CENTER PIN SECRETS BY MIKE PERUSSE, KEITH GRAHAM, JAKE ZERKLE AND MIKE MCGOVNEY
Fishing action for giant rainbows and acrobatic steelhead that can't resist the perfect presentation that center-pin float fishing provides. On crowded waters and pressured fisheries center-pin float fishing exceeds all other techniques by delivering a perfect drag-free drift of baits, lures, and flies. There is no other method that can match how the extra-long center-pin rods and super-smooth single-action reels allow a float to run.
The reason you now see both tackle and fly shops stocking up on center-pin gear is that "The Secret is Out". This technique, developed by European Tournament anglers decades ago, is now producing sensational results on a wide variety of North American species. It is said that fish have a small brain but huge instincts. It's instinct that tells a fish not to take when a presentation isn't completely natural. Center-pin float fishing gives you the perfect presentation...BAR None.
Hosting this one-of-a-kind production is Mike Perusse. Mike is an exceptional angler who has guided professionally. In the video he fishes Alaska's Kenai River for giant rainbows with World Wide Angler Fly Shop owner Keith Graham and pro-guide Jacob Zirkle of Alaska Fly Water Guides.
On a second outing, to demonstrate the art of center-pin fishing, he joins another avid fly-fisher and shop owner turned center-pin fanatic, Mike McGovney. Together they deliver great angling action and all the details on center-pin steelheading.

I am not sure how this video has not been seen 200,000 times by now?!
An excellent video and the crew was really working and talking, explaining it in plain language.
Amazing. Even 15 years after it was recorded, not much had changed…basic moves are the same and most of the gears are still very similar if not the same.
    Great educational material.👍
    Thank you.

I own this dvd and it taught me a ton about center pinning, so much so that I have landed chinook and chum salmon on a center pin.

I have 2 Pin set ups my first is a TFO with a Okuma Aventa reel, my new go to is a BER pin with a 25lb drag and a Bloodrun Skein Cane HD rod. Last Tuesday on my first trip with my BER hooked 19 kings landed 10 released all but 4 to eat. The best pin in my opinion perfectl balanced could fish it all day.

i know i’m late - if anyone sees this would not having any backing on the reel cause me more problems as far as casting, getting caught, and tangles?
I started this season and learned pretty fast after joining the dark side i can cast pretty well too but it did take a few day trips to get comfortable with it.. my problem is about 2 out of 10 casts i am getting back spooled and i don’t know if it’s cause i did a sloppy job on spooling it and it’s
not tight or if it’s cause i didn’t put any backing on it and so there’s a lot of space on the spool

Good ol boy from g loomis with the undercut racism lol "whats different from these reels than the ones from the orient" I forget how many racists live in the PNW.
