- With the recent unexpected passing of Pat Goss, MotorWeek lost not just a contributor, but a friend, mentor and an irreplaceable pillar of our program. Now out of respect, we will soon be retiring the Goss’ Garage feature, but Pat left us with a few remaining unaired segments, and we know he would want to share them with you. So, here’s Pat with a few tips for when your rockers start to rust.

My condolences to the motorweek family for your loss. I’ve watched your show since I was a little boy. Mr Goss taught me a lot of things about cars that built my basic knowledge and understanding of cars.
Same here, im only 19 and just from watching retro reviews I've picked up so much basic knowledge from him, he feels like that automotive enthusiast uncle some of us never had. R.I.P Pat
Shocked to hear off Pat's passing! My condolences to his family and friends
Thank you for everything, Pat Goss. You were an automotive legend.
Mr. Goss has taught me a lot over the course of my life, and this video is exactly what I needed for my car.
Rest in peace brother.
Missing him greatly. RIP legend. Condolences to the MW family.
However, I wish that you guys could just replay his segments from years past and keep his memory with us, as he has done so much for the viewers and the show.
Regardless, thank you MotorWeek for bringing this great soul to our screens for so many years and thank you Pat for being in my life.
All the blessings.
MM
I agree. He left a wealth of automotive knowledge that some younger viewers might have never seen. I too wish they would do a "classics" segment, at least every once in awhile, to keep his memory and priceless advice alive.
@@bogotabro Cheers to that and agreed!
MotorWeek has been part of me from age 18 to nearly 59 now. Truly amazing. So much respect for the entire staff---past and present.
I look forward to the remaining segments from Pat Goss. There is something magical about seeing unaired footage from a man who is greatly missed.
My condolences for Pat’s family and the Motor Week family.
Man sad to hear Pat passed away! He looked great especially for the age of 80. Rest in peace pat thank you for all the info over the years!
Sorry for your loss. 😔 I have been watching MW since the late 80's.
Mr Goss........The People's mechanic
My deepest condolences to the his family and friends, and his motorweek family! Rip🙏Pat Goss! You’re definitely will be missed! Gone way too soon!
I have to say, i started watching your program when i was 10, on PBS, before the days of cable or even ON TV, for those of you that remember. I learned a lot about cars from Mr. Goss, one of the main things that I picked up from him, don't be scared of a machine others built. Obviously i didn't learn that at 10yo, but over the next few years, this program and more specifically Pat showed me it was possible to figure out and simple than just operating a mechanism that just seemed too complicated to understand. Aside from todays vehicles, think more along the lines of a carburator and filiment bulbs, but i would have to say that he was one of my first influences into mechanics. Anyway, just thought I'd share that with strangers, maybe his family will randomly read it to make them feel just a smidge better.... Rest in Peace Pat. Thanks for your help over the years!

