    What if you eat frozen celery

    • @Kram1032
      @Kram1032 Před 10 lety +18

      hmm, well, assuming that it takes just as much calories to warm celery as it takes to warm water, you'll be left with -3cal/celery
      This is very rough though:
      First of all, actually frozen celery (as in, coming from the freezer) may actually be colder than water, (depends on what settings you are using/ how good your freezer is), so based on that, it'll take you even more calories to get it up to bodily temperature.
      However, second, water and ice have, as far as your average chemicals go, incredibly high effective heat capacity which means they are especially hard to heat up compared to other materials.
      So while the majority of celery probably is water (just like it seems to be the case for most of life), since not ALL of it is, it'll be easier to heat up.
      tl;dr: We need more science.
      Also, do not try this at home with a life experiment.

      The big thing with that is how the butter spreads. You do get a better spread of butter when you spray it on the pan as opposed to dropping a big enough piece on it and letting it spread by itself. How it’s labeled on the nutrition facts is extremely misleading tho

    Zero calorie beverages actually do have zero calories though; they are basically just water with artificial sweetener. Your body can't digest aspartame, just like fiber, but it is still similar enough in structure to activate the chemoreceptors in your tongue and cause the sensation of sweetness.

      By law everything must contain a warning label if it contains (or may contain by accident) any one of the 8 major food allergies. Yes it's nuts and we can see the bag is nuts, but just as the label MUST say how many calories or salt it has it also MUST warn that it is an allergen.
      The 8 major food allergies that MUST always be labeled are: Peanuts, Tree nuts Milk, Soy, Fish, Corn, Wheat, Shellfish and eggs.

      Every food has a calming effect. Your brain thinks, that you can't be in danger, if you have time eat something. Also your body releases hormons while eating and digesting, as well as your blood sugar rises. If you want any other effects on your body, you would need drugs. Papaver cake helps, maybe. Well, a papaver cake makes me as lazy as a senche-tiger with a sugarbelly.

      That's just being pedantic in the extreme. The title references the fact that we often come across and experience "somethings" that are advertised as having zero calories, obviously labels on food and drink. I've never seen a rock advertised as having zero calories. Things that aren't digestible or edible, like rocks, shouldn't even be part of a thought process in your mind when you think about measurements of calories. A bit of common sense in required.

    • @CorbiniteVids
      @CorbiniteVids Před 10 lety

      Ireallyreally Hategoogle so me saying that it's acceptable to use language somewhat loosely is suddenly comparable to claiming evolution is false? That was such a huge leap. Semantical imperfections don't correlate to scientific inaccuracies! And even if it did, the semantics were fine! They got across what they meant to say.

    i always have this question in my mind when I eat healthy and exercise i lose the unwanted wanted weight and shape up my body I wonder where all pounds of fat went? did i transform it to muscles or water? or it still in my body waiting to get bigger whenever i eat junk food again?.. till now i didn't find any scientifically proven answer

    So, if diet soda does have 5 calories per 8oz serving, you'd have to drink 250 2 liters bottles of diet soda to gain 1 pound of body fat? So, if you drink four 2 liters of diet soda a week, you'd gain a pound in a year?
    But what about your body? Will it burn those calories walking to and from the fridge and bathroom, plus that small % that it takes to digest it?

    dont forget that the calories people calling everyday and the labelled amount is actually called kilo calories. But kilo = 1000 which sounds way too much so people just call it calorie even if it is written as kcal.

    There is no way something can be natural and have no calories. If we sued the companies that said their products had zero calories, we could make so much money.
