  • Huawei is one of China’s most successful global companies. Its technology is used in more than 170 countries, its smartphones rival Samsung and Apple for market share and it’s one of the top corporate 5G developers. However some countries, including the United States, have expressed concerns that the Chinese government could use Huawei’s phones and equipment for spying. CNBC’s Tom Chitty explains.

*This video seems to try to framing as if no other companies have any legal litigation, in fact Huawei probably have 1% of litigation of a typical US company last 20 years. A better comparison would be how many litigation Huawei has prior to trade war, versus US companies of comparable size.* (After intense scrutinizing, and a decade of illegal spying and *hacking* by CIA, all US came up is 1 legal suit from 20 years ago that is already settled outside of court and another case of breach of US sanctions to Iran (which not even allies in EU follows, in fact you get punished if you obeys if you obey US unilateral sanctions. This case also being branded by the US as "bank fraud case", where they said their laptops were sent to a third country instead of Iran.
*China's 5G and Huawei's Processors and Memory Chip already the best in the world. Last year Huawei had world first 7nm Chip ahead of Apple by couple of months, and world first 5G modern(till now no other company has it), and it as world first Nano memory Chip, a next generation memory chip.* In addition, as everyone follow technology remembers, it's iPhone stole Huawei's two camera setup, and sequentially the telephoto lenses.
But understandably, US is so scared of emerging world, and citizen of any other countries improve their life, as always.

Sorry but you are factually wrong about Huawei having the best of anything. They make great hardware do not be mistaken. However, the best ram/storage in the world is made by Samsung. The best ARM processors are being designed by Apple and actually made by Samsung/TSMC. You site Huawei as being first to market but that means absolutely nothing. There are launch cycles for a reason and Apple would have had to finish the development of their SoC at a similar time to meet demand.
Finally, when it comes to Software the US companies are king. We literally have no competition. We made Windows, Mac OS, and even Linux. For mobile, we have the only two games in town which are IOS and Android. Then don't even get me started on the enterprise level.
P.S. America/Americans are not scared of a specific company being successful. We fear a malicious government like the CCP which backs that organization will do to us. It is natural to be wary of a person/entity that has consistently broken deals with the US and funded our enemies. The only reason we are not at war is because of the power dynamic that is in play. China is doing everything in its power to become a true superpower on the global stage, truth be told its getting there quickly but is not there yet. Should it succeed and stay closely allied with Russia it would disrupt the balance that the world has had for last 40 years or so.
If China doesn't want the US to hate them so much they need to stop being so closed off and actually treat us like a friend. That means letting US companies compete fairly in China. You can't be mad at the US for finally retaliating against China when they have done this for years without justification.

I've owned and used iPhones and Samsungs (I still do, now as backup phones). During the past five years, I've used a dual-SIM Huawei phone. I've continued to use it after Trump blocked Huawei's access to just about everything including GMail. So far, the inability to obtain GMail and other Google upgrades has not hamstrung my phone although I recognize that I may have to switch to either my Samsung or iPhone as my primary phone when my Huawei finally loses full functionality and compabilty with new software. A pity, because my Huawei is a special "Porsche Design" unit. It's distinctively but discreetly and tastefully styled, which provides a little bit of secret pleasure when I use it.

Someone explains to me please. So the US has problems with Iran and imposed sanctions on them. How is that possible that a company of a different country, traded with Iran, and the US can prosecute and fine the company for violating the sanction laws of the US. So if Cuba imposes sanction on a country wouldn't the US has to comply with the provisions of the sanction too?
