I'm Australian and Pacquiao has been my fave for years......Proper boxing fans in Australia aren't mad at Teddy,it was just him being honest......Casual Boxing fans probably didnt understand him as they would have accepted the decision as accurate......That fight could easily have gone 3 ways.......I was told Horn had won before I watched it.....I then watched it and immediately thought Horn didn't win.......Teddy Got It Pretty Well Right With How He Saw It I thought.

Judges thought Manny didn't hit him enough to win the fight. Horn's face beaten to a pulp wasn't Manny's doing at all, but a combination of stigmata, witchcraft, sorcery, and exorcism. They should have awarded Horn a holy water, totem or a talisman to go with the WBO belt. Boy looked mightily cursed with facial rearrangements on those post fight photos. He looked like he needed a priest. While Manny looked fresh as a priest from an early Sunday mass.

I watched the fight live. As soon as it was over, I turned to my wife and said, "Honey, this fight was close! Horn might have won!"
Then I saw the judges' scores, and it was unanimous that Horn was the winner.
Then all these people came out of the woodwork and cried FOUL!! That Pacquiao was robbed.
So, I went back and watched the fight round by round, counting every solid punch landed by each fighter in each round. After each individual round, when it was clear that a fighter out-pointed the other in a the round, the winner got 10 and the loser got 9. If I couldn't be certain either way, or if the total was just too close to say for certain, I gave them both 10. If a fighter was utterly dominant in any round, I scored it 10 for the winner and 8 for the loser. There was only one round like that (the 9th, and I gave the round to Pacquiao, 10-8).
This is how I scored each round:
#1 Horn (10); Pacquiao (9)
#2 Horn (10); Pacquiao (9)
#3 Horn (9); Pacquiao (10)
#4 Horn (10); Pacquiao (9)
#5 Horn (10); Pacquiao (10) - too close to call for either one
#6 Horn (10); Pacquiao (9)
#7 Horn (10); Pacquiao (9)
#8 Horn (9); Pacquiao (10)
#9 Horn (8); Pacquiao (10) - Pacquiao dominated (almost KO'ed Horn)
#10 Horn (10); Pacquiao (9)
#11 Horn (9); Pacquiao (10)
#12 Horn 10; Pacquiao (9) - Pacquaio was dominating this round early, but ran out of gas and was in defense mode for most of the second part of the round.
Overall score: Horn-115; Pacquiao-113
Pacquiao (like most others) probably looked at Horn as not much of a threat. It was obvious that Pacquiao was not trying his best early on, probably believing he would wear Horn out and KO him in the second half. But Horn didn't falter, except in a couple rounds. Horn winning of the early rounds made it an uphill battle for Pacquiao - too much for him to overcome.
I recommend you re-watch the fight and score them round by round, one at a time. The whole fight is here on CZcams. Be objective. Count the solid blows. Don't count any rabbit punches, or any blows that hit the arms. Count the ones that hit clearly to the head or torso...if you are not biased, you will see that Pacquiao was NOT robbed. He fucked up but looking at the fight as a pushover. Horn proved to be more determined than Pacquiao thought he would be.

People no longer know how to score fights and Atlas has the right to get angry about it, a lot of boxing fans do. When Chocolatito and Pacquiao were robbed real fans of the sport had a tough time seeing that.
Of course people who are not fans of the sport but fans of specific fighters instead don't care, maybe a guy they didn't like got robbed and it's convenient that they can't score fights and they can just say "Deal with it"

Teddy Atlas had Horn winning only Round 1 out of the first 6 rounds, the guy is a idiot.
Horn dominated the first half of the fight and was able to do what very few fighters have been able to achieve against Pacquiao, to Horn's credit he had Pacquiao on the back foot for most of the fight.
Pacquiao had ample opportunity to win this fight and I HONESTLY thought Pacman was going to finish Horn in the 10th round by knocking him out, something he hasn't been able to do for 8 years now.
However to Horn's credit he fought back hard in the last three rounds, when Pacquiao should have TOTALLY finished Horn off but he just ran out of gas PERIOD.
It's getting real old now and its not making Pacquiao look good at all towards the end of his career, not to mention Pacquiao isn't helping himself either.
When Pacquiao was first interviewed, he stated he respected the judges decision, however that night and the following day Pacman was crying robbery himself and demanded a re-score along with the Filipino sports commission and even after the five (5) independent judges agreed Horn won, Pacquiao continued to go on about it how he thought he should have won the bout.
This is NOT a good look for a LEGEND in the sport and that is very unfortunate and sad.
I'm over Pacquiao fans crying "ROBBERY" every time Pacman loses.
It's time for Pacman fans to learn how to lose graciously for once PERIOD!!!
Not too dissimilar to my assessment of the fight, ultimately boxing is a young mans sport and as boxers start to take fights against younger, hungrier, more active opponents they will inevitably start to take losses. AJ's win over Klitschko is another example of where youth beat experience & skill, sheer dogged determination & will power got AJ the victory, as it did Horn.
I don't think 8 different judges can all be wrong - if that's the case then the sport has bigger problems.

AGREE! I watched it live, then round by round on CZcams. In the first 6 rounds, I had Horn winning four outright, scoring a draw in Round 5 and losing only Round 3. I had him winning three of the remaining six rounds (7, 10, and 12) and losing Rounds 8, 9 and 11. I gave Pacquiao Round 9 by a score of 10-8. When you add up all the rounds, Horn got 115 to Pacquiao's 113 - just like the judges.

In your line of work, you have the obligation to communicate what is in your mind using your knowledge, wisdom, and experience of 40 years. You know that the judges' decision is final and must be respected. They did their job. You did your job. But because of what you and the judges did, someday, they might come up with a better system of judging a boxing match.
