Hi Aarushi, I have been working at Zoho for the product called Zoho Books for the past 2 years in the customer facing role. I have build my aptitude in product, customer analysis and developed a good portfolio. I am trying to switch to PM teams internally and externally for the past 1 year but nothing works out.
Mostly they say my portflio is good, my interview is good ..but reject me since i dont have experience in PM. Is there a sure shot way to land any role related to product.
I am open to lower my salary or to join in unconfirmed intern positions as well. I am also okay with spending my savings in MBAs, online courses etc. Please suggest something that may workout. I felt your video to be more pin pointed to the exact topic. It would be great if you dont give me some generic advice like others.

Hi! When I was in my final year of MBA, I too applied at many places and there was no traction for one full year.
Many places don’t want to engage with someone who is still studying. You’ll have to be a bit patient here.
Another thing I would recommend is to ask people in your network to help.

Hello, Aarushi. I have roughly 12 years of hotel operations manager (leadership experience) but lost my position during covid in April 2020 and then worked for 2 years as a Sales Manager in an edtech firm. Started learning Project Management in January through Google via coursera and ended in May. Later, I became interested in Product Management and chose CSM and CSPO (Certified now). Now I've started looking for Product Management jobs and have sent nearly 500 applications, but so far no luck and I'm still waiting for opportunities. Please advise me on how to land my first Product Management position.
Hey. I would recommend a couple of things - think deep before picking product. Your why product answer should be clear to you. You have so many years of operations experience, why not build your expertise there itself?
@@techproductgirl Aarushi, Hotels are not doing good and after covid hotels are massively impacted. I see many of my friends are suffering. Reason why i wish to join Product because of several reasons - interested in both business and technology, enjoy problem-solving, great communicator, wish to shape the forward direction of a business etc.

The reason why I am pushing for it that you’ll likely find it easier to break there. Otherwise you should network a lot.
