The sound setup on this video is excellent, it really let's people hear the quality of the unit. And that includes the guitar and the guitarist! Good job.
I've found the GT1000 seems to be focused on producing really great tones much more akin to the sounds you get with an amp in the room. I've not switched on my real amps since I got the GT1000, through my monitor speakers it sound incredible as good as an amp in the room. The boss amp Models which aren't directly modelled on real amps sound amazing. For me I prefer it over the line 6 helix I had for a couple of years, it produces the tones I want with significantly less effort that the helix.
The screen is designed so that it can be seen easily in full daylight, so although it isn't as 'fancy' looking as some of its competitors but it's very very functional. In the same way as I can easily read my Kindle paperwhite in full daylight with no effort, whereas it would be extremely difficult to do that with a tablet/laptop or phone even with a top-end expensive screen.

The gt1000 core definitely has similar programmable processing as the mild low end boss gt-1. It looks easy enough to navigate as the gt-1.
I hope so, My gt1 bit the dust at a gig the other night after 5 years of heavy gigging. best 200 bucks I ever spent lol. I just ordered this one and you're right it is laid out pretty simple

12:50 this is actually the best demo on youtube on how you can use the core in a gig situation. I've been trying to decide if I should get the full-fat or the core, and the only thing that kept me from buying the core was the number of footswitches. This part of the demo clears all my doubts. You can basically assign each song to a patch, and you can have two sounds even in the memory mode. If you need 3 different sounds in a song, you can hit the 2 buttons at the same time to go into manual mode. That's more than I'll ever need for each song. Thanks Tom.
(Actually, is it SIX different sounds in manual mode? coz you have 3 buttons but 2 states on each button)
Honestly still not sold as Tom can plug into a damn $2 pawn shop bought toaster and still make angels cry.
I remember that processor had built in early days, in 1987 , cost over 600 hundreds dollars in my country 's.....many large sizes of different of processor mounting on a large rooms of regular use....cabinets

The GT-1000 Core is awesome but Tom Quayle can make a tin can sound awesome.
Its a great piece of kit and has really useful sounds but trying to get the micro USB for it to connect to a computer is virtually impossible. Roland /Boss even suggested the wrong item. They have customers but they dont care. It requires a micro USB that does not have a charge capability. The Helix comes with a USB that works and is included in the price.
You have it backwards, it requires a micro usb that has data transfer capibilities, charging capabilities has nothing to do with it, it's just one pin that is connected or not.
I enjoy my Helix but there's that feel and 'heft' that is difficult to describe.I have gotten towards it and it is a great machine.Aimed for that mastered song sound.

Buy a cheap di box. Thats what I did.
Can I choose any blocks and put them in any order , example 12 EQ BLOCKS 12 compressor or are they already fixed blocks example , the blocks says amp blocks can I change to EQ block ?
I use mine as a headphone practice amp.
Did you tweak anything or is this sound straight out of the box ?
You also can switch channels or effects with your picking dynamics as well.
This thing has some capabilities many don't know about. It can be as simple or complex as you like. I run mine into my amp return so I don't get any front-end coloring.

Is it possible to use the GT1000core without the amp and cab simulator? Because I would like to have my real amp sound when the GT1000core is turned on or off. I would like to use the GT1000core for effects only, like chorus, phaser of reverb in manual mode. So when I use an effect, for instance a chorus.. I would just like to hear the chorus going true my amp. So no amp and Cab simulation included.

Instead of posing this question all over CZcams, I should really be asking where to put my money down to get one of these units. However, here I go anyway. Presently, my preferred stamp box is from a Japanese manufacturer called rancher, the goat generator. I’ve got it because it comes closer than anything else I’ve had up to now to emulating the Boston guitar tone (better even then stuff that was built by Boston leader Tom Scholz). It’s great to know that a user could insert this pedal into the effects loop of this unit if desired. What I would like to know is if it’s possible to emulate this thing within the mainframe of GT 1000 Core. Is there a preset pack available online that is specifically meant for emulating the Boston guitar tone?
Tom how to set up the system on the stage. I would like to connect the effect to the amplifier and directly to the front house. In other effects, it is possible to exit before the speaker simulation - assuming the effects loop (dealy, chorus) before the speaker. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Why are there no subtitles?
I've looked through the manual online and cannot find the answer to my question, so maybe what I'm asking here is not possible. However, I thought I would ask here for anyone that knows the unit well enough to know for sure. I'd like to program one button/switch to activate 2 events at once. The events would be 1) amp channel switch and 2) patch change. Basically all I want to do is switch from a rhythm tone patch to a lead tone patch and have my amp also switch channels when going back and forth. I'm guessing IF this is possible, it would need to be done using 'MEMORY Mode'. Patch +1 (up) would also need to trigger the Amp Control channel switch function, OR could the patch itself execute this when it loads? I'm trying to switch my amp channel AND (Up) +1 User Patch with only ONE action. Then, the same when executing (Down) -1 User Patch with an Amp Channel switch. Thanks in advance to anyone with answers.

