- This is the ultimate guide to making dope boom bap drums with swing and bounce. You will how you can instantly level up your drums. In this video I'm showing you how i make dope boom bap drums in Ableton Live 11. Learning how to make boom bap drums with the right sound and swing doesn't need to be a challenge. You just need to study the songs and beats that you admire and learn from the pros. I recorded this video to show you that it can actually be quite simple to create better boom bap drums for hip hop instrumental beats for rappers. This style hip hop production can be achieved if you follow my simple tutorial in Ableton Live 11.
In this tutorial I go over how you can successfully make great sounding boom bap hip hop drums for your beats that rappers will actually want to rap over. I also touch on reasons and ways to make your beats more interesting by showing you tips and tricks you can do with your drum programming techniques. Studying songs is a great way to achieve these original boom bap style drums in your beats similar to what classic rap artists would rap over.
Although this tutorial was created in Ableton Live 11 you can use the same methods and ideas in any DAW. Including Maschine, Akai MPC, Logic, Pro Tools, FL Studio and literally any other program you can think of. Hip Hop is Hip Hop no matter how it is created!
