Why Is Chicago Suing Glock For Criminals Using Glock Switches?
Vložit
- čas přidán 6. 04. 2024
- Glock doesn't even make these switches, and it's illegal to own one. So why would you sue a company over a product it doesn't even make and that is already illegal?
Also, calling Glock switches weapons of mass destruction is Just CRAZY and reckless hyperbole designed to scare people whose knowledge of guns comes from movies.
I know it seems counterintuitive, but Glocks with switches shoot too fast to be effective at shooting a bunch of people.
But these people are clever. They're creating state laws to circumvent federal laws, like the Illinois Firearms Industry Responsibility Act, or FIRA, passed last year.
The law allows gun manufacturers to be held accountable for public harm caused by action or inaction from their sales and marketing practices.
You see how sneaky they are. Oh, we're not suing them because the criminals are using their guns, we're suing them because they won't take the steps to make their guns safer.
I know it's just as stupid but remember the goal isn't to win, the goal is to bring one case after another to bankrupt the company.

Instead of locking up criminals they sue a gun manufacturer
It all about control and while doing that aslo making money in the same time lol
Felons are caught with guns all the time, lucky if they serve 6 months time! They know the system is a joke and protects them!
kinda weird they picked a switch that has the glock logo on it...almost as if...............the cops put it on there.....hmmm

maybe instead of blaming glock take responsibility for your terrible choices
It is, very "woke" of him. Blaming others for the horrible weak leader he is. And the poor choices he's made, because of it.
i feel that, but it is weird that they don't just make them without removable backplates. but whatever shit doesn't affect me lmfao. i live in a state that lets it's residents carry guns, as such we don't see these sorts of silly people running around (as Much)
I'm still waiting for someone to explain to me how machine guns are more dangerous than semi autos.
A 'Progressive' Leftist Politician taking responsibility for the backwards policies they push? They'd sooner watch their city burn than take responsibility for anything.
@TheAdequateMedia the gun is assembled with that plate not installed. It's not their for fashion. Without it, various parts couldn't find their way into the slide to make it function.
It's like suing Toyota for allowing terrorists mount machine guns on their trucks.
😂
😭😭😭😭😭
🤣
This sounds like a ridiculous comparison, but it is exactly the same thing.
Let's sue all auto makers because drunk people get behind the wheel and hurt people.
Do they press charges against automobile manufacturers when a drunk driver kills someone driving?
Good question, that's how stupid their logic seems to be
For that matter, why not include the bar or liquor store the alcohol was purchased from, as well as whoever made the alcohol..
they should, because why else are there cup holders in cars?
Been tried, more than once.
And also, because they can't or don't want, to go after those responsible for crash.
And with how messed up US courts are, it should be no surpise people try. I recall case where trucking company was found liable millions in compensation, because speeding car slipped on snowy road, went into opposing lane and crashed into a truck. Somehow trucking company was found at fault, based on argument that if truck was not driving that day, there would be no accident.
@@Riceball01 You can, in fact, sue a business for overserving or letting someone drive who's drunk.
Sounds like Glock needs to sue the city of Chicago for allowing criminals to modify and illegally acquire Glock pistols.
That's a great point 👍
Nice
Exactly
That would be funny showing Chicago has been negligent in maintaining a safe environment by not preventing the switches from being used. Arguably not much different from failing to use the gun safety measures the gun control group wants. If they can try to go after people for not using a trigger guard, the city can be accountable for not doing more.
Or better yet, get a lobby to remove all ammo, sales and parts support from all agencies in that state.
An ATF agent calling a full auto pistol a WMD is literally proof we need to disband the ATF immediately
It was pretty damn embarrassing to listen to him saying that. SMH
Fully agree.
@@fleatactical7390
Even funnier that it's more likely to destroy the user with a limp wrist
By definition a WMD is only CBRN. Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear. Such as a nuke or hydrogen bomb. Small arms, especially a tiny pew pew like a handgun absolutely do not meet the definition. This is proof the people who make laws have zero clue on the issue.
WMD = nuclear bomb
"Weapon of mass destruction" . This phrase has so little meaning now.
This was the comment I was looking for. Glock Switches... literal genocide 🙄
That's what politically insane leftists do. They think words have infinite power so they use terms like racist, nazi, bigot, and now calling guns WMDs. These terms have been watered down to such a degree that barely anyone cares anymore.
These fists are weapons of mass destruction.
quick send in the army lol
like the switches would upgrade the guns to shoot nuclear charges... 🤣
City of Chicago got money for everything and everybody but improving the quality of life for the people that actually live there
So, an accessory, not made by Glock, that can turn your Glock pistol into an automatic weapon is Glocks fault? It's only in clown world that this makes sense.
Yes the idiot's in charge of that city are completely broken no clue about reality.
With that logic, Ford can be held responsible for car enthusiasts modifying their Mustangs if/when they get into an accident. Ridiculous.
Glock doesn’t kill us in Chicago…. People in Chicago kill us in Chicago…
It would be funny if Glock already has safety warnings about not using unauthorized modifications or accessories for other random stuff like the wrong bullets or magazines.
I agree And a multiple Glocks owner And Glocks Are not for mass destruction 😭😭 Wow Only for self-defense at home defense etc. I own a gun license and I don’t even take my weapons out of my house always put away bcus people think there bad any CPD Carry’s a Glock pistol And every special agent federal FBI ATF

