With the patch notes, I could have simplified EVEN further by saying “Masterworks, of any kind, no longer change damage.” since adept and crafted ones of other stats were taking away damage too. They just made it so no masterworks change any damage, including charge time!
This is really huge. I had no idea this applied to non-adept weapon masterworks too. Thanks for sharing.
Heres a tip, do testing on K&M, these tests are absolutely bad when you only do it in controller where aim assist and reticle friction does the job for you.
@@ParagonGoetia what does that have to do with charge time? It doesn’t change anything
@@Legoleflash I should probably specify on the overall guides surrounding fusions, I will admit I comented here since it was the most recent video.
Ive been testing myself but adaptives as an example are hard to control even with stability in the 50s when in M&K. This is becaude Bungie, as with many changes, was scared of players getting too good with it, so the recoil spread is harder to control and benefits like reticle stickiness wont do good there.
This man is literally carrying the entire fusion rifle enjoyer community on his back with all the information he provides and I’m beyond grateful.
Fusions are the most busted thing in the game bar to none.
@Meybi youre joking right?
@@Meybithat's the comment of someone who doesn't play D2 pvp
This was so freaking useful man, thank you for making this! I had no definitive answer on what charge time stuff did and didn't stack till now
I got you! Big thanks to the research I built upon!
This is why you're the fusion king! Thanks for all the hard work and info dude!
Fantastic video, I LOVE the depth in which you went AND how great it was displayed. It was alot and could have run easily an hour. Thanks for the insanely helpful video and compressing it into a watchable format. Keep up the great work bro!
Here are my takeaway notes, as someone who highly prefers shorter starting Charge Time (as in, before a perk like Successful Warm-Up) and likes to plan for shooting Titans which are typically at t10 resilience.
PvP perks (always with Charge MW):
-Rapid
High-Impact Reserves + Accelerated Coils
or default damage
-Adaptive
High-Impact Reserves
No Accelerated/Liquid Coils
-Precision
High-Impact Reserves + Accelerated Coils
or default damage
-High-Impact
High-Impact Reserves
Accelerated Coils with H-I Reserves
Liquid Coils if no H-I Reserves
That’s pretty awesome! I’m surprised by the Liquid on high impacts with how much you value charge time, but I get it!
Fantastic video. I know it must take tons of time to do all the testing to gather this data, but this is the type of Destiny content I find most valuable. Thanks for so consistently putting out great videos!
Absolutely fantastic and video, all important details quick and easy explained! Thank you.
You sir are a godsend for every Destiny fusion rifle enthusiast!
I interpreted the patch notes referring to crafted and adept weapons with a non-charge time frame/MW that also decreased charge time to no longer decrease damage. i.e. the +2/3 to the non MW stats translated to a -12ms to charge time which now no longer decreases damage.
Yeah it was both! Should have specified, just people use that sentence and think it applies to the masterwork, but you’re right, it took care of that too
Man I've been waiting for charts like these forever. Lego you're a hero!
Maybe you could do a fusion perk tier list in respect to the four archetypes? It's hard to remember "is Backup Plan actually worth it on this archetype," for instance.
Edit: this video showed that even the value of High Impact Reserves differs from archetype to archetype. It's hard to remember all these nuances.
Pretty sure that’s only worth it on High Impact frames
Midha's or Glacio with backup plan I think are still go-to choices for me. I'm just used to them.
@@huegofarley4684 That was just one perk example. This video showed that High Impact Reserves is good for some archetypes and not others. There are a host of issues like this which make it hard to remember everything.
As far as differences for archetypes I do feel like HIR, charge time, and backup plan are the main ones that differ, but a perk tier list video does sound interesting now that Under Pressure and Rangefinder aren't the king of everything. 😅😅
@@Legoleflash next video maybe???
I’m starting to dabble in pvp more and fell in love with adaptive fusions. This guide is very helpful.
Man, you the best! Appreciate all the time spent and work put into this. :)
Thank you! And thank ya to the folks that started all the research!
THX, very informative post that hits all the bolts
Best fusion rifle content out there. Always so well done! Thank you, Lego!
