  • How I make my Moss intake sponges for filters 🌿🧽
I usually do this to prevent any baby shrimp or fish from getting sucked into the filter. It also acts as a planted section in the aquarium and is a great way to help hide the filter. The shrimp and snails love grazing through the moss and is always a great way to enrich the life of your livestock. Surprisingly enough its quite easy to clean and maintain as well!
Thanks for watching, I hope you got something valuable out of this!

Never seen anyone else utilizing the intake of a filter for growing some moss 🦐 The video gave me a 💡for a little different approach ... Hopefully you will give it a try ❔ That way i'll get to see it in the future!!! So I would do the dry start method , that's going to get the moss growing from the freshly chopped portion either with a mini food processor or just like Mr. Amano would use a sharp knife & a cutting board. Then cover just over half the sponge and then cover the container with cling film . If you keep the lights on 24 and spray everything it's attached in 2weeks . Helps to have a fan nearby and I'm sure you can find a lava rock they grow moss the best 🙏

Great idea! Seems like a lot of work though😅. Although, I could probably cut the moss up a bit and it might latch onto the sponge a bit easier. Thanks! 😀
