From Glasgow. I visited Liverpool 21 yrs ago. Took the ferry across the mersey. Loved the song. They played both these songs over the loud speaker. I was in Liverpool heaven as I sailed towards Birkenhead, looking back at the Liver buildings. Grew up listening to Gerry and his band in the 60s and 70s. Fav song is Don't let the sun catch you crying. RIP Gerry
PS Also attended Celtic v Liverpool UEFA Cup match at Celtic Park. The whole stadium sang YNWA along with him. Wonderful.

I saw Gerry about 10 years ago, and he introduced this song by saying he wrote the song when he broke up with his girlfriend. She heard it, they got back together and married about 40 years ago. The audience applauded, he then said "Wish I'd never written the ## song." Brilliant, a great character as well as singer. Will never forget.

Aye to that Peter, Gerry Marsden and his Pacemakers band were a huge favorite of mine in the sixties. We Americans greatly admired all your British bands, the Beatles in particular, and, of course, Gerry and his wonderful band. Liverpool indeed made a great contribution to popular music. My roots are in England and Northern Ireland; my grandfather Allen was born I Newcastle upon Tyne, and my great grandfather Joseph Johnson's father came from London to the States. A large part of why I like and admire the British bands, but mostly for the fine music they produce. And always been a great fan of the Animals, and Eric Burdon, who hailed from Newcastle as did my grandfather. Best regards.

Now at 73 it becomes apparent that we were duped by the rotten cesspit that U.K. has become now, lying thief’s in suits.
      I’m ashamed to be British.

Two of my favourite songs from Merseyside in the sixties. Ferry cross the Mersey still played on the ferry and Dont let the sun catch you crying had no doubt comforted many going through a breakup. Liked the band here as well. Gerry has included some youthful musicians...am liking it. Shine on Gerry!

I so love the 60s. Why was i were not born in it. The period of music revolution. The songs back then not only sounds so pleasing to our hearts and mine but it also tells a story. How i wish.