Thank you! This one was awesome to put together!
lego is the fusion king no one else is making these kinds of comprehensive guides most of them are like "try this build here with this exotics and these perks" and not really a introspective look at why and how certain things effect a weapon type mad props to you lego
Great video, dude. Honestly, one of the most frustrating things about playing D2 is the devs consistently failing to fix things like this, up to and including the accuracy of in-game descriptions. It's like doing a math problem with the wrong formulas, but still getting the right answer. Like, okay, but really? Haha.
In other news, I've been breaking out Bastion lately with good results to deal with all the DR and overshields in pvp.
Thanks for the charts and extensive research.
This is EXACTLY the video I’ve been waiting for.
Getting better and better 💪🏼
The adaptives not always killing in 5 bolts with 2 shots in the chamber is exactly why I use ionized battery on my trinary system. Projection fuse giving half a meter of falloff is less important to me than the amount of times a titan survived my fusion because I only landed 5 bolts. It also helps under pressure as well which isnt exactly noticable, but its there.
Totally makes sense! I also think enhanced High Impact Reserves might do it as well, need to test it out!
Backup mag helps under pressure and High impact reserves as well
@@24SEVIN yes but I use trinary system specifically on a build with rain of fire, so I need icarus grip to get the AE to 60 on dawnblade. Backup mag is a good point for other fusions though since the mod slot really isnt that important.
Adaptive fusion has become my favorite lately as I can be aggressive and still have 600 ish charge time and techeun has under pressure plus high impact reserves and I know I've one shot more times then not when I've missed a bolt or 2... so a high range roll of this really claps. High impact fusions are still very impressive but depends on how good your opponent is and if your going up against aggressive shotgun people your going to be in trouble as they can slide and kill you before you shoot that over 900 charge time. That's why techeun feels great to me right now
Good to know thanks Lego I might be going back to my successful warmup harrowed midas reckoning cause 5 bolts is nice, though you did make some good points about precision frames 🧐
The amount of time you put into these kinds of videos is mind blowing!!
Commenting for the Algorithms and because Legoleflash makes some of the best Fusion Rifle, and heck even general Destiny Weapon science Content, which is clear and concise and doesn't make you feel like you're being talked down too for not understanding something 😊
Can't wait for the scatter signal video 😊
Perfect! Thanks as always, Lego!
Thanks for explaining this, I've never really known how to optimally run fusion rifles perk wise outside of the last two collumn perks. I also couldn't decipher what charge rate fusion was best for me.
Awesome breakdown my man
I am here “Fusion Lord”, what would you speak to us reformed shot gun apes today? Great video as usual sir!
Thank you for the hard work ❤
Incredible work Lego. You should be joining Merc at Bungie next on the weapons team!
The Burden of Guilt god roll…. I deleted it because of the charge time perk awhile ago ugh lol. It doesn’t matter much though because your last video got me to try Merciless and I can’t put it down in either PvP or pve which is really rare for a weapon in this game.
Oh I know that feel, but that's cool you're trying out merciless. Such a cool one.
Bungie not updating in-game stats correctly after changes has pissed me off for so long. I don’t care if I have to wait a bit for an update so that the information is consistent, *just make it consistent Bungie.*
Clutching my brand new crafted Royal Executioner after the Fusion Guide (BIG) prepping to watch this
Ope Snorri HIR mentioned. I'm not crying, you're crying.
I'm quickly becoming a fusion main with all the info you put out. You're doing awesome stuff here ❤
Another banger! Legoooo I’m telling you an adept plug one with charge time master work and mod is the best fusion in the game. Adept-esque speed with alllllll the benefits of precision.
fusion rifle king great vid man
Thank you! This is one I even find myself coming back to! Lots of good data here.
So thankful for this -
I think i played against you a couple of weeks ago. It was right after the ranking video released. You rolled us with your fusion and I was trying to fighting lion
You made such great videos
Appreciate it!!
Thank you for clearing this up. Sometimes bungie doesn't know how to properly explain the changes they themselves make.
Holy shit this vid quality is 🔥🔥🔥
Thank you!
Thanks a LOT for the comprehensive breakdown !
Just a quick question, I got a Pressurized Precision that would be a charge time MW god roll if it wasn't for Ionized Battery. I have the option of Liquid, but that seems overkill. I was wondering if Ionized Battery (mag size 7) would be enough to five bolt 10 resil at any point of the burst ? I tend to hit the first bolts way more than the next few, but maybe that's a skill issue because I don't precharge enough :p
nice work.