In every single demo and comparison video the GT-1000core has a harsh
and fizzy top end, not only with any kind of drive/distortion. How come it doesn't sound like that here?
It's can be dialed out via the Global EQ setting. I've learned that the GT1k is not a plug in and play affair. You'll have to trim off the highs and lows depending on the how and where you are using it. But it is rewarding when you dial it in right. I'm sure Tom eased back on the highs by 6.3khz and more on the global EQ here.
@@psychicsushizoid That's correct but there are only a few presets and models that sound this way, and most of the videos I watched manage to present the worst of them, like the terrible "British Stack" or the Rectifier particularly suffering from the highs. The other models and particularly the proprietary BOSS models on the other hand are just awesome - for example the "Crunch" model is an absolutely outstanding alternative to a Tone King style amp, very responsive, very sweet harmonics... I'm glad I bought the GT1kC despite all the other videos! :)

The way to approach this system is to think of it as a bunch of general amps and cabinets that you dial in your own take on a particular style and shape it to your own. It's what I absolutely love about this AIRD Roland/Boss Japanese aesthetic. It teaches you about how these things work and gives you the tools to define a personal shape. The Boss Core is brilliant. For myself I use the SS Katana Artist II physical output amp, the 1000 Cores default speaker emulation for that amp is sublime in it's sonic connection with the the physical amp. I started with the Axe FX ultra years ago, I still have it and use it but Boss in my pedal journey has become the center of my tone. It's I believe a Japanese cultural aesthetic that translate uniquely through their product line. It's a sonic ability to cut through the mix and be present and define your own tone vibe along the way..
@@xceowieo I'm still not a fan of the Marshall models but you can beat them into shape. But I found most of the other models can have some nice surprises if you really put some time into playing around with the settings and find their sweet spots.! :)

Couple of things aren't quite right with this - the Helix HX Stomp actually does feature the same processor as it's bigger siblings the Floor and LT, and does not feature a touchscreen as mentioned at 6:10 - it's the Headrush Gigboard that utilizes a touchscreen 🙂
While the specific SHARC DSP chip used in the Helix HX Stomp is the same as on the Helix LT and Floor, it only has a single DSP chip. The Helix LT and Helix Floor feature dual SHARC DSP chips. The HX Stomp has 1/2 the power, and is significantly limited in amount of effect blocks as compared to the full Helix Floor or Helix LT. This is not the case with the Boss GT1000Core, which has all the processing power of the full GT1000.

Helix stomp is underpowered. Main reason i didn't consider it as an option. Not the first time line6 released underpowered hardware. remember the weird line-up of pod hd-300, hd-400 and hd-500 (before the 500-x). All of those were underpowered in the DSP.
Effects processor, I see, boss , so cute 's...solid built .all in one ....Effects small-sized. Largest of easy, simple samples mode.....( since 1987 , I saw many processor issues Effects, are made by large groups multi mounting on a big groups of different types, of stuff , like a mini building,.....
All the old fellas out there will NEVER figure out how to use this. They can’t even use a smart phone. Thus the huge trade in stand alone pedals. Just keep telling themselves that those pedals are somehow better because they pay for them through the nose. Haha.
Yeah this is just ageism - those old fellas designed and but the computers and chips this lot is built on and with Much more limited resources landed man on the moon
As one of the olds, it’s a time thing for me. I don’t have the time to sit and experiment like I did BC (Before Children). That’s not going to stop me from buying one. The signal routing alone is worth the price of admission.
Add all the stuff like slo gear and the amazing boss amps? No brainer
