Thank you for the video. I found the drain for the radiator on the backside of the radiator on the drivers side. I believe I used a 17mm socket. It seems a lot less messy to drain from there, but your method works fine.
Thank u for the video. I drove 3 hours to Binghamton new york van overheating, made it up there. Saw ur video bought the thermostat and sealer and did the job myself. No more overheating and i know nothing about cars. Thank u again and have a blessed day
wow you are too good holding the camera one hand while working with other hand. i am not able to do this with two hands. make some videos (if possible ) with ford freestar 2005. i learn much while watching that detailed videos. like with vaccum system, brakes booster, ac compressor etc.
Thanks a lot! It's hard to find camera help around here so i learned to do it petty well at this point. Won't be any future videos of the Freestar though sorry, sold it.
fill it up, with heat on full, rad cap or reservoir cap left off until full warm up happens then you may need to add more coolant as the thermostat will then have opened, no need to crack and bleeder on this engine.
Thanks very much for the video. Not knocking the sealant but my 2007 just made 233,000KM with the original. I’m using the gasket. Thanks again!
You're welcome!

FrewSlinger:(
Tried not using the silicone and just used the paper seal. It leaked out. Goimg to redo it yomorrow with the silicone.
I have had no luck using paper gaskets on water pumps or thermostat housings, total garbage.
The Silicon won’t squeeze into the inside of the thermostat housing & cause issues?
Not if you don't use to much
En español por favor gracias
The petcock is on the driver's side with a 3/4 socket.
How do you bleed the air of the cooling system on this engine?
fill it up, with heat on full, rad cap or reservoir cap left off until full warm up happens then you may need to add more coolant as the thermostat will then have opened, no need to crack and bleeder on this engine.
It will self bleed
Let it sit for a hour buy the fucking gasket and be drinking beer paid by now
its same freestar 2005 3.9?
i believe the thermostat housing is right near that same location
4.2 is just a drilled out 3.9