Look up Howell automatic for that bolt action lol (its just not full auto)

"Sophisticated engineer that most civilian can't do"
Fire arms are a medieval technology on itself and even the most complex ones can be printed nowadays.
Not to mention all engineers are civilians. Defense industry is largely civilians or civilian contractors no? I don't recall an MOS or Rate for firearms engineering or manufacture
dont u need to remove like 2 pins to turn some semi guns auto?
I would like to mention that there is a Croatian sniper rifle given to our special police (basically swat under a different name) before yugoslav wars that literally looks like a pipe weapon from fallou4.
Hell, our gun most well known manufacturer literally started out as two guys who never built a rifle trying to sell something they bashed together.

@@truthseeker308 Firearms aren't complex, the guy that designed the FGC-9 3D printable rifle wasn't an engineer, had no background or training in engineering or CAD. He was just an enthusiastic amateur that read some books on how firearms worked and wanted to make one himself. Then he just went and did. Before the advent of 3D printing any rural Cleatus with a metal lathe could (and often did) make their own firearms. Pakistanis with hand tools make AK-47s that are often better quality than the mass produced factory made version. It's actually no more difficult than learning how to work on your car.
1100 Glocks with switches confiscated by Chicago P.D. Yet the A.T.F. isn't prosecuting and charging them federally. Chicago has one of the lowest rates of federal prosecution for gun crimes.
They only prosecute white people.
Notice how Colion lets you know each switch (just the switch!) carries a ten-year prison sentence on it if caught with one. Yet, as you said, these thugs in Chicago won’t even get charged.
Make it make sense… 🥴
Because allowing the problem to exist helps to push more gun control. This is why they throw the book at pro-gun people and let hard criminals with bad intent off with probation and later commit a serious crime. Then the Dems will blame the gun and say we need more gun control. Majority of mass shootings happen in Gun free zones and our highest crime rates are in anti-gun states and cities. Dems don't care about people, they care about power and control.
It really just depends on your skin color if you get charged. Let a white guy get one and they'll throw the book at him. The only reason they're not charging them in Chicago is they don't want to add to the crime statistics
I wondered about that. It should be a federal charge each time someone is caught with them
Can we sue prosecutors and DAs for releasing these criminals back onto our streets? Seems like they're doing a HELL of a lot more damage than the gun manufacturers.
Same here in ny! Especially with the "bail reform" bullshit. I jury on a case, kid alrdy had numerous gun felonies, yet, just goes and gets another when he gets out, then 2nd or 3rd time an innocent was shot and killed...
Well of course, they got the gun, why do they need the perp, I mean hey, it's not like he has his gun anymore right? I bet within 30-60 minutes of the perp getting released, he's got another one.
Yes
No. 42USC1983 disallows it.
Just another reason to realize the true intent of the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution.
Yup- look at all multiple felons that get caught with firearms and then released on a daily basis here in Minnesota, and especially Hennepin County. But of course, we need MORE gun laws. Don't bother enforcing the ones we have already...
Hell you’re better off facing someone with fully automatic Glock as they’ll empty the mag in a couple of seconds and be inaccurate while doing so.
That’s like suing the manufacturer of the guns used in the north Hollywood shootout because the bank robbers made them full auto.
ALL the gun manufacturers should refuse to sell Chicago PD one more firearm until they crop this suit.
Refuse to sell to all Illinois cops until this and pica are gone
Many police departments don't even own many of their weapons, they are leased from the manufacturers.
If they have any lease agreements with Glock or any of Glock's business partners, these leases should be retracted and all firearms confiscated.
Less guns in Illinois is probably a good thing. Mississippi has a murder rate 3x higher than Illinois. Hmm, maybe there's too many guns in untrained hands over there.

