- Some observations after several days of playing the heavily customized vintage Hohner 270 Super wood combed harp.
The 20 video series showing all the customizations is posted on CZcams...HOHNER 270 SUPER CUSTOMIZATION KETTLEWELL...
Played here with a Shure SM58 mic.
I will likely be replacing one C reed, and putting self tapping screws in to replace the nails holding reedplates to wood comb.

I bought a harmonica just like that at a flea market in Croatia four years ago now, and really love how it looks. now I want to learn how to play it.
Sounds sweet! Exactly. Reminds me of Larry Adler’s Genevieve ~~
Thank you for your videos! They are great and very informative.
The piece is simply noodling, I'm currently studying to be a composer
The 270 is still in production, as is it’s my favorite harmonica
Another enjoyable video. I always come away having learnt something. Question, do you make and sell your plastic mouth sliders as I would like to try one?
Slider are hand crafted by David, send him an email using the Contact link at MASTERSOFHARMONICA.COM
Great informative video. I play an HOHNER 270. Is it possible to get one such mouthpiece in India for the same ?
Wonderful playing, thank you. Just out of interest, what is the first piece you are playing on on the 270?
I'm a composer, just a diddlie for the video. No name
Very nice sound from that harp. I have a question about the wind-savers though. I have a Hohner 16 hole and a Suzuki Chromatix 16 hole and both exhibit sticking wind-savers after playing a for a short time.
Is there a way clean and lubricate them? I clean the harps after an hour or two of practice and lube the slider with Hetman lube # 13. Thanks for the help and the instruction as well.
You can clean a chromatic with an ABS, a Brass, or aluminum comb....NOT WOOD. It is not uncommon for harps to develop sticking breathsavers...here's the solution. While you lubricate a slide, one never lubricates a breath saver....ever ever ever. czcams.com/users/results?search_query=how+to+clean+a+chromatic+harmonica
Thank you for the quick response . No, I've never tried to correct a stuck wind -saver except to wait for a few moments then it sees to work again.
I'll watch the cleaning video for your tips. Thanks my friend. Stay safe and healthy.
Where to I find the mouthpiecei europe, i have an hohner cx12 jazz thank you many times