Another banger
Thank you
Thanks for all the info. How many bolts if a rapid has enhanced battery and high impact reserve?
Incredible information! Thank you :) I don't suppose you have a take on High-Impacts with Backup Plan though?....
Saw your 2 hour review vid and you talk about it there. Thank you!
When the goat speaks, I listen.
thank you lord voop
I don't even play anymore, but always interested in Lego's fusion rifle videos :)
So @legoleflash I had a question about mag perks that increase mag size by +1, do they help that first shot work with 5 bolts against 10 resil for adaptive frames? I have only a handful of burdens but they all go liquid or enhanced battery unfortunately.
The fusion god has spoken!!!!
I enjoyed it!
Thank you!
WOOO THIS IS WHAT WE'VE BEEN WAITING FOR!
Lego Question! Does ENHANCED HIR turn the Adaptive 1st shot FROM: 5-bolt (if last 5 bolts) -> TO 5-bolts like the 2nd shot?
Glad you asked this question, looking forward to testing the answer!
It felt like a throwaway line but could I get more info or the data behind "Impact stat only matters for swords"?
Glad i got a Loaded Question with Accellerated Coils/Charge Time/Adept Charge time in the vault huh
Oh nice a new go fast update 😉
Bless you
The fusion god has spoken
Accelerated coils dont change the charge time numbers but its a bug and it works?
So liquid coils ACTUALLY affects the charge time now? Previously it didn't change the charge time (even though it said it was supposed to)and just buffed damage.
Is this new?
Might be a dumb question, and maybe I missed it, but is the back up plan perk operating without damage penalty now? Just curious
7:27 you mean without the Kickstart, right? Or was the nerf too heavy? :(
Super useful video, I would've liked to see some Backup Plan testing too, but I think the 20% damage penalty is just slightly better than giving your 10 resilience target a 45 hp overshield, so I guess that section is kinda close enough.
Cartesian coordinate is gonna go off next season with all the solar artifact stuff coming too
Wouldve to see where Backup Plan fits in the mix
Is there a limit for how much you can decrease charge time for lfr’s
Does this mean an epicurean with a CT mw and backup plan can hit a 518 CT while keeping 64 damage?
So that should not only out damage and out range a rapid with liquid coils + HIR but it will have a shorter charge time as well... if so, that explains why it feels as insane as it does right now. That said, it will fire 2 less bolts..
If you're on controller, what sens are you using? I'm trying to get my shots as clean as yours with Tessellation.
I like this 👍
now i know my accelerated/hir snorri is good to use, i was worried it might not be :)
Yeah you're good to go!! :)
Fantastic effort, man. However I remain in an existential crisis as i just can't not use projection fuse for the extra reach.
Hey I FEEL ya. It is rare that I'll choose a charge time masterwork EVEN THOUGH it's free now. The cost of giving up +10 range is so high
@@Legoleflash just like life.......
😆🤓😜🖖
@@Philusteen HA!
Thanks for gettin SUPER NERDY with it...this type of info helps
Lego truly is our Fusion overlord ❤
Fusion King strikes again
Ah...so decreasing fusion damage with charge time masterwork for 5 years straight has been an ISSUE, not the feature. Nice work bungie...
It could possibly have been something they changed in a previous update but was bugged up until that particular patch. Therefore it would have been "fixing an issue".
@@seb5542 no, I play with fusions since game release, it was like that since forsaken - aka the moment this masterwork was born.
Maybe it wasnt an issue until it became an issue
@@Sargatas Yes it was like that in its initial release. I have also played with fusions since the games release, that's not exactly important information though lol.
The change to no damage penalty on all charge MW fusions was a byproduct of the attempt to fix an accidental loss of damage incurred on adepts and crafted fusions with a non charge MW that grants points to other stats coz a range MW was giving 3 stat points to the charge MW hence dropping damage which began around S20
@legoleflash what about backup plan?
Classic legoleflash W
Where do we join if we want to help in the destiny science community?
Great video, extremely helpful as always. I think I'll stick to my trusty Burden and Zealot's in their respective slots. Zealots remains criminally underappreciated by the uneducated masses. Until I zap them with it. 😎
Do charge time master work stack with the the adept mod??
