  • Writing drums in audio isn't without it's set backs. One of the biggest is not being able to easily use grooves. I find a simple solution is to drag a groove on to the timeline, and use it as a reference as to where you should move sounds off grid. Try using a 'groove guide'

    Can also just drag your audio sample into a simpler and then boom now you can use the midi from grooves 👍🏽

    Just consolidate drum track and put the groove directly on to the track and it will swing it without needing a random midi track

    • @KermodeMusic
      @KermodeMusic  Před 2 lety +1

      True! I just don't like to consolidate my tracks into long audio files, but certainly that is a method that works

    • @breezybranches
      @breezybranches Před 7 měsíci

      @@KermodeMusicyou can consolidate it, add the groove, comitt the groove, and then delete the empty space. I feel like that will save time

  • @Hennyfrank123
    @Hennyfrank123 Před 2 lety

    It might easier to to consolidate or resample those audio one shots into a singular audio track, warp and loop it, then add groove to that single audio file. Idk if that would affect overall sound tho but would save a bunch of time instead of nudging

    • @nickly_d
      @nickly_d Před rokem

      that's true but also consolidating normalizes the audio ): resampling/freezing would probably be fine but both are also somewhat time consuming... depends on the situation i suppose

    This looks more fun than automating the bpm with the pen-tool. 🙄😬

      playing certainly gets groove the fastest. I personally love clicking things in though. To each their own

    Can I use this method without it sounding to robotic in deep dubstep???

  • @pioneeringpeppers
    @pioneeringpeppers Před rokem

    Just use velocity midi effect

  • @breezybranches
    @breezybranches Před 7 měsíci

    Can’t u just add groove to audio? Consolidate all your hits then add the groove

    • @KermodeMusic
      @KermodeMusic  Před 5 měsíci

      Yes, but sometimes Ableton doesn't read the transients as accurately. Plus I like have that extra level of control. Plus once you consolidate there is a chance for quality degradation depending on the settings
