. They roll over the fiberglass around the edges and whatever they used to stick it to itself has failed. I will be calling them in a few moments but having read their reviews on google and elsewhere, I do not expect any satisfaction from them. I see below Seibon and Anderson composites are the same exact company, and Seibon is said to be a cheap Chinese outfit. I love the look of the hood on my car, it really sets it apart from other mustangs. I will probably bite the bullet and have it repaired. I have read elsewhere that the carbon fiber hoods may be carbon fiber over a fiberglass backing, not solid carbon fiber as that would be way more expensive. Bottom line, you gotta pay to play. Play on Playa'. Thanks for the honest review.
The more research you do on Anderson Composites (Seibon), the more you hear accounts that they refuse to stand behind their products and will simply not believe that any of them could fail. Their typical response is to tell you about their manufacturing process, try to blame the shipping company, and finally reinforce that you should have had it professionally installed (although even if you do, they then blame it on the shop). Even in relatively public forums of large scale with the ability to make things right, they will not stand behind their products. Prior to hearing these things repeatedly, I always thought Anderson was absolutely top notch in terms of both products and as a company. The fact that they now produce OE products for Ford Performance gives off that appearance even more, but it will unfortunately mean that they view themselves as even more untouchable.
Dude, I gave you a thumbs up because I feel for you and your situation. You are being screwed by a company who disregards customer satisfaction. But you're too wishy washy on this video. Stick to the facts. Be the customer not a victim. Don't go 'kinda' recommending their product if your experience was as you say. Not saying you gotta go all ape-shit on them but this video leaves me questioning your objective. Say they screwed you and you don't like their options to remedy and you're putting it out for public opinion. Period. They could have just asked for video like you've shown here and that would satisfy most reputable companies. That tells me they are NOT.
My rule of thumb for carbon fiber is to stay away from companies that sell products labeled as "carbon fiber look" or "oem look". Either it is or it isn't carbon fiber and it either is or isn't oem fit. The vast majority of Anderson Composites parts are "oem look" because they are too lazy and cheap to get their hands on OEM parts to make the molds for a proper OEM fitment.
In order for a gt350 hood to fit the non gt350 cars you need hood, fenders, and a bumper. This is why it's just a " look " . You can't simply slap on a gt350 hood on your non gt350 car as it is a wider and longer hood.
Sounds like they are being fair and reasonable from a customer service point, they are offering to help you to resolve this. Maybe you need to stop whinging and ship it. Maybe you need to look at yourself and stop being unreasonable yourself
@@simonmillar9161 You're wrong, I have owned my own company. I would have quickly been out of business telling a unhappy customer to spend more money on a product they are not happy with.
You gotta realize these hoods arent made for a practical daily driver. I understand that once i get my hood i cant use my washer fluid again. Race cars are not practical nor comfy
Do you have a link to your dishonest reviews? Please don't confuse the words "honest" and "frank". When someone says "honestly" (over used) I am thinking, do you usually speak dishonestly?

Sometimes customer service is more important than the product...
Bro how long you wait to receive the hood . I buy one one week ago
most aftermarket hoods won't have washer mounts. People usually do a relocate kit for the nozzles that mount them to the actual wiper arms.
zackochronic this one has washer mounts. Just doesn't have the holes to hold the washer lines in place

Is that the gt350 style hood??
Good review. Thanks for the honesty. No one has money to throw away.
Can you shim the hood, so that the wipers aren't making contact?

I was thinking a lower profile wiper arm. But this shouldn't have to be done on a 1400 dollar carbon fiber hood, thanks for the review

American Muscle has a video showing where to drill, what size holes and fitment. And i also believe that hood was meant for a GT not a 350!
