I can't find anywhere in the patch notes about updates to the drift handling, but after having played around with some cars with neutral/grip handling, I think there's definitely a difference. Not sure if it's just me though.

I honestly cant wait to finally make drift builds, like 350z, Rx-7 etc since they arent that good in regular races
Thing is, my favorite drift car this volume is the Crown Vic. I have it up in S+, but i could move some stuff around and have it easily down in S. Its at S+ 344. It has a 460 BHP 6.2L V8 in it that is tuned up to 789 HP, and 760 FtLbs of torque. Everything is Elite in the engine, Elite roots supercharger for better torque, Super NOS, Elite suspension, Pro brakes, Elite drift tires, Elite clutch, 6 Speed (5 speed drops it down to 328 so itd be in S class) Elite dif thats tuned at 70% drift. Its seriously fun to drive around in, and if it works, i hope itll do well in volume 3
Try out 4 speed & base clutch with the stock engine all maxed out, use manual and just stick to 3rd gear whole time
It slides so good all I’m doing is drifting these days

Thanks for that I just recently built a Skyline 180 for drift and starting to complete and knock over challenges. I will build some of these. Haven't placed in a Knockout in the story because of the drifting difficulty.

Haven’t played the update, but as someone who specializes in drift builds, I hope it’s not too different from what I’m used to
I’ve been playing around with the NSX in the S+ tear as a race car and man does it drift really nice it does everything you say and I didn’t even try build it for drift. It just doesn’t ants to drift so I may have to build it into a drift car. Such a fun car, super challanging to drive which I’ve enjoyed try in S+ teir never got a placing in it though, it’s not good for S+ with how I tried atleast. But a fun car :)
So happy to see recommendations for other cars than the usual suspects (rsr, f40 etc.) 🙏🏽

I use the Z06 in S class drifts, it’s a monster. I don’t think I’ve lost a single S tier drift playlist yet.

(Edit) also wondering in mixed tier plays list E.g B,A,A+ if I use a Nissan in the B race and other cars in the other 2 will I still get progress towards “finish 30 playlists in a Nissan”
I'm pretty sure you have to use the same for the whole playlist in order for it to count but I've been wondering this myself as well

I just found out the C6 Vette kinda fucking slaps.
Drives like a dream, looks like a nightmarish beast while doing so.
Very easy to micro-drift with it, and it can chain drifts like a maniac thanks to its torque. It does act quite nervous, and it tends to fish-tail aggressively, but it's easier to manage than it looks.
I would recommend playing around with it. Used a pretty basic drift build with it and it is otherworldly. The best car to do drift zones with BY FAR.
Edit: I have been playing around, and I found this is actually the best setup for it.
Engine: stock, no engine swaps.
Engine parts: All stock, except for roots supercharger [elite]. Stock nitrous.
Chassis: Offroad suspension [sport], stock brakes, drift tyres [pro].
Transmission: Stock clutch, 6speed, differential [super].
85% drift, -4 steering sensitivity, -5 downforce. Traction control off, brake and acc tap to drift (default).
It is staggering how well it performs.

Side note on the Volvo 242 DL, You can throw some better brakes at it(sport) and stay in A+, not sure if that matters or not.

I think I’m gonna like the drift events because it seems like the “best build” per se is going to be whatever feels best to drift for you, whereas with racing there’s only a couple cars that are viable at the top of each class. Still don’t like that drift in unbound is measured using distance, though :/ heat’s drift scoring system was way better.
It’s not measured that way in the drift playlists

I tested it...didnt care for its handling. Ill be going back to it eventually, but it did not make the cut compared to these 5 cars.
The rx7 is only good in s+

The NSX used to be my main drift car. However it’s weighted so weirdly to where it feels like it’s heavy in the front end, so you understeer. But whenever you initiate a drift, it will either severely understeer or oversteer and fishtail for some reason. I DO NOT recommend putting a stronger engine in this car unless you just wanna do straight lines. Maybe after this update it’s different.

Bro when tf halve yall last raced an ACTUAL drift car in the car. No just some speed machine that can grip justttttt enough to get some stupid boost. THE BOOST DOESNT ALWAYS MATTER GUYS just slide the damn thing. Yall would know you wouldnt alwats need boost if you put the drift tune higher cause yknow LESS GRIP
4 out of the 5 builds in this video have the drift slider at 100% Drift.

This game has one of the worst drift Physics ever created for a racing game, it looks so bad. Why they cant just saw the work hayeduce has made with drift mod and try to introduce some of that to the vanilla game
You use the wrong setup or wrong car most likely. Theres some videos showing off great drifting skills and it looks good.
They literally updated the drift physics it way better than before maybe your just trash at it or your car build is garbage
