    If you are new to Crypto, my suggestion is that you start with buying ~$150 worth of Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin @ Coinbase and get familiar with storing it, moving it around, etc.
    For your first purchase, just stick with CoinBase: www.coinbase.com/join/5691c9d...
    For Trading, just start with Binance: www.binance.com/?ref=18111926
    By sticking with large, reputable exchanges for your first purchase (Coinbase) and first trade (Binance) you can avoid getting scammed right at the start by purchasing a non-existing coin off a scammy exchange. (You would be surprised how many people fall into this trap)
    Don't have a hardware wallet?
    Be safe and buy them direct from the manufacturer. (Not just through some random on eBay, Amazon, etc)
    Get a Ledger: shop.ledger.com/?r=5243ecbb84...
    (If you are just starting out, I would just recommend a Ledger Nano S)

    Tx was stuck I set fee too low, waited 15 days because a lot of blog posts stated mempool would kick it back at 14 days I decided to rbf the tx, I had to download electrum for this since atomic wallet doesn't have that feature, everything worked great, I manually chose about 5 servers until the unconfirmed tx showed up, the bump fee wouldn't allow to confirm until I changed the "preserve payment" to "decrease payment" then everything went smooth, transaction confirmed in 15 minutes, thankyou for this video

    Very helpful video - Thank you. Just wanted to check: when using RBF, is the increased fee deducted from the amount being sent in the transaction or is it taken from the balance in the wallet? - thanks again 👍

    • @CryptoGuide
      @CryptoGuide  Před 10 měsíci +1

      Basically it depends on the transaction, but RBF can either involve leaving all the transaction inputs the same and increasing the fee, or could also involve adding additional inputs to cover the increased fee.

    Thank you so much for being a ton more helpful than Ledger Support. So I sent my entire wallet amount to another wallet unfortunately with RBF not enabled. Does this mean even if I add funds to the original wallet and send it again to the recipients wallet using a higher fee CPFP won’t work since there was no change left in the first transaction? Hope that makes sense and thanks again.

    Hi there. The situation is next: a person send you a transaction with a lowest comission possible (1 sat/byte) enabling RBF, so he could possibly cancel that transaction before its 1 confirmation. My question is: can you as a recepient somehow use CPFP to accelerate that incoming transaction to receive its 1 confirmation and be sure that won't be cancelled by the sender using double-spending with RBF feature? Thanks

    • @CryptoGuide
      @CryptoGuide  Před rokem +1

      If the parent transaction is cancelled then all child transactions will be cancelled too. That said, you could make a child transaction with high fee to get the parent transaction confirmed faster.

    • @CryptoGuide
      @CryptoGuide  Před 3 lety

      Basically that graph shows you the size of the pending transactions over time and you can select a fee on the left hand side to only show transactions above a certain cost. Basically if the amount of pending transactions for a given fee never went near zero at all over the given timeframe, then you can see that it wouldn't have gone through over that time.

      So is it still visible in Ledger Live? Basically this can happen because there is no single mempool (Despite it being common to refer to "the mempool") but rather mempools on different nodes. (So unconfirmed transactions may appear in some nodes, but have been dropped by others)

      A new transaction on Phoenix will bump the effective fee rate, but the effective fee for the previous transaction doesn't automatically become that of the new one. @@CryptoGuide Thanks a lot for the help. Actually I've already seen that the transaction was sent with RBF enabled. What Im not understanding is: Electrum is a hot wallet? So it will work directly importing the seeds of my SecuX or must I import the seeds of my SecuX on a Ledger to use Electrum for example? Im aware that after this my SecuX will be under security risks (until I may recover it as new wallet and transfer the funds).

    • @CryptoGuide
      @CryptoGuide  Před rokem

      You can use Electrum as a hot wallet or with any decent hardware wallet. If you import the seed directly into Electrum then your seed is compromised, if you buy a Ledger/Trezor and import your seed into that device and then use Electrum with the hardware wallet, your seed will remain secure.

      In this case that would be a child-pays-for-parent transaction. The CPFP transactions in Electrum just send the funds back to your own wallet, but you can do them manually by simply sending the unconfirmed funds on to any other address. (So for example, your second Ledger Nano) You can also enable RBF on the CPFP transaction, so you can easily bump the fees if they are too low.
