    In search of a car, I was comparing Honda and Toyota by test driving, watching reviews, asking advice, but then one evening I test drove a Mazda 3. I was surprised by the interior quality, comfort, and technology. I signed the lease that evening and drove the Mazda 3 home. I'm so happy with my car.

      @@XEpicJX I actually just had the Mazda 3 2.5L turbo premium plus package factory ordered around a month ago, so I did quite a bit of research (yuotube videos, reddit forums lol) on the pros and cons. I think you wont have too hard of a time finding out what people like about this car, but personally I had a very hard time finding cons, so I made a list of some comments that reviewers and random individuals on the internet have made about it, but keep in mind everyone has their own taste so a downside for one person might be an elite feature for someone else - -
      -
      bumpy drive (downgraded suspension from the last iteration of mazda 3), uncomfortable on long drives due to lack of soft spots to rest arms (though anyone who steps in the car comments on how soft and high quality the leather is), highest horse power comes from higher grade fuel (this is just a fact but important to keep in mind), back sitting space minimal w/ no technology or vents, no touchscreen for apple CarPlay, a lot of excessive beeping in the car when you enter/seatbelt warnings, etc (if you get pissed off over beeping probably will want to test drive), no fog lights, poor cruise control software, un-intuitive/poorly designed steering wheel buttons, overpriced for the performance, very dark interior during nighttime

      @XEpicJX Před 2 lety +2

      @@sakshammohan98 This was actually super helpful! I appreciate the cons list, it is easy to hear what people like so having a list of the annoyances is super cool.
      The other sedan style vehicle that has caught my eye is the new Kia Forte. It's competitively priced and seems to offer a ton of features others charge more for. The new interior design in my opinion is just below the Mazda 3.
      Having had just done research to make your pick, were there any other similar sized cars that were runner-ups?

    I actually really like that it sets the parking brake automatically. Even on a neutral slope, while the car is off it takes away pressure from brake joints and other parts which means less wear for the life of your brakes. I love Mazda, I have a 2014 and am just barely breaking 70k miles on it (I was in the military, so I didn't drive it much). I drove it cross-country back home when I discharged with absolutely no problems. I bought the car in 2018 at 61k miles so the previous owner did drive it quite a bit but took really great care of it! I'm honestly thinking of trading this one in for a more modern Mazda because they are such reliable and sleek cars.

    • @bioheart09
      @bioheart09 Před rokem +2

      Get some cr505 and expect this Mfka to get to 300k miles running like a top. If you replace trans fluid every 75k miles at worse, you can reach 300k miles without replacing the engine or tranny. And the stock suspension is GREAT, better then more upscale foreign competitors. Only issue is if you go up in power with the new Mazdas, they really crapped out on the rear suspension, mind you it's not bad, but it's a hard ceiling for handling with increased power.
      The skyactive is goated as hell.

Even with what would be considered an outdated suspension setup it still feels graceful and gentle. Very informative video. I have a 2019 3sedan, and thought about trading in for the 2021 turbo but ended up buying a 2021 CX5 Reserve turbo which I love. Reason I didn't get rid of my 3 is because it's AWD, and I recently drove from Pa to Fl and squeezed out 37.7 MPG. With these high gas prices I only filled up 3 x's going down to Fl and 3 x's coming back. 1100 miles each way. One thing I like that you were honest about is the interior room and the car in general. Most videos I've watched in the past 2 yrs has ppl that are over 6' trying to squeeze in the back seats, then saying it's too tight or telling you it's not that fast because it can't beat a BMW M2 from 0 - 60 for crying out loud. The car is what it is and you explained it well..

    I've had my leased 2021 3Turbo Hatch for 10 months and 10k miles. I agree with your review of the vehicle. I was shocked with the level of refinement, ride, power handling, shift quality from the trans and quietness...AT FIRST.
    Unfortunately, these cars truly have very little sound deadening, particularly around the wheel wells. By 5K I was noticing a notable increase in the highway road noise. By 10K the road noise was terrible. Like my 2020 Mazda 6 Grand Touring, the car came from the factory misaligned enough to cause tire feathering and highway straight-line stability issues. After an alignment and another rotate the noise is now acceptable. The real test came during the winter when I took it out in a rare snowfall here in Charlotte, NC and was SHOCKED at the extremely loud noise of the road slush banging on the wheel wells. I worked as a QC tech at a dealership for years and drove all makes of cars all day long and in the snow and rain also. I've NEVER experienced the amount of noise coming from a car while driving through slush or heavy rain like this car makes. My point being, as long as the tires are perfect or near perfect, it is quiet. As soon as those tires start to wear unevenly or you have to drive through heavy slush or rain, there is NOTHING to mute the noise.
    The 2nd negative I'm seeing is suspension damping degradation. This car now rides much different than it did when it was new. Gone is that smooth, fluid well damped feel, replaced with a lumpiness that suggests that the gas pressurization in the struts has since failed.
    It's still VERY fun to drive around town. But if you place great importance on quietness and greater longevity in regards to ride quality, a more premium brand may be a better choice.
    Oh, and with the recent increase of gas prices I'm no longer using Premium gas and the difference in seat of the pants feel is negligible. The reason being, the increase in HP and torque do not occur until after, I believe, 4800 RPMS or so. Unless you're really winding this thing out, and it's really not THAT kind of an engine, you're not going to feel any difference in power.

    I’ve got a manual one of these 3 hatches with the base 2.5, and I thought about one of these Turbo models but decided against it for a couple reasons. As you said in your last 3 Turbo review, manual is definitely more fun and it’s also important to support the manual new nowadays. But also, as aware as I am that Mazda’s a small automaker with limited resources, I do think they missed an opportunity here to make this more of a hotter hatch. That’s not to say I wish it was a Veloster N/Civic Type R kind of rival. I think this could have been a great, say, AWD Japanese GTI in the balance between luxury/comfort amenities and driving enjoyment. This leans a little too much toward the former for me. And think about what happened the last time Mazda offered a quality, reliable, Japanese interpretation of a fun, sporty European icon. That recipe sound familiar???😏 I really think that could have been a hit for them, and I confess myself a little bit sad at this premium comfort/luxury angle Mazda’s taking and all the edges they’re smoothing over. We’ll see how it works out for them ultimately, though.

    I’ve had a 2019 Mazda 3 2.5 N/a fwd for a year and a half now and I absolutely love it. I’ve owned German and European cars my whole life and this Mazda has been a dream. I’m curious if trading it in for the AWD turbo is worth it? Anyone with some input that went from naturally aspirated to turbo model? Is it worth it?

      Hard to say. It's much like your car but faster. If you're craving a quicker cruiser then it could be worth it. If you're wanting a "hot hatch" then it's not even close to a real option.

      @@A_guan 80% of WRXes sold are Manual. If Mazda built the 3 Turbo with a manual (and fixed the rear suspension) they would have sold a crap ton. Instead they pushed potential 3 buyers to other cars. I've owned two Mazda 3s (one being a Mazdaspeed) and I would never pick a current 3 over it's competitors for those reasons. If I wanted a small Buick then yeah, the 3 might be an option.

    Got my 21 Premium in July. Still madly in love with it. Didn't want the turbo due to worse mpg and smaller fuel tank. And the NA 2.5 actually feels surprisingly good, despite 0-60 times.

    I have 2007 Mazda 3 MPS, 2.3 Turbo and it's MAJESTIC. 260HP does the job, of course only with 98 fuel, recommended by the manufacturer. I think I will stay with this brand for quite a while, knowing that they still make turbocharged engines. One day I will buy this new model too.
