The Tiles (Tuiles) Festival was established in 2015 to commemorate the events of June 7, 1788, when Grenoble residents helped spark the French Revolution by hurling tiles from their rooftops onto the king's soldiers, known as the defiers. Residents and visitors to Grenoble can get together during the Tiles Festival to discover or rediscover the vibrancy of the city and its people. For a day, or all year long: take a tour around Grenoble. Come from Grenoble.
