BTW, this is JYP's Japanese group, and they are singing in Japanese
In case you didn't pick up on it, the rap referenced songs from previous JYP girl groups - Itzy, Twice, Miss A and Wonder Girls!
It's worth pointing out that this shouldn't really be considered kpop, it's definitely jpop, even if it is a Korean company.
Niju is not a jpop. It is obviously kpop music and it is simply Japanese.
Foreigners may not know, but when jyp started the NiJiproject, he made it clear that he would create a KPOP girl group made up of Japanese. This is a very sensitive story for most Koreans and no one knows this except for some foreigners. It is the same meaning that TWICE is doing authentic KPOP even though it has Japanese members.
For JYP, Japanese is just a tool. Niju's music is not JPOP. They still stop at JYP accommodation in Seoul, Korea.
@@user-kv4ms8mj7l Mm, that's what makes it interesting to think about, no? To me they are a jpop group that is trained by a kpop company. Until they release music in Korean, that is. Perhaps the best way to describe them would be as a kpop/jpop hybrid. I don't think it's the same as a group like Twice or any other group in kpop that has Japanese members, regardless of whether or not they have released music in Japan before. Not yet, anyhow.
@@oliverhughes610 I can understand your thoughts because the definition and distinction of kpop is not clear. It is a difference of thoughts. But there is a problem with simply distinguishing it by language. For example, if Ariana Grande sings his song in a Korean version, it is Korean, but it is not kpop. What I want to say is this.

My favourite girl was Akari through the whole thing, still gutted she didn't make it, but I'm sure JYP has a plan for her somewhere down the line. I'm still happy with the final lineup though! There were a few such as Mako and Miihi that you just kinda knew would make it by the end, but it was really cool seeing Mayuka rise up the ranks so quickly after her rap in the Heartbeat performance seeing as how before that she didn't get much screentime at all before that She quickly became one of my favourites too :)
Ya it feels like Mako was in before the show even started JYP just wanted to see if she had leadership material and turns out yup
apparently, jyp didn't want to risk adding Akari when she had health issues but I definitely was rooting for her too 😭😭

I'm really excited about the girls' future because this song was already so catchy, popular, and an interesting mix of kpop and jpop. I also watched the show and I definitely see why JYP does them as I'm already invested in the group with this being their only official song. It would be surprising if this group doesn't blow up like Twice.
You guys should watch I-land! It’s a new show to put together another boyband. This one is from Big Hit Entertainment and has a very original concept. There are now three episodes out, you can watch them on Viki (rakuten). Every friday a new episode comes out and Big Hit airs it on their own channel, so you can watch it like you would with a normal series. I believe it airs at around 5pm cest... you’ll have to convert that into the right time yourself because I have no idea what timezone I should use haha. I also want to say I’m very grateful for your react series, since the episodes have been keeping me entertained during this quarantine! So thank you and keep it up! :)

ps jyp is way toned down now... a decade ago he was much harsher and all his songs had a very distinct "JYP" at the start :)

I’ve see the show, and I think for the first time I’ll stan a Japanese group.
I'm a bit confused why they decided to have 4 choruses instead of replacing 1 of them with a vocal bridge or dance break to show off the talents of the other girls, at least the rappers got to show off. Mayuka best girl btw.
I think it's more of a Jpop thing, I feel like lots of akb48 and nogizaka46 songs tend to be longer and have like a billion choruses

Yes it is formed by JYP who predominantly produces kpop and the methods to form this group are the same thing that are used to create kpop but you have to realize that they are singing in Japanese and cater to a Japanese audience. Just because they’re East Asians singing and dancing doesn’t automatically make them KOREANS. My head hurts as to why you do not get that part🥲
