Excellent video! Installing it from scratch on the Odroid doesn't look too hard. Based on this video I am not sure it is worth waiting for the Blue version, if you are still trying to find it, just to get HA preinstalled unless you just dont want to deal with the handful of steps. Thats for the adding this perspective!

I bought the ODROID-N2+ and emmc 64gb. To flash HA, do I need the emmc adapter to flash HA on it or will be able to flash HA from ODROID-N2+ with the emmc 64gb installed?

After purchasing my ODROID N2+, for some unknown reason I couldn't get it to update to Home Assistant OS 7.0. Thanks to your demo I was able to manually get it done myself. Despite the instructions on the Home Assistant website I was still unsure about how to proceed. Thank you so much for this video. It saved my sanity 😂

Can I ask why you moved the switch to the SPI mode despite using MMC? I would've guessed you want that switch on "MMC" since you're using eMMC? Reading online it sounds like it's a moot point unless you're also attaching an SD card however - but just curious if I'm missing something.

Hi Eddie! I have/had an SD card in it before using the eMMC, potentially might be a mute point, but I documented step by step what I did:) which by no means is perfect!

Thanks for the great video! I have a question that possibly you can help me with. I was able to get an Odroid N2+ but it came without an eMMC card. The source I found (Ameridroid) has cards that are listed with colored dots and I'm not sure which one to purchase. It appears to me that the color scheme relates to the installed operating system (android or linux)?? Am I correct? So, in the case of installing the Home Assistant OS it really doesn't make any difference which eMMC care I get??? Also, the largest capacity they have is 64gb as 128gb isn't available. I'm thinking 64gb will probably be fine, since it's already twice the capacity of my current Raspberry Pi 3B+ setup with Home Assistant. So, thanks in advance if you can answer my questions, and I'll looking for more of your videos!

Hi Brittany! same happened for me: didn't realise that there wasn't an eMMC card. I purchased it with another order, I believe I got it with the android OS. Indeed it doesn't matter which OS as you are going to flash the device. 64gb sounds good, the price difference between 64 and 128 made me go for the bigger version. Thanks again for your comment

@@SmartHomeMakers My eMMC card came yesterday, and I'm going to attempt this project tomorrow. I found some printed documentation on the Home Assistant website which follow your path, however near the end of the page it speaks about enabling I2C, which you don't cover in your tutorial. It's a little confusing because it's talking about enabling I2C on a Raspberry Pi?? So, is it necessary on the N2+?? It's not something that I'm familiar with so, I thought I'd ask you why you didn't cover it. Thanks in advance!! ~Frank www.home-assistant.io/common-tasks/os#flashing-an-odroid-n2
