So to enter a bar in Pattaya you need a test administered by staff. So they are going to have hookers performing medical procedures ??? Amazing Thailand.

Excutive decrees are not debated legislative created laws. I respect laws. Decrees often need to be ignored as immoral.

Surly it’s because we are still under the emergency decree, so the government feel they have the power to do what they like. We need the emergency decree to end!

In Phuket, if you are a foreigner on a motorbike, the police will literally chase you down on their motorbike if you are not wearing a face mask and they fine you 10,000 baht to be paid on the spot. And this is not some random occurrence, this is happening everyday, this seems to be their new job!. Now that we know this is not a law, what are we supposed to do the next time the Thai police pull us over and demand $10,000 baht?

I also question is it braking the law to hand money to a police officer?
It's likely that money is not handed in along with papers... Not going on ones record would be great. But shouldn't there be a requirement to make payments directly to the court clerk? That's how it's done back home and makes much more sense to avoid corruption.

@@cruisingthethaiway6881 Last time I was stopped the officer made me put the cash under the seat of my motorbike , rather than accepting the cash by hand, then he reached into the seat compartment and slide the cash into his ticket book. What am I going say, “hey, take me to the courthouse!”?

I think they know you would have to employ a lawyer to fight your case and it would probably cost more than that,as you say what do you do,all i can think of is wear a mask.

@@TravelPhuket Really, 10000 Baht? I doubt anyone would pay that much. They're abusing their powers. 1000 or less, OK, but 10,000 is insanity. Secondly, why wouldn't you just ride away from them? They're Thai police, they'll give chase for 50 meters then give up.

@@HiHi-xy1qf I'd much rather give my money to a lawyer to fight this. I know one in Ubon who has successfully fought it and he and his family don't have to wear a mask anywhere. It is unclear whether the ruling applies only in that province or the whole country.

What?? I've never heard of a restaurant asking for an ATK test before entry. I recently went to a restaurant and there was nothing out of the ordinary, other than the staff wearing masks.

Is the law difficult to find because it isn’t written for the consumer patron, but rather is it embedded within the regulations of the SHA+ certification program it’s self. The License the proprietor of the business holds? I suspect the law is somewhere entangled within SHA+ system of laws of ordinances for Business owners.
