Glad you appreciate my work. A lot of research was involved. The project started as something I wanted to visualise that no longer exists. I approached the London bridge trust that had plans to open a museum underneath London bridge. Sadly they could raise enough money, 4 million quid or so. I'd really like to have a large permanent plaque placed on either side of the Thames where the bridge once stood to show tourists the history of the bridge. I've also produced a board game that I'd love to have on the market one day. czcams.com/video/i-l4iaDjr0A/video.html

The London Tornado of 1091 was the earliest reported tornado in that area, occurring on Friday, 17 October 1091. The wooden London Bridge was demolished, and the church of St. Mary-le-Bow in the city of London was badly damaged. Other churches in the area were demolished, as were over 600 (mostly wooden) houses. For all the damage inflicted, the tornado claimed just two known victims from a population of about 18,000.

I have been looking for a 3-D model of the London Bridge for YEARS, and now I have seen it! I suspect there are MANY people who would like to see this animation but it doesn’t come up in searches (at least for me). I guess The Algorithm found it after I watched several documentaries about the medieval London Bridge.
I think the medieval London Bridge is fascinating! I don’t know of another bridge in the world where people built LARGE shops and homes on a bridge. I believe there were tolls to cross the bridge and it got so crowded the people used ferries instead. If no one had built structures on the bridge, it would have probably accommodated all the traffic easily.
If you still have the original source file for this, you might consider re-rendering it with newer software. This already looks EXCELLENT, but I think it deserves the best render you can do.
I don’t remember how many views this got, but I bet many hundreds of thousands would like to see it. I know I’m not the only person fascinated by the medieval London Bridge.
Unfortunately, I’ve turned off reply notifications (because of trolls), so I may not know if you replied, but I truly think your project would interest MANY more people.

I had heard / read that supposedly London Bridge was comprised of a bunch of shops -- could be wrong.
Only criticism is I would have slowed down the motion. In its final iteration I had to slow it down to enjoy it. Otherwise....good work.

The best part of this video is that because of restraints with time, everyone has to be card board cut outs, there's no way they could be 3D models as it would just take too long to render for the effort put in

I was thinking the same thing. I actually appreciate seeing non-professionals using software to create something that no living person has seen.
I don’t know how faithful paintings and drawings of the bridge were, and I suspect that Londoners weren’t very proud of the bridge at the time because the records seem pretty sparse. I wonder what visitors to London thought of the bridge at the time. I would have been amazed.

I would love a time machine to go back and see old London Bridge, what a sight it would be today! that is an amazing amount of effort you have put into this, and it is probably as close to seeing it in the flesh we could get.
