This weirdly became my most anticipated series ahaha
Sammmeeee! I feel like she is living out one of my dreams.
@@algilmer3608 living vicariously through Ariel squad ✌️
Omg mine toooo
Oh my gosh same!
Same 🤷🏽♀️
I would literally watch a daily vlog about this house I cannot stress enough that you can make all the videos you want and I will gobble them up \o/
SAME!
Honestly!!
I live for Ariel's videos
Same
Saaaame! 🖤
AGREED! I dont watch book videos so i've never seen her channel until i found the video of her talking about the house she bought without seeing! Now im invested!!
I hadn’t realized how invested I was but I clicked so fast 😅. I’m living my home buying dreams through you!
Oh my god same 😂
Same here
Me too 🙋
Same. I'm not in any position right now where I could buy a home, so this is my drug rn.
@@hermionebenson8366 me too..
Wood panelling is very serial killer-esque. I 1000% support you getting rid of it. 😅
I’ve lived in an old house all my life(mine was built in 1900) and here are a couple tips I’ve learned.
1. Always have house shoes because you never know when you’re going to get a splinter(I hate splinters)
2. Be prepared to fix things(as I’m sure you already are 😊). My dad had to learn how to snake our toilet growing up.
3. There will be creaking
4. Always have flashlights/batteries in case of a power outage.
5. Creatures may find their way into your house or attic.
OMG, you were talking about repainting the chairs and I was thinking "mmh pastel blue would be a very ariel-colour", and then you said you were thinking about light blue 😂😂😂😂😂
What if a home renovation company were to sponsor you? Eeeeep! Loving the microwave and toaster. They look like sentient beings out of Adventure Time.
I hadn't realized before you said it but it's SO true?? My dream is not just "cottage vibe house" anymore, it's "Tree Trunks' house" I swear
such a flex to answer “no” to “do you have trouble concentrating?” lol i envy you
I never thought I'd have a dream microwave, but....here we are. THAT IS SO CUTE WHAT
the microwave looks like something you'd find in animal crossing. the cutest!
Ariel I don't usually comment but I'm very invested in this series and I wanted to let you know. Keep it coming!!
Same!
We need a tour of your land as well 😍😍 it sounds amazing
This!
At least the river im dying to see it 😍
Probably not something she will do just for safety and privacy concerns
@@goharmartirosyan15 i mean she could probably show us a few little pieces of it. I whole tour of evrything would probably be too much
@@silverkyre ahh i see what you mean. Definitely would be cool. Just saying that i would understand if she chose not to share
I'm such a sucker for pastel colored house appliances, I absolutely would have bought those two even if I didn't need them 😍 they're too cute!
That little animated intro ❤️❤️
Thank you!!! I worked really hard on it hehe my brother and I recorded the hammer and saw sounds in my office 🙈
I hope that you get rid of that carpeting ASAP. Hashtag air quality. You don't want to be breathing in black mold.
Good call! We ripped our first house carpet out first day. Second house, my husband wanted to wait and I ended up with a chronic lung infection up coughing all night. I removed the carpet and the cough was better in two days!
@@rebeccaanne3083 Yes, I helped a relative take out wall to wall carpeting and what was below the surface was pretty funky.
@@bugs1729 we had so much dust under ours 😐 I couldn’t help but think it was skin cells and gross tiny things ewww
Seriously dont know anyone would have not ripped it out by now. Its just getting started. Take down paneling, out with carpets...its not talking and doing.
i am so emotionally invested in the disgusting carpet, truly cant wait for the video where we see clips of that being torn out!!!!
Same!
Damn I'm so excited for this ~chapter~ of her life as if it was my life
Just be careful when you take down the wood pannling because you don't know what's behind those walls :)
This made me remember when I removed siding from my dads house 😐
Ron, Gary and Scott says hi.
Having also bought a house this year, I can confirm the difficulty of living a life (even for a short while) without a chair 😂
RIGHT???
@@ArielBissett I got cats before I got a chair 👀
We didn't have fridge for a week when we moved in. So... You somehow make adjustments.
You will learn to love Crocs lol. They are just so useful if you live in a house. I have a pair that I use even now for runing outside and taking out trash or stuff like that. Basicaly the same thing as the boots but for less wet days.
