Quick and detailed review! Love gel-like padding and the organization is very functional. Looks like a great EDC & short travel bag. Still undecided on this or the Modern Dayfarer V2 or Daybreaker V2 to replace my old Mantis 26 for travel / larger EDC.
Thank you for watching and I’m glad the video was helpful! The dayfarer v2 is another great one, I prefer the aesthetic and harness on this one, but love that that one has a separate laptop and shoe compartment so definitely a tough choice
Great video review! Extremely helpful for anyone looking for a high-quality backpack. Great EDC and travel bag. The comparison at the end of the video was the best 👍.
The divider in the quick access top pocket may be a problem, but overall I love what I’m seeing about this pack. The black version is a bit dull and uninteresting, but the bronze one shown on the Bellroy website looks adorable. I’d say the pack is perfect for a boomer minimalist like me who travels overseas with only a carry-on bag which needs to double as a hiking pack.
Hey Danny! Great review, I'm glad Bellroy sent you a unit to review! I was very undecided between this and the CHZ26, as in my eyes they're similar-ish. But I feel like they fumbled with the quick access pocket being on the flap. If you forget to close the zipper on the QA pocket, and open the main compartment, your stuff would definitely fall out of it.
Thank you for watching and I agree on the similarities between this and the chz! For my preferences I prefer having the quick access on the flap just because it makes it a little easier to grab my laptop but can definitely understand the concern with everything falling out if I forget to zip it up 😅
great review, as usual! I'd really like to see you review the Vertx Gamut bags and compare it to this one. They should be a similar size and feature layout, but would be interesting to see how they are different in practice.
Thank you for watching and for the support! Great suggestion as well, I’ve only used one Vertx bag so far but it was pretty nice and hope to check out some more from the in the future!
Not a bad backpack, but definitely not at that price. I'm looking more closely at the Alpaka Elements Pro and the Osprey Parsec 26, which seem to have more comfortable harnesses, better internal organization, & are cheaper.
Lack of a separate laptop compartment is a dealbreaker for me these days. I do not want to open the bag to access my laptop. I imagine this works best for people that are just transporting their laptop to a destination rather than pulling it out often on the go.
@@azpower1000 I think my favorite bag at the moment has been the CPL24 but I just purchased the CTB26 and that sounds like it fills all the gaps that the CPL24 has. So I’m excited to try it out and I expect that to become my go to bag for the foreseeable future.
Thanks for the video, very helpful. Do you know if it would work on Japan Airlines as a personal item? I will bring another carry-on and would like to use this bag as my personal item bag. Also does it fit smaller frame folks like myself?
great and helpful breakdown as always! Compared to the 22L venture, how does this one measure up volume wise? I know it's advertised as a 4L difference but was wondering if you could offer any thoughts after real world usage. Thanks!
It's an interesting bag for sure, probably covers a range of scenarios. But I think they haven't quite got it right. Not convinced by the divider in the top pocket
Great review! I am looking for a school backpack and this backpack and bellroys other venture bag looks promising. Do you think that this backpack will be able to hold a couple school binders comfortablely?
Congrats on getting the CTB26!!🎉 although I really like this one, the CTB for my preferences is as close to perfect as a bag has come, hope you enjoy it!:)
Thank you for watching and for the support! Definitely a tough choice, I find the bellroy a little more comfortable and I like the it has an external water bottle pocket and does hold its shape so it compresses down a bit more, but I like the separate laptop compartment in the yeti more, it has a nice luggage passthrough and it also feels more weather resistant so it depends on your preferences in those areas
Would you prefer this over the MR catalyst as an everyday pack? Carrying a laptop, tablet, tech pouch, chargers, raincoat and a sweater (I’m in an out of the pack a lot.
Thank you for watching! Although I really like both I might lean slightly towards this one as I prefer the aesthetic and top access pocket, I do however really like that the catalyst 26 has the dedicated laptop area
