  • We have saved up and purchased another pigloo for the farm. We have found these to be the easiest house to move around the farm and they give the pigs a dry shelter out of the wind and rain. In the video we show the easiest way to load them in your truck and get them back to your farm.

    Hi John, How are your chickens doing

    To improve ventilation could you cut a window higher on the wall away from the door. Just cut two sides and the bottom, bend the plastic up to make an opening and an awning. Use a stick to prop it open. Duct tape could seal it shut if needed.

      @KCFarms  Před 3 lety +1

      Definitely could do that

    Those look like the best pigloos but too expensive for me, so I got 2 calf huts, a lot less expensive. The drawback I guess is that they don’t have a floor but I like the fact I can easily fit inside, they are tall.
    Anyway, love, love, love your life!

    It so strange to me how the longer they go before breeding back the harder it is for them to get pregnant. Seems backwards. 🤷🏻‍♂️ Keep up the good work

    Where do you pick those up at? I know this is a older video looking into getting pigs maybe soon also in Tenn.

    • @KCFarms
      @KCFarms  Před rokem +1

      Tractor supply but they have over doubled in price since we got them. They are just water stock tanks

    Older video, I know... But do you have rough dimensions of the door you cut into your pigloo? You seem to have standardized with a template so the size must work well for you guys.

    • @KCFarms
      @KCFarms  Před rokem +1

      If I remember correctly i think it’s around 24x24 but always go smaller and you can make it bigger if needed

    i dont know where you live but port a hut might be an option for pig shelter for you guys cheap portable and can do a lot more than just be a roof

    • @KCFarms
      @KCFarms  Před 3 lety +1

      We are in Tennessee. We have thought about porta huts I know they are cheaper the only thing I like better about the pigloo is that they have a dry floor in them and usually keeps their bedding dry

  • @fdman6981
    @fdman6981 Před 3 lety

    Idea, Because it is so big. could u cut the bottom out for a pool (water trough) and then cut a door in the remaining tank and have a towfor?

    • @KCFarms
      @KCFarms  Před 3 lety

      Probably could, we like to keep the bottom in so they always have a dray place to go in the winter
