Thank you so much for all of these videos! I just got a 2023 Sportage prestige, coming from a 2011 scion XB. There is definitely a big learning curve when it comes to technology in it from what I’m used to, which is no tech in the scion. Each question I’ve had, you had a video about, so I’m very grateful! Nice... the key have a little hole on one side.. what is the use ? Thnks ( like a reset botton ) ( near the HOLD Bot )
Not sure of a hole on that side, but that may be the spot where the light blinks when you press a button to communicate to the car, just to show that there is power. - Andrew
How can you set the fan settings. For example in the winter if you want to defrost and heat up inside?
If you're using the remote start from the smart keyfob, you have to preset your climate before you turn off the car and use the remote start for the next start! - Andrew

Not to turn it on specifically, only if you're using Kia Connect to remote start the vehicle. But if you have it preset to being on, it will already be on when you remote start. Thanks for watching! - Andrew
@@CardinalKia good to know about just setting the temp to a default tempature. I have Kia Connect but it sometimes fails to well connect 😂

Is it possible to ad this option aditional ? i have a GT line 1,6 HEV 2023 model European, but due to some shortages it came withour the remote start and wanted to check if you only buy the key fob with remote will it start remotly or not ?

What is the small rectangular button just below the alarm button on the Smart Key for my 2023 Kia Sportage X-line?

do you neeed to have the kia app membership to use key fob remote start features or does the key fob work separately from the app?
Nope! The keyfob remote start will always work, even if you don't have an active Kia Connect subscription! Thanks for watching! - Andrew
My fob never works. The app is shady at best. Miss the ease of my jeep Cherokee.
May want to have it looked at then, it works quite well with no known issues. - Andrew

can I start my car from the Kia Access app? I remember when I first opened the account, it gave me different options but after I linked my new car to the account it didn't show any options on the dashboard besides: manuals, warranty and maintenance...=/ or that app is for something completely different? thank you!
I believe the Kia Access app is for the USA, whereas we use the Kia Connect app. To my knowledge you should be able to start the car from it, depending on the model and trim level. Thanks for watching! - Andrew
Yes, you can in US via Kia Access, if you have the right plan (free first year).

Just bought the 2024 Sportage SX Prestige. I wish that the daytime running lights would come on when the remote start was activated. I just have to get used to using the app to start the car…

The Hybrid SX AWD and PHEV SX AWD here in Canada have the forward/reverse park assist, not the full self parking. - Andrew

How do I know if my model is equipped with auto start
Generally any of the trim levels with push-button start have the physical remote start option. This may vary by country. Thanks for watching! - Andrew
What is the range for the remote start?

I dont seem to be able to get my kia to turn on the heat/ A/C with remote start without the app..
How do i turn on the climate control from the fob?

That's odd. If you have your climate turned on when you turn off the car, it should turn on with it the next remote start. This may vary per country and trim as well. - Andrew
Nope. The heat and a/c key are electronic so they do not stay in the “depressed” position once the engine is off.

How do you open the tailgate without using the button thats on the tailgate ?
You have two other options. One is to the left of the steering column, and the other is from the keyfob itself! Thanks for watching! - Andrew

@AlwaysAStranger Here in Canada the EX HEV does not have a power liftgate, which would explain why you can't find them! - Andrew

Glad the car keeps running even after you open the door. My dumb Toyota kills the radio and engine after you open the door when you remote start it. I'm absorbing every video while I wait for mine to come in!

Not only for the hybrid no, this video is on the ICE Sportage, but both the EX and SX HEV Sportage's here in Canada have remote start! Thanks for watching! - Andrew
Does EX Premium have parking forward reverse function on key fob?
The Sportage HEV SX will have the Remote Smart Park Assist function. None of the ICE Sportage's here have that feature. - Andrew

My fob works rarely, why
Even if it's new, I would recommend changing the battery as the first thing. The battery could be low, that would effect how well it works when further from the car. I would hope nothing nearby would be affecting the frequency it uses, if it wasn't the battery. If it is still not working well, I would suggest taking it to your local Kia to have it looked at.
