      there is a place for everyone at camp! Any skill is special no matter your level, as long as you have a passion for it, camps will love that! There are also so many other roles at camp that you could be asked to take on and when a camp sees your application and realise that your personality will fit perfectly at their camp, they will reach out to you! All the best, camp is so so special!

If you are planning on travelling with a van/car/RV, just make sure you have a couple people in your travel group who do have their licence. :)

      You can ask your agency but chances are you'll get hired by different camps, it's honestly the best experience to go to where you don't know anyone and can almost be whoever you want to be within yourself and make friends on your own merit. You can always meet up after camp again

      its so much fun! bring a neck pillow and wear really comfy clothes, My biggest tip is to take your own snacks, I usually bring a whole avocado and crackers and other snacks bc aeroplane food makes me feel ikkk and makes me face break out. Also try sleep on the flight while its nighttime at your destination so try and normalise your sleep schedule :)

    Hi, I wanted to apply for 2021, but i have to say after reading the programm agreement, i got quite scared 😂 When they mention that with a J-1 Visa we have to do a cultural activity once every week and then report on it, i wanted to know if you did do that? because no one really mentions it in their videos, so i'm kinda confused on what it is about!

    • @emilypamio8148
      @emilypamio8148  Před 3 lety +1

      hey, this is a formality and no need to stress over it. Cultural activities include simply being at camp overseas, eating US food, campfires, swimming in the lake, your camp's 4th of July celebrations, camp traditions and going to Walmart. Your camp will give you opportunities and reminders to fill out the form on your agencies website (e.g. CCUSA) every 30 days while you're at camp, usually 1 month in and then at the end of your time at camp :)

      @@emilypamio8148 ohh okay that makes more sense, thank you so much for taking the time to reply!
      I had another question, quite an important one actually, so they are asking to choose at least 4 types of camp, the thing is i would be really comfortable doing two of then, then the third type i’d be down too!! but when it comes to the fourth one, i don’t know if i could see myself in it. It’s kind of like a forced pick because of the 4 different types request.
      Did you feel like this too? what were your 4 picks ? and should i mention it at some point, or not say anything at all ? 😬

    • @emilypamio8148
      @emilypamio8148  Před 3 lety +1

      @@evatbn i picked traditional, specialty, girl scout of religious camps. Religious camps doesn't mean that you'll be placed at bible camps, its most likely quite the opposite, as most traditional style camps have a religios affiliation. e.g. Most camps on the east coast of the US have campers from progressive Jewish families in NY, Long Island, Connecticut etc. Once you've selected religious, you can just write in a small paragraph that you're not comfortable at a strict religious camp and prefer not to be teaching religion and you'll be sweet! Good luck! :)