So what you are saying is I should definitely not get rid of my Cartesian with both +2 zoom scopes, accelerated/projection fuse, under pressure, snapshot, and charge mw?
pretty awesome roll!
So for the fully crafted tacheun force must have full bore, under pressure, and high impact reserve whit time charge time masterwork? Right? what kind of coil must use for it? Thx nice vid
You don’t HAVE to have charge time masterwork, but I still prefer it for that free speed! 😄 I’d go projection fuse on the battery!
@@Legoleflash thank you legole you re the best 💪🏻
Watch this man's content!!! No one is doing anything close to this for fusions. Such a hated community voopers are. "Oh God there's a fusion on the other team with 10k crucible kills" 😈
I believe the impact stat also can change how much flinch a weapon gives. But that's a crackpot theory I came up with with little to no actual evidence or basis
Does this work with liner fusion?
Would High-Impact Reserves still be worth it on an Adaptive frame with a mag size of 8? This would theoretically reduce the damage of that 1st burst, right?
That will increase damage! So yes! Worth. And you’ll probably 5 bolt all resil even on the first shot!
@@Legoleflash Ah, this is great! Thank you so much for the response!
i think enhanced high impact reserves on adaptives lets you 5 bolt on the first shot on techeun force because its default magazine size is 6 so you're starting at 33% of your mag.
True I didn’t test enhanced. It is probably just enough
Iterative loop is my favorite fusion!
It's a beauty with this shader!
@@Legoleflash I put the Halloween shader on it just because but I enjoy the flashing light varieties of the neomuna weapons especially this one. On pve I got over 5 k kills, not a lot but I’ve been using more often but when I get off work probably going to put that charge mod and see if I like it better!
@@OMJNRG Nice! Yeah i feel like the charge time MW really shine on Adaptives/Precisions/High Impacts, but I used the Iterative thumbnail because it looks so freak'n awesome. haha!
What should I use on my high impact reserves presurized precision that has a charge time masterwork with the choice between liquid and accelerated coils?
Ideally, neither. But, since you’re stuck with one or the other on that specific roll, you’ll have to choose. Accelerated Coils will force you to be more accurate (land 6 bolts instead of 5, in many situations), but your low charge time will help you beat an opponent that’s also using an Adaptive frame fusion 1v1. Liquid Coils, unfortunately somewhat negates the advantage of wielding an Adaptive frame (speed), but at least you won’t get punished for landing 5 bolts (instead of 6).
@@BahamutBreaker what would you use?
I love that I can rely on Lego for knowing how fusions will be consistently
When you said "overshield and woven mail" my brain went YTP mode and changed it to "wovenshield and overmail and mailover" and now I need to see a YTP of you saying nonsense
So in theory Adaptives with Chargetime MW, Liquid Coils and High Impact Reserves would be king of the crucible right now for best mix of damage and Chargetime?
I would say JUST charge time Adaptive with HIR, no liquid needed in my opinion! Better off with Projection Fuse and keep your speed.
This feels like watching an early human figure out how to use tools
What weapon would you pair with a fusion in pvp? I’m using void iterative loop
This completely depends on your own personal playstyle, and which map you’re on.
Are you one of those goons that runs around with a Fusion Rifle readied 90% of the time? Then you probably want a SMG or sidearm that has a high Handling stat. Quickly swapping to the SMG or sidearm might “clean up” an opponent that has very low HP after a partial Fusion hit.
Or, are you instead a more ranged fighter, and just want your Fusion Rifle handy in case an opponent closes the gap on you rapidly? In that case, you could “main” a Pulse Rifle, Scout Rifle, or Bow.
That said, I wouldn’t usually recommend a Bow on a small map, nor a SMG on a very large map. Be flexible. Have a few options available in your inventory. Adjust to the map assigned to your lobby, and sometimes adjust to what your opponents are favoring.
@@BahamutBreaker woah you didn't have to write an essay for me tyyy
@@cardchipthesparkyferretboy2204 no problem. If I had just answered your question with a brief answer, like “use an auto rifle”, that would be giving you unhelpful information. Hope my advice helps you pick a primary weapon (or three) that complements your fusion.

I miss my Ash Raven’s Flight😢
Maybe im dumb, or that didn't talked in video - but what about crafted fusions?
Same thing! Charge time masterwork or crafted charge time, no change in damage.
