Thank you for posting this. As a 7 year old, I made an audio recording of this off of an old tape recorder. I listened to it over and over. It brings back so many memories. Thank you again!
The music changing through the decades is my favorite part of the video. Definitely some groovy sounds. These are the days when my parents were young. The music makes me think of my dad lol.
50's players all had their own unique styles and array of shots that slowly got lost over time when the jump shot took over most players shots by the late 60's. The last guys to do a set shot were Dolph Schayes and Richie Guerin.
I don’t know if you even check your comments anymore. I just found a reel entitled “Panasonic Presents NBA 25 Years-The NBA Story” by Winik Films. I’m sure it’s ruined by now, but ours is 1-1/2 hours. Did you cut yours down? I’m so curious what was on our reel and how you got yours! I also have old time reels for The “NBA 1970 Championship Playoffs” and “NBA 1969 It’s Greatest Year.” Who knows if those are ruined too!! Thanks for posting this so I can now understand a little bit about what we have/had.
@@stephanieortiz7810 You could try and have it digitized, and if it works out, please upload it to your channel. Myself and many others would love to check it out, I'm sure. Cheers! 🙂
6:34 Danny Biasone of the Syracuse Nats came up with the shot clock... the shot clock was tailor made for THEM, not the Celtics. The same year the shot clock was introduced the Nats won their title. I love how they just completely glossed over that. Can't speak on anyone other than the Celtics and Lakers during that era I guess.
@@davidchan9632 It certainly brings back some memories. The footage is wonderful to watch, as is the embedded commercial that features Jerry Lucas, one of the few people in NBA history to average 20 points and 20 rebounds in a season.
I give them a lot of credit because of the pay back then and the shoe's and modern medicine back then and treatments for the athletes back then they had it rough

Yeah. Shame on NBA for not preserving these old footages. They seem to be intent on erasing history.

Watch Sam Perkins sometime. When he changed his game to 3-point shooting, he rarely left the floor.
Pyschofox99 guys have used set shots since than but rarely. Larry Costello too

We went from articulate presidents like Eisenhower to buffoons like Trump