This is serious is giving me serious "making home" vibes from the Sorry Girls. Love it!
You got a great deal for two acres, a septic, well, electricity, and a house with furnace and loads of character!
When you started saying "my land" I started crying??? I'm so happy for you, Ariel
I'm so excited for you...what an incredible journey you're on. We had a similar situation to yours at the end of 2019 -- our landlord decided he wanted the farmhouse we were renting for his migrant workers. We'd lived there for 7 years, had a flock of hens, a huge garden...basically we were emotionally and financially invested. Pffft. 60 days to find somewhere to live. Cue the biggest living nightmare. Long story short - we found a little house to buy and it was the best thing out of the truly worst thing. So your story is hugely relatable!
Glad you're getting rid of the paneling -- as a child of the 80s, in Canada, I can tell you, you don't want to be living in the embodiment of all that was wrong with Canadian 80s decor 😆. The Wayne's World Basement aesthetic should never be allowed to return. Also - I'm glad you love your Hunter wellies....but if I could suggest you find your nearest feed store, you'll get far hardier outdoor clothing at far more reasonable prices. 😉
Yikes! That carpet has got to go first! If this just becomes a home reno channel I won't be mad about it.
Keep the small tables because they are couch side tables. My parents have some from back in the day and they are so handy!!
Welcome to the maritimes! We’re neighbours to you over here in PEI. My wife and I recently bought an old farmhouse as well, and are about halfway through the renovations.
I understand you’re an Anne of Green Gables fan as well! If you haven’t been to Montgomery’s homestead yet, you should make it a priority once the Atlantic bubble is a thing again.
Best of luck with the new spot and keep the vids coming!
I can’t put into words how obsessed I am with this series of Ariel fixing up her house. (My heart does break for the wood paneling though). Can’t wait to see what comes next.
YES GIRL. Remove that panelling! Ours desperately needs gone (they used 4 different kinds of pannelling/not real wood in this place). I can't wait to see the transformation! :D
Also, those tables are wonderful! My grandpa had a set just like them!!
I love this series! Despite the fact that I don't own my own home, and don't think that I will any time soon, I love home decor and find home renovation in general is just so fascinating and relaxing. It's amazing to watch something go from less than ideal to beautiful, especially if it's in a matter of an hour and I don't have to spend my own money on it hahahahaha.
I would love to know how your parents felt about moving with you. Obviously they were good with moving with you but were they hesitant about a house that needed work/no heat etc
Haha are you kidding me! I’ve been raised by two amazing people who are always up for a challenge, are creative about solutions, and believe in doing hard work instead of expecting easy comforts. Half the reason I felt okay doing this big thing was knowing they’d help me! My dad installed a pressure tank the other day and my mom just helped me paint my room. They’re awesome.
@@ArielBissett My parents sound like yours! They are the same way, always want a new project or adventure!💕
@@ArielBissett that’s so awesome! You’re making great memories together even if some times are hard or stressful!
@@ArielBissett Hi! I have to almost stand up reading (while I wait for a bus or train) in order to stay awake (age 57 ½)----do you have any suggestions? Random electric ⚡⚡⚡ shocks? *More Orwell videos please!
@@ArielBissett oh and congrats on your newold house! Let us see you pushing a lawn mower in a video (longer than 5 seconds) this spring
I just love how she says on my LAND there’s a beautiful RIVER
What a flex.
I’m loving this house updates series Ariel 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
It's one thing for someone to give you their opinion on what you should/shouldn't do, but when it's strangers on the internet demanding you keep your house a certain way you do have to worry a little. At the end of the day it's your house and you're the one who has to live in it every day, so it should be what you want and your tastes, regardless of what others think.
I spent hours the other day looking at houses on the internet because of your last video. I’m only 22 and I haven’t even graduated college so I’m so far away from even buying my own house! 🤣
Girl same😂🥺
I didn’t know there were so many wood panel stans out there 😂
You can also spray your shoes and soak your clothes in premethin and lay them to dry. The clothes last a handful of washes. And ticks and most bugs landing on your clothes will die and fall right off.
Beware, premethin is lethal to cats when sstill wet.
When you tear down the paneling you’ll be able to see any problems hidden in the walls, which is a good thing. Surely there will be some problems but hopefully not many. It’s always better to know. Best wishes.
