I know someone who went through that, I’m young enough and my uncle went through a lot I think I met him once but he’s gone in and out so many times it’s heartbreaking to hear from my grandmother this really needs to reach more people I hope this goes viral

Great Topic. I went for cannabis induced psychosis and its honestly a joke if they expect to treat people awfully and them get better

My husband was "sold" on going for a depression episode. She said it was like a weekend getaway. He knew immediately upon entry it was a prison. And once you sign you need a doctor's note to get out, atleast that's what they said and it was a Friday and the doctor wasn't in til Monday.

Yea that’s a really messed up thing I didn’t go into detail about, doctors keeping patients as long as they feel like

I used to say to my parents, when I was a teenager that was doing lots of weed and psychedelics, that they should let me die before being locked into a psych ward. In recent years I changed my opinion, and would rather be in a place like that than kill myself, mainly because I think there is a high likelihood at this point that humanity will reach longevity escape velocity, and that dying now would mean missing out on an eternity of potentially very high quality experience. Still, those places are spooky. The lack of agency around regulating my own state and intake of food and drugs is very disturbing, something I could only justify if I were very far gone.

Almost sounds like prison. Maybe even worse. A part of me believed that this was happening in the system, but another part said "No, we are not THAT bad as people". I mean, think about it, these people are supposed to be caretakers and helpers. Unfortunately, I believe what you are saying is true. Thank you for sharing.

I've been in mental hospitals 3 or 4 times up until 2011. None of them were bad where I live. i was in some in greensburg, monroeville, and pittsburgh. They were all really nice. nice staff. However, if you dont want to end up in a mental hospital you need to work on yourself. Work on reprogramming how you see reality. Work on rewriting negative thoughts and working with your subconscious mind. i dont have any mental health issues today, but I worked very hard on myself for 10 years. If you do the work you can heal yourself. Also many people have mental health issues because of candida and their diets.

You’re right that they can they can vary based on location. Florida is notoriously bad, where I was for most of them. I can’t speak on the areas you mentioned

help me understand please, If you have an addiction, why do they put you in a psych ward as oppose to a drug rehab?

I ended up in the psych ward when I experienced drug induced mania/psychosis. I have also been in drug rehab

It's not because of the addiction, its because of the psychosis

Mental behavioral health with chemical dependency.
You can’t help someone that does not want the help. Stay compliant. Talk to a therapist. If you’re not ready, you’re not ready then.
