@@maxineb9598 Lots of countries do deals with other countries whereby someone jailed overseas gets transferred to their home country to continue their sentence there. (The USA has agreements with many other countries for that. I have no idea if NZ does.)

Canada does. There had been cases that were indicted in Canada for crimes committed in other countries. Mostly hate crimes and pedophile sex tourists. Canadian law does apply to Canadian citizens out of the country, although it is not common that it is applied, due to the complexity of investigation of such cases.
We all know what happened in NZ boys versus Thai Cop - NZ boys banned for life, Thai Cop retired, living in a mansion and driving a Ferrari,,, End of story!
And my own UK Embassy refused to even support me despite being physically abducted and held prisoner. And my mother works in Parliament!

Here's an idea for your next video Ben...is a higher standard of behaviour expected from foreigners than Thais? Plenty of examples.
But these guys are guests in their country my boy. If people don't like the way Thailand is, then they should not go there.

i can't remember a case where a thai doctor was assaulted by a thai citizen on her day off. could this be a case of a foreigner behaving worse then a local. i think so. in the case of the 2 NZ there nationality and status might have assisted them. had they been poor thai blokes then they could be languishing in gaol for a lot longer while their poor family is trying to raise money. so I think the case for foreigners been treated harshly or made an example is weak, even if there are a few examples.
Yes, the rule of law matters, that is if you don't have a good lawyer, money and connections.

Great fan you are one of Americans finest in Thailand i think people forget when you want 100 million tourists to eat,sh_t and drink than ask them to leave, because you have not educated alot of your people you want the money for god knows what????this short sided thinking that all tourists are pure as driven snow this is what you asked for instead of letting in more wealther people in who dont have crimminal records and getting software like palantir to screen everybody you will have better outcomes. God bless thailand!