Crocs, Columbia fleece sweaters are legit needs! I couldn’t live without mine!!!
Love the rain boots, feel like those will be handy for inside too while you’re doing all that clean up and renovating
So nice !
Do you plan to show your "muddy land" ? because I would love to watch that ^-^
Yes!! I just want to slowly show different projects and am always a bit hesitant about showing the outside in case people track me down haha
@@ArielBissett I get that and it's totally find if you don't want to. Anyway your house is already amazing in itself. I really like old houses like yours. I live in France and we do not have the same kind of old houses.
You might want to build a mudroom in the unfinished extention. If you plan on getting a dog then remember to tile (non slip) the mud room and add a shower to wash the dog!
I hate wood paneling, so i'm happy that it's going to go away 😍
That microwave and toaster are adorable ! Literally squealed when you said your property had a river ! How beautiful !
Omg, could we get a outside garden tour if you develop one on your land? That be so cool, like vegetables and a small section for like “fae folk”, aw that be so cute!!
So excited to be following this!!!

Ariel, so excited for you!! And that fireplace is fabulous !!

Your videos bring me so much joy, thank you!
I love this!! I can't wait to see more from your house! And oh my god, that is the most beautiful microwave and toaster, wow.
These house videos are making me so happy!
I love when you started showing things that you bought and I understand the boots since you are close to a river, then you pulled out the "UGLY" Crocs! I have been wearing Crocs for over 39 years now, both lined and unlined. I have both real Crocs and FAKE Crocs. They are wonderful for inside and outside. When they get dirty you just throw them in the washer and they come out like new!! Next the 2 chairs that you bought are Plank Bottom chairs which fit perfect in your house. Next are the Half Tables which my Grandmother had in her house and I have them now. Plus when my husbands' parents died and we moved in this house, there were 5 of those tables here. They are perfect to have at the end of chairs or sofas (that's why there are short) and perfect to sit against a wall. Your microwave is to die for. It's just too cute! I am loving your videos!!!
Im in love with everything in this video
I know I'm very late to this video, but I owned those same boots (in that same color) and wore them for 10 years before they cracked. They are awesome. They are not even slightly warm, so I also bought the fleece "wellie warmer" socks, which work really well!
i literally grew up with her and it’s so exciting to see ariel go through this milestone ! ❤️
Looking forward to seeing what you do with the place.all the best!
I'm loving this series so far Ariel! And I'm so happy to see that these videos are getting sponsored!
Love love love the house vids, hoping to see much more! Now that you have a ”forever house” are you going to have a home library? :)
I just found your channel AND I'M SO INVESTED IN THIS SERIES!!
I LOVE your micro and fridge color!
We just bought our first house and I’m LIVING to watch you go through this too!
I've been following Ariel for so long and the coolest thing to happen so far was realizing we have the same favorite poetry collection. I didn't even hear it from her! Crazy
Welcome to the old house owner's club! Voice of experience here. 3 things to put on your shopping list before starting DIY renovation projects: 1) a good half-face respirator mask that uses replaceable filters. 2) extra filters 3) upper-face safety protection. In your damp climate (like mine), no telling what lurks behind the fake paneling & in spooky corners. Have fun!
I can't wait to see all the things you you do to this house. It has amazing potential.
18 minutes of a cute adult ariel and the matching microwave and toaster are adorable!!!
I’m so excited to see where this house renovating stuff brings you! I hope one day I’ll be able to own my own house too!
This is the kind of content I'm living for right now, thanks for sharing your journey! So exciting!
I’m way excited bby omggg!
I’m literally becoming obsessed with these videos😍 They’re so much fun!! Can’t wait for the next one😍
I’m so glad I stumbled upon your channel. This journey is so exiting. Congratulations!
The boots are so cute, and it's so lovely that you get to use them to tromp around your very own river!! Can't wait to continue following along with this journey!
I’m so invested in this series🙌🏻🙌🏻❤️
Girllll, youtube knew I was on a home owning kick and recommended me your channel and I gotta say I'm obsessed. Really looking forward to your home updates!
Yeah. The 70's are over. I think it's fine to take down the paneling. 😆
this series is soo funnnn!!
