  • INGREDIENTS
    1kg Flour
    1/4cup Sugar
    1/4 melted butter
    1/2 tsp Salt
    1tbsp Baking Powder
    3Cup of water
    1.5litre Cooking Oil
    FOR SUGAR COATING
    3/4 Cup Sugar
    3/4 Cup of Water
    Instructions:
    1. In a large bowl, mix the flour, sugar, salt, and baking powder.
    2. Add the melted butter and water/milk/coconut milk to the dry ingredients. Mix until a dough forms.
    3. Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface until smooth.
    4. Roll out the dough to about 1/4 inch thickness. Cut into desired shapes.
    5. Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan or fryer to 350°F (175°C).
    6. Fry the chinchin in batches until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side.
    7. Remove from oil and drain on paper towels.
    8. Allow to cool completely.
    9. In a deep pan add water and sugar, then let it boil until it sticks together.
    10. Add flavour to the mixture then add your chinchin.
    11. Mix your chinchin until they are coated with the sugar and set it on a flat surface.
    13. Allow to cool completely before serving.
