There is some amazing TV now coming out of America such as Game of thrones, Walking dead, Arrow, house of cards, Hannibal, House of cards, Boardwalk Empire, True Detective and so many more. We are currently in a golden age of TV.
Totally awesome and insane stunt! Especially considering the actual car wasn't a breeze to drive according to the recent book about the show. I really miss the practical stunts of the 80's and the incredible stunt men that could pull them off. :D
I love the Kenworth K100 in this scene. It looks so mean and sinister looking with those headlights! The cool close ups are awesome! Thanks for posting!
curt2004100 The Coyote was based on a kit car produced by Manta. They called it the Manta Montage. A guy in my city had one with Porsche engine back in the late 90's. I have not seen it in nearly 15 years.
Just what I was thinking. They destroyed the best car in the whole scene. Sure, the Coyote was cool, but the Cougar was a very nice price of Detroit Steel and the Coyote is just a kit concept car. More are being made, whereas the Cougar is limited in number and is one of the icons of the muscle car era. Hollywood sure destroys a lot of classics.
Originally thought to be a Beetle based kit so probably something small 1400 to 1600cc, either from a Beetle, 911 or Karmann Ghia. Engine sound was dubbed from a Ferrari - which one we don't know but is identical to the Lamborghini Countach in The Cannonball Run and Ferrari Daytona in The Gumball Rally - so probably just a generic Hollywood sound. Wikipedia gives different info on the cars history and build but I'm only going on what was written in the 1980's that I read when I was a kid.
What stretch of road was this truck chase filmed? That looks like I-5 over to the side. This looks like "The Old Road" in Castaic, north of L.A. Someone elaborate more on this who is familiar with the area.
This takes me back to 7/8yrs of age when it aired in the early 80’s in Pakistan. Father was working for an oil production company
80's shows like this may have been cheesy, but they had the best theme music ever.
Yes indeedy! That's what makes 80s shows so iconic and memorable XD
No more fun shows like this, sadly.

bighands69 none of them have any real action , just talking, talking and talking
no they sell us video games now
Ahh, what would an 80s action show be without the classic "squealing car tires on sandy ground" cliché 👌🏼😁
0:29 four, count them, FOUR out of FOUR beautiful mustaches.
That's how you tell who the bad guys are!
My brother and I loved this show when we were little... It's so over the top and ridiculous LOL awesome
This is the scene , the fucking scene i grew up loving.
From Family Affair to Hardcastle and McCormick, Brian Keith kicks ass!
I Love the awesome camera shots of the Kenworth K100. Looks menacing!!!

And crashing cars that don't explode like the Ford Pinto in "Top Secret!"
Michael Mercy a great show back in the day I know Brian Keith died but I wonder what happened to the other guy
@@dodgydavetime1943 daniel hugh kelly continues to act, had a good size role in the star trek movie insurrection.
@Michael Mercy what book was that??
@@James-C24 If you search "Hardcastle and McCormick book", there's only one result that will come up. :D
lol how the car interior changes into Magnums PI 328 ferrari one shot to another.
Love it.
i own the boxset so glad to have this show to see anytime i want
Une de meilleures scènes de la série... Merci pour le partage...

2:40 It was amazing how Hardcastle’s hat stays on his head while doing 100mph. Ha, haaa. That was a Mercury Cougar XR-7, I believe.
I luv this scene! thanks for the upload - i have this episode on vhs & used to watch the same clip over & over again in the 80's ;-)
Dennis Franz in a 1967 Cougar in this episode. I'm going to find this and watch the hell out if it 😉
I know it was just a kit car. But I really would love a coyote. Lol

Daymeon Gartrell Look in my garage. ;)
Ahhh, the 80s, gotta love em!
driving under the semi trailer #Classic!👍👍👍
I love those front shots of the KW!
Cool I had almost forgotten about this show.
Though I like how they used Ferrari 308 Gauges/Center console shots for this scene :)
every good 70's / 80's police action series needs pallets, barrels and copious amount of carton boxes
In the late 1980s Japanamation Riding Bean ; when Bean shifted his car The Roadbuster it reminded me of the Coyote X ^^
Before The Fast and The Furious, there was THIS 20 years before! @4:10.
McLaren M6GT replica, Marvelous.
well before F AND THE F MOVIES. one of my top ten motors.. the coyote.
It’s all bout the wheel spin shots……
That poor Cougar....

Fuck that Cougar
I love the KW in this clip!.
Its funny how you see the Kenworth close up at 2:27 then at 2:32 its a Ford 9000 thats chasing them! :)
This was a fun show Knight rider was like a root canal without anything to kill the pain.
Thats where fast and furious copied that from
Indeed,
5:29 look in the right side rear view mirror to see the camera guy strapped in.
He look so uncomfortable in that car
I wish I could find the exact film location for this scene. I know it’s somewhere along Int 5. Near Castaic
How could they not catch them ....the base car for the coyte was a vw beetle
P.s loved the show

that one truck driver kinda looks like Merv Griffin
the ultimate race:
KITT vs the coyote x vs the interceptor from the wraith vs the general lee vs the interceptor from mad max vs the black moon.
I wolud give my SOUL to watch such a race.
Honestly KITT Vs The Turbo Interceptor from the Wraith would be a better race.
Looking to purchase a replica or kit of the coyote any info would be great , thanks
👍👍👍👍👍

still my favourite car of all times ...
The next exit is 50 miles away. Oops! I mean 50 feet away lol
Hey Relax! :)
now i know were the Fast and the Furious got that idea from, with the car going under the truck,
I dont mean to be a spoiler of the scene! LOL :)
The historical movie scene ,,these series doesn't need half naked woman to attract viewers 😆
Andy Sipowitz
Dennis Franz
ferrari interior?
So the Coyote X can't even outrun a semi truck?
Boxed in doesn't help
It can but being boxed in does not help
The car on its roof is not a cougar. Lol. It's a GM car.
This show is older then I am. And I can't stand new shows, Netflix can't afford to make good action shows. We were spoiled!
High speed stunts and dangerous chases without bloody seatbelts!!!! Obviously there was no space left inside the coyote..
I used to think Hardcastle was played by George C. Scott.
NewarkNation Brian Keith
Dennis Franz was a Bad Guy?
Sipowitz!
wasted a nice 68 cougar
Chris Cannaday
Suspect is driving a red ... car ...
Michael Knight never would have had this problem, KITT would have intercepted the radio traffic, just saying
@IASEAGLE5 +1 !
Loved this show but they stole the engine sound from the Cannonball Run Countach 😆
Bob Gees and the cannonball run stole the engine sound from the gumball rally. So what is your point?
Das is sooo 80er
sipowitz
nothing compared to knight rider
we all know that they got the idea from Smokey and the Bandit
fnf my ass lol
KR wannabe.