Or one of the most prominent one the AK-47 must have killed millions in the last century and continues to kill people up to this day (I really liked the movie Lord of War). But do I think they should be banned for it? Hell no lock away the people who use it to bring others harm then one day we might not need guns anymore because all the criminals are locked away. Most pistols do not need "pretty sophisticated engineering" to enable fully automatic fire. In the case of clock the modular design just makes it very easy to add these devices, it's more of a dis-connector disrupter than an auto sear though, since it's not adding an auto sear but rather preventing the disconnector from engaging. It can be done with any pistol.
I have never, nor will EVER, support any decision that has come out of Chicago. Not all people are bad, and not all bad people are from Chicago, but as far as politicians go, it's enough to make me not want to live in that state.

So they can’t hold accountable the criminals. So punish the manufactures. So will they sue pharmaceutical companies for people overdosing or selling drugs. I doubt it.
That pharmaceutical company example just reminded me of the fictional universe of Resident Evil, a.k.a. Biohazard. Umbrella corporation acts in the similar greedy way. 😅
Yes they did sue pharmaceutical companies. The sackler family, the people who made oxycontin, paid billions. So you're using a bad example.
Correction: they COULD hold criminals accountable but they don’t want to. This has nothing to do with keeping people safe. It’s about taking down the gun industry.
@@RLee-we1fc who was making the fake vaccines? fake because they had to change the definition of what a vaccine is to be able to call them that lol. can you sue them for damages or did they just give them amnesty against being sued?
They sue pharmaceutical companies all the time and win. There's no burden of evidence required to sue them. That is why our drugs in the US cost so much. In countries with socialized medicine, you can't sue your provider, the hospital or anything related to the pharmaceutical or the person that prescribed the wrong drug and killed your loved one. They get their meds for a LOT less money as a result. They're not the ones causing so much cost, so that cost is not spread to them like it is in the US.
The real question is why wouldn't this case simply be thrown out of court without so much as a hearing.
Nothing happening in Chi-raq is the responsibility of Glock.
They should sue cutlery companies for selling knives with sharp edges.
They don't have to manufacture the knives with a cutting edge.
They could then sue them for other companies making tools to sharpen those knives.
Any semi auto can be modified for full auto. Depends on modification needed. Stetchkin uses even rate dropper for 9x18.
How does an anti-gun group know that it’s easy to remanufacture the firearm differently without the cost of reliability? This is going to be hard for the anti-gunners to prove in court because they have no knowledge about guns or gun designs
They don’t need the knowledge they need the money to sue to bankrupt the company.
@@blaynemacpherson8519 it’s going to be interesting to see how this is going to go because they will have to prove to the court how Glock could have manufactured the gun differently if Glock argues that it will compromise reliability
@@vicdiaz5180 It’s interesting that they are suing glock rather than the manufacturer or the part that is illegal to use. Glock is worth $1.3 billion. I’m sure the manufacturer is not worth that much.
Even if they don’t prove anything the glock company will be spending millions of dollars to defend itself.
@@blaynemacpherson8519 Most of these switches come from China, and with the unofficial approval of the Chinese government to destabilize the US. Good luck suing anyone over there over switches. Glock is a far more appealing target for these frivolous lawsuits.
ATF told them so!
It's really weird I thought it was illegal to have an automatic weapon... how are they possibly doing this if it's not legal??
Also calling them weapons of mass destruction... they need to stfu with this stuff man. These people are clowns. They aren't trying to sue car manufacturers for people using them wrong or anything else... almost like it's just the people that are the problem.
"Nuclear bomb for home defense"
You already know the answer
@@Coconut-219 Sure! Where can you buy them?
Well it isn't??? According to the 2nd, shall not be infringed means there can be no law barring it... So they aren't?
@@Menolly1233 there’s no lawful provision unless a person has a class3 license for civilians to have a fully automatic firearm
"It's a weapon of mass destruction" came out of that ATF agents mouth......LOL
I also heard that Glock has oil, and now with this WMD idea maybe we should send the troops
They still don’t seem to understand that criminals don’t follow laws 🤦🏾♂️
That’s like suing Flowmaster or Magnaflow for making the muscle cars too loud. 😂
No, it is like suing Ford or Dodge for the flowmaster muffler that makes the vehicle too loud.
Exactly @@joec7275
@@joec7275 I think it goes even deeper than that. It is like suing Ford because Flowmaster made a racing specific exhaust not available to the public because it makes too much noise, but underage criminals without drivers licenses found out where to get knockoff versions to put on their Ford Focus to block out the sound of gunfire during a drive-by.
