Located in the south of Beaujolais 🍇 about 45 minutes from Lyon, the medieval village of Oingt, nicknamed "Little Tuscany" because of its resemblance to the Italian region, is classified among the most beautiful villages in France 🌸 Take a trip back in time with me as you stroll through the little cobbled streets, each one cuter than the next. Perched on its hill, in a landscape of vineyards and valleys with irregular curves, what is also called "the pearl of the golden stones" is an old fortress from the Middle Ages which offers plenty of treasures.

👉🏻The only vestige of the rampart that protected the city in the 14th century. Restored in the 19th century, this gate marks the entrance to the old village.

👉🏻 Nicely laid out, it allows you to enjoy a very beautiful view of the village of Saint-Laurent d'Oingt, the Azergues valley, and which extends to the Matagrin tower on Mount Bousuivre, the highest point of the Lyonnais mountains.

👉🏻 18 meters high, this is the old keep of the Château Neuf (late 12th century).
