I have a 2021 RT and recently here in New York. It rained for a couple of days and when I turn my truck on I see water inside the tail light. This is so wonderful I had to go to the bathroom immediately. Then I found your video. I hope this is the solution to my problem.

Instead of drilling the hole, you can just remove the bottom 🔩.the water will drain out.

I have a 2013 WK2 with the same issue on the rear passenger side tail light. The half of the tail light that is attached to the lift gate has about 2 inches of standing water that I just noticed today. I really don't want to drill a hole but can't afford a replacement. Guess my options are limited to taking it out and hope that some silicone works or drill. These light housings are stupid expensive. Thanks for the video.

@@SuperPete276 Yup did this afternoon had no other choice. Those two 10 millimeters bolts with those plastic covers that are attached disintegrated when I tried to remove them and fell off revealing the metal shaft of the bolt underneath but, now there's nothing for my socket ro grab on to. Tried wd40 and vice grips but the metal is rusted right in there. Felt like every step I took was creating another problem so I just drilled a tiny hole in the lower outer corner. Water drained right out. Hopefully the hole is tiny enough where no debris gets in there. Re-sealing it probably isn't a good idea because of the amount of water that was in there. More will probably get in until I can afford to have them professionally removed and replaced. Thanks again, subscribers!

Does anyone know if the tail lights in the 2011 to 2013 leak? Or is it just a redesigned headlights from 2014 and on that leak? Wasn’t sure if it’s the design of the tailgate or if is the taillights themselves that have the issue.

Hey Peter i have a question.
When i turn the ac on,there’s a whistle sound that i hear. The dealer swears they cant hear it,im baffled by that. Anyways so my main air filter the original one was yellow. I replaced it they didn’t. They checked the cabin, they said its good. I checked way before they did. It’s white not dirty but like i said they checked not cleaned it or replaced it.
The whistle sounds is still there but not as loud,of course if i blast the ac you cant hear it. When its on 2 or 3 i can hear it. So as far as I know,3 things, engine air filter, cabin filter or maybe ac pressure or something-like that? It cools quick so i don’t know.
I can take it back to the dealer because yes they told me if i hear it again i should. But i like to do my diligence and be prepared aware etc. Should i replace the cabin filter and see? Basically by process of elimination?
I know its a lot but i would appreciate some feedback. 2019Dodge Durango 8,500 miles.
    Thank you

    • @SuperPete276
      @SuperPete276  Před 2 lety

Hard to say, maybe your fan just makes this sound at that one speed, sometimes stuff gets stock inside the vents and vibrates just right. take cabin filter off and run it without for a day see if that goes away, report back.

@@SuperPete276 wow I should’ve thought of that, thank you. I did replace the cabin filter it was dirty with a couple of tree debri, tiny sticks that sort of thing. Still the small faint whistle when on 1,2,3. Of course the lower the setting the more i hear it.
I will take the new one off tomorrow and try. All process of elimination, slipped my mind. Again thanks and i will get back to you. Maybe this can help someone else out in the process or future.

@@SuperPete276 Hey Peter, just for an update. I took the cabin filter out and still the same. I turned the fan on high thought maybe it could help out. All i know its just when the AC is on. When I accelerate it you can hear it and then it just comes and goes. Really annoying not knowing. I hate to complain about the dealer. I went for an oil change and i added by the way can you check this sound for me and i got no help just to bring it back.
You have to very specific and I thought i was. I’ll have to drive it with someone inside this time. I just don’t want this to become a larger situation if i let it persist you know.

They make products that seem to have a failure in the process of making them center tail lights of leaking and the company knows about it but seems to Dodge lawsuits which I find very unsettling. Just got a 2017 gt model and I noticed the passenger side has water at the bottom from just washing it. The filler they use is junk and beyond cheap better luck to use gorilla glue to seal the cracks all around. The price for a used light is 400+. People have lost their crack head minds. My lights for my 05 ram are about 300-400$ new with led lights that's both front and back. Guess they going the Ford way and stepping up the plate for their own mistakes in the product

    Hello Peter Rebristy!
This is Nove from AISKITS, I watched your channel it’s really exciting and impressive.
This is a newly launched LED headlight! You can see this LED headlight, is not cool?it is our latest development of a product!
In the United States, there are many classic cars, they are our closest partners! Now they may need some upgrades to accompany us better.
Replacing and upgrading our headlights does more than making driving safer. They improve the look of your vehicle as well as its performance. LED bulbs have a lower power pull on your vehicle’s battery and system. They also give our vehicle a fresh and new feel with bright white light.
I was wondering if you could do a share for it on your CZcams:
    • Introduction
    • Overview of features
    • Actual driving footage with the bulbs
    • Amazon link on the description for viewers interested in buying the product."
Please let me know if this is OK with you. Really looking forward to working with you.
    Best wish,
    Nove

WTF, doesn’t any body buy the extended warranty? For god sale the warranty is cheaper than the tail light and it covers other stuff. Just purchased a Factory warranty through Chrysler for my Durango to take me to 120K. More than likely most people get rid of their vehicles by then. I just don’t get it. When this (of it does) happen to my Durango before I hit 120K it will cost me $100 to replace.