Thanks for a great review! I know litre-wise it's bigger, but does it feel any bigger than the Ventire 22L pack or are they pretty much similar? I love the look of this 26L Venture but worried it's too big. Thanks!
Thank you for watching and I’m glad the video was helpful! It’s a little taller and bigger but it doesn’t feel a lot bigger than the venture imo since it doesn’t have a rigid structure
Hey, I have the bag and its looks small, but fits quite a bit. I'm actually shocked, considering that Bellroy's said literage doesn't usually match up with my other midsize travel/EDC bagpacks (Evergoods 26 CTB Phoenix and 24L Phoenix, AER 24 L City Pack Pro). It's a bit baller than my wife's Transit Workpack 20 L, but does not look much bigger. I was able to fit their Venture 10 L camera edition sling at the bottom of the bag, a Peak Design small packing cube, Sony headphones, A CAP 1 Evergoods pouch and a travel puffer jacket in the main compartment. The flip down top pouch surprisingly fits a ton of EDC stuff. The 2 things that are making me reconsider keeping it are the lack of a luggage pass through (they could've easily added one vertically between the gel back panel), and the fact that unless you strategically place a square/rectangular packing cube or camera cube, etc.., IT WILL NOT STAND UP ON IT"S OWN.. Really want to keep it since I have matching slings 6 and 10 L (Nightsky colorway), and it's IMHO their most attractive and versatile backpack. I also have on pre-order, a Boundary Supply Errant Pro X-pac bag for smaller camera carry needs (Sony A75R and 2 lenses) ETA October. Hope this helps, Cheers!!
Hey Danny, good review, I know it's 26L vs 20L but curious in real world use if this really holds that much more than the transit workpack in the main compartment. Workpack holds a surprising amount so wasn't sure. Does it hold noticeably more? Does it feel noticeably bigger on the back?
Thank you for watching and I’m glad the video was helpful! It definitely feels a little taller and can hold a little more but I wouldn’t say it’s a huge difference especially since the transit has that separate laptop compartment vs the one in this one that’s in the main area
Thank you for watching and definitely a tough choice! The city pack will be better if you need a dedicated laptop sleeve or want a bag with a little more structure whereas the venture has a more rugged appearance and a simpler layout
@@dannypacks I need to find a bag like the CCP with the admin area of the TP3. I like having more admin spots for EDC with flashlight, knife, pens, etc.
Thank you for watching! Ok the bottom row, the one to my right shoulder is the Fjallraven raven 28 and to my left shoulder is the tortuga setout laptop backpack
Thank you for watching! I really like both and for the gym the dayfarer has the advantage for the fact it has the shoe compartment (I also prefer that it has a separate laptop compartment), but overall I would go with the venture because I like the look and harness a bit more
Thank you for watching! Overall I think this one is better as the strap padding is thicker and the back panel feels more robust and provides better breathability
I like the organization of this bag, but it looks weakly built to me. The straps look very thin and almost afterthought. The tripod keeper looks thin and weak. It just looks to me like it won't hold up well. That's just my observation without handling it though.
I really appreciate the lighting, makes it easy to really see the backpack. Other vids don’t do a great job with their lighting.
Thank you for watching and I’m glad the video was helpful!:)
Thanks for the great Review. I really apreciate the comparison at the end of the video.

I already use a couple of their day slings; I hadn’t considered them for a daypack. Nice review! Nice pack!

In what situation do you need to access your laptop so frequently on the go?
ORDERED IT.
i think there is no separate laptop compartment because this is also an outdoor bag, which would be a wasted compartment when doing a day hike

Do you think a 12.9 in iPad Pro could fit in the document compartment? I typically like to carry that along with a 14 in laptop.
Hey Danny, if you had to choose, would you orefer this or the able carry daybreaker 2?
Thank you for watching! Both are solid options, in general I prefer the harness and additonal organization provided on this one

No luggage pass-through for this size and price is a NO NO for me