RIP Pat Goss. Thanks for all the dedication and education for millions of viewers whom you helped become car enthusiasts over the years. You will be missed!
Massive love to the Goss family x
Thank you for all the insight over the years, Pat‼️
I’m 38 and have been watching Motorweek since 1995
This one REALLY hurts. Aside from Click & Clack, Pat was instrumental in teaching me everything I know about the mechanical side of cars & diagnosing car problems today.
I agree!!!❤️
Condolences to Pat’s family and friends. I’ve enjoyed Pat’s segments on Motorweek for over 30 years, literally my entire life. His segments were short, but directly to the point. I’ve learned a wealth of great “top tips”, and his advise always served as an excellent primer that sparked further research on the topic being presented. I lost my Dad last year, his loyal viewership of Motorweek throughout my life saw me grow up watching Pat every week. Even though my Dad was a GM engineer, we both learned a lot of good advise from Pat over the years. After my Dad passed, the familiarity of Motorweek, especially Goss’ garage, always brought smile to face as it immediately took me back to my childhood of watching the show with Dad on Saturday afternoons. Thank you Pat, you’ve made a positive impact on my life and you’ll be sorely missed. Condolence’s to the Motorweek Family.
I offer my condolences to the friends, family and staff of Motorweek for the loss of Pat Goss. Pat's knowledge, visual learning references and encouraging, up-beat tone have been an automotive staple in my life for 25 years. Thank you John and MPT for giving Pat the opportunity to become a veteran member of television's original automotive magazine
Very sad news. I really learned a lot from him and considered him an old friend who shared my affinity for DYI car repairs. He will be greatly missed. I hope MW decides to do a Goss' Garage "classics" segment, at least every once in awhile, to keep his legacy and priceless advice alive. He left us a wealth of knowledge that some younger viewers might have never seen. Please replay some of his "greatest hits" from time to time.
A useful subject, and a well executed introduction to it.
Ride into paradise MR.Goss i grew up watching motorweek from the late 80s early 90s i was always hyped to see what new reviews for the cars or trucks i may purchase when im of age and have money saved MOTORWEEK WHAT DREAMS ARE MADE OF thank you 😊
I remember growing up watching motorweek in the 80s and 90s as a child.... Pat Goss segments were highly influential in me deciding to make a career out of being a mechanic/technician. He lived a great long life and will be missed

WOW I just can't believe it. Hard to take in. He's such an integral part of the show.
RIP Pat, I remember hearing you on TV way back in the 2000s when I was growing up
This is both heartbreaking... and heartwarming.
Rest in piece. Been watching since I was a little kid getting up early on Saturday to watch Motorweek with my dad now I still watch when I can.

I’m so sad. Rip 🥺
RIP Mr.Goss
I didn't always agree with your opinion but you were an honest mechanic and that's always been rare. 🚚🚙🚗
Always sad to loose a legend.
He has been doing this segment almost as long as I have been alive. Soo Sad, best whishes to his family!
Pat was the GOAT
R. I. P. 🙏🏻
I’m not super familiar with Pat Goss outside of the few clips I’ve seen on CZcams (since my bastard PBS station doesn’t air MotorWeek on ANY of its FOUR CHANNELS) so I don’t know Pat’s legacy as well as other fans. I still know he was important to a lot of viewers with the few videos I’ve seen and it’s still incredibly tragic he passed away. He’s definitely going to be missed. I’m sad I didn’t even know until two weeks later.
Sorry to hear of Pat's passing, motorweek wont be the same
very sorry we lost Pat he was somebody who might truly admired very deeply his place in heaven is very well earned
Rip Pat Goss I learned a lot from you over the years
My condolences. 🙏
I wonder if Pat Goss was able to finish up the Maxton Rollerskate restoration. I remember seeing that series when I was a kid and loved it. Such a huge loss for MotorWeek.
Rest In Peace Mr. Goss
i loved pat
Sorry Pat, I know you're not there anymore, but I've done those fiberglass mesh backed hole repairs and they never ever work for any length of real time. The only solution is to cut out the rot and weld in new steel.
Aww pat will be missed may he rest in peace
I'll sure miss hearing that voice...
RIP Pat Goss.
forever missed
Rest in Peace Pat!
🙏
Once a car has some serious rust on it, it is only a matter of time before something else really big starts to fail, and then a little while after that something else starts to fail, and then suddenly within a matter of 6 to 12 months it cost less per month to simply buy a NEW car than to spend money on repairs to keep the old car going. So if the old car is rusting, just patch it with some bondo knowing that it's only got 2 more years of life before it's toast. Save up for the new car soon.
❤️
♥
MotorWeek just isn’t the same without Pat Goss. RIP
Wow I’m sorry on that I’ve watched this over 30 years
🌹
🙏🏽😔🙏🏽
Wow.. he aged very well and such a huge lose..
You take an old license plate and screw on the side of the car.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂🐒🐒
I don’t remedy rust, I just buy a new car.
