Hamed beat everyone in front of him like Joe Calzaghe. The difference was Naz actually ventured to the US and it wasn't his fault that there was nobody rushing to move up to featherweight (from the legendary mexican trio) to fight Naz + Naz's physique + size was never going to let him move up to Lightweight or Light-Welter + still be effective (whilst Joe's can...cuz he's a big guy).
Barrera wasnt the 1st 'real test'. He was however the biggest test, and Barrera is a legend- no doubt.

Cracks me up people seriously suggesting that these 2 could fight a supermiddle vs a featherweight.

I remember Naz hit Eubank and Eubank laughed in his face. It was in the papers.
Eubank is a boxing legend but like most boxers he fought after his prime and lost is respect as a boxer, i still got respect for him and he will always be a legend in my eyes.

Eubank only gained respect from the Calzaghe fight…!

How the fuck can Ingle say Eubank could only dream of having Naseems talent? Eubank had a far better career.

Hamed was rated number 1 p4p in the world by many at the time. He's right, talent wise Naseem was up there with the best and definitely the more talented of the two. His problem was his lack of sticking to the fundamentals and when he split with Ingle he wasn't the same any more. It's debatable which one had the better career although Eubank was never rated as highly as Hamed in the US and UK so I'd probably go with Nas as he did beat some pretty solid fighters and only ever lost to an excellent fighter in Barrera.

Yeah, fair enough mate. Cant beat a good Boxing argument! haha. I remember the Naz vs Barrera fight, I was gutted when Naz lost, shame he went downhill after this fight, would have loved to have seen him have a rematch, then fight Morales. Them 3 could have had a rivalry like Haggler, Hearns and Leonard. 3 quality fighters in the same weight division. Shame Naz just faded away. Could have achieved so much more and had more big career defining fights. Just my opinion though
