From the success of Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time, to Crash Team Rumble's early end, To Crash on the Run going poof, and now Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy passing over 20 million Units sold. @CanadianGuyEh Even though Crash 4 and Spyro 4 seem like a good idea, microsoft will likely not fund those projects and borrow Toys For Bob to co-develop with publishers Activision and Xbox Studios until Gamepass has a bigger selection of Activision titles, including but not exclusively all at once, Wrath of Cortex, Twinsanity, Crash Nitro Kart, Titans & Mom, Spyro Dragonfly, Spyro Heroes Tale, Legend of Spyro, Skylanders Superchargers Racing, Call of Duty, 007, 006 Rouge Agent, Crash Bash, CTTR, Tony Hawk for Xbox, and possibly Pixar 64 bit era titles.

@@Zohlr6_i They're businessmen, and even the Businessmen who like gaming at Xbox Games, are discouraged from having favorite games outside of what Microsoft tells Xbox they want to be popular.
However they do know there is money to be made in Gamepass by having hundreds of Activision and Universal Interactive titles from XBox and Xbox 360 available instead of their big titles like Call of Duty, Halo, God of War, and WB games. Microsoft wants the four Xbox classic titles for Crash and the 3 Xbox Classic titles for Spyro for very clear business strategies involving Gamepass subscription. I don't think Microsoft realizes that Sony doesn't have the rights to Crash Bash anymore.
In all honesty I would rather want Spyro 4 before Crash 5 because it wouldn't be fair for Spyro fans not having a new game while Crash fans not only having a new game but also get a party game afterwards.

I also think that Rumble's monumental failure has ruined any foreseeable market prospects for the IP for a while at least.

no, as a crash fan, I want Spyro fans to have their meal too, especially considering we as crash fans are recovering from the bombshell failure that was team rumble ( and rightfully deserved) it's not fair if we crash fans recieve yet another game before spyro fans even get theirs, yes it's impressive that N.sane trilogy has passed 20 million units, but that doesn't mean they need to make a fifth title.
I prefer Spyro 4 to come out first and Crash 5 to start development around the same time as Spyro 5 to keep things fair.
Why are you speculating about Crash 5 when we've already had CTRNF, Crash 4 AND Team Rumble, as well as On The Run since the N Sane Trilogy, yet no new Spyro game since Reignited?

Crash fans should definitely buy and play Astro Bot on PS5 in September - not least for the games similar platforming gameplay, but also to show the big publishers and platform holders that AAA 3D platformers can still sell well

Look at it this way:
Mind Over Mutant was largely rejected by the fanbase and didn't sell well as a result. Because of this, Activision decided that the series was no longer profitable and shelved it indefinitely.

Hey, wasn't there another Crash game in more recent times that was largely rejected by the fanbase and therefore probably (definitely) didn't sell well? You know, Crash Team Rumble?
What I'm inferring none too subtly, is that history is no doubt repeating itself. The fanbase's ever-ongoing refusal to accept new ideas for Crash will ensure that there won't be a Crash 5 anytime soon, if ever.
And once again, those fanboys will be (determinedly) blind to the fact that it's their own fault that they're not getting any new Crash games and pin the blame on the corporations. They just never learn.
And even if we do get a Crash 5, the fanbase will just sit there and do nothing but whinge about arbitrary factors like the character designs or the fact that it wasn't made by Naughty Dog on the PS1. Ugh.
You know, other Crash fans have told me on more than one occasion that people like me are 'not real Crash fans' just because we would dare to embrace new ideas for Crash (Titans, Rumble, etc.), as opposed to absolutely sucking off the Naughty Dog titles and actively shunning anything else. The irony is palpable; I'm probably the ONLY real Crash fan, in that I seem to be the only one who isn't determined to find fault in the series that I profess to love based on arbitrary factors relating to nostalgia.
Crash Bandicoot died because Activision wanted to just focus on COD.
I mean... we were supposed to have Crash Landed in 2010 but that got cancelled due to problems concerning that game's development.
Not sure what MOM's sales numbers actually were, there might be some discrepancy in different reasons for ending the original run of Crash from what I've heard, but that was still a mainline game whilst Rumble was a spin-off. The comparison is a bit off there, especially taking into account the releases leading up to either of them.
You also seem to be blowing out of the water potentially comparatively minor fan discourse in relation to the entire market for a Crash game, vocal minorities and what not. Not sure how many fans in particular are still on the "it wasn't made by Naughty Dog" thing when their absence from the series is literally almost a quarter century old at this point.

It ain't happening. Something people seem to forget is Sega actually handled some publishing duties for both Nsane and Nitro Fueled. That's a lotta cheddar Activision ain't getting. Pretty funny to think Crash Bandicoot may have inadvertently funded Sonic the Hedgehog games. It's also pretty bad given Spyro and Crash 4 were developed in Unreal Engine 4. The percentage Epic gets per million sales ain't pretty.
It was cancelled after a few years of dev time sadly.
To be fair, the long wait for development is kinda the standard now if you want quality, for example rockstar games handling GTA and red dead. Would rather have one company who actually knows what they're doing handle spyro and crash and give us a game every 4-5 years rather than dish out 5/10 quality games every 1-2 years

There was actually a news article I was reading on IGN and it seems like crash bandicoot 5 was in development at one point alongside a potential Spyro 4 but now it’s been cancelled. The situation seems to be very confusing right now. I hope you do a video on it soon. Definitely right up your alley.
I can definitely picture Microsoft doing a sort of open casting call for a new Crash Bandicoot game with guidance by Toys For Bob allowing for many Third Party companies to throw their pitches at the wall and see what sticks, however I really think we deserve a new Spyro game before hand.

TfB separated from Activision to make their own game because of Activision greedy and atrocious decisions.

It's sad, Vicarious Visions seemed to have a good understanding of what made Crash Bandicoot good. Judging by the Future Tense level. Toys for Bob did a okay job with Crash Bandicoot 4...
Although I feel that we might not see anything major for Crash Bandicoot for a while,the series seems to be very popular, and I still think that they can make some supplementary material like spinoffs like an RPG in the same vein as the Mario ones,a collection with some of the post Naughty-Dog games,a 2D game like the GBA ones,or external media like a cartoon or movie(PLSPLSPLSPLSPLSPLSPLSPLS!)

As an OG crash fan dating back to the original, I would hate to have to wait till 2027 at the EARLIEST for Crash 5... but I'd rather do that than see a lower quality crash game come out earlier. TFB, take your time and make sure Spyro 4 is just as great of an addition as Crash 4 was, but also please hurry! Crash 4 was a masterpiece, and I can hardly wait for more Spyro and Crash from y'all.
I don't want Toys For Bob to generate the next entry. Crash Bandicoot 4 was one of the least pre-eminent installment in the franchise for me, and they continuously push out games that nearly no one is interested in ( On The Run has already shut down) as opposed to creating the highly anticipated Spyro 4, or basically anything else. I would certainly provide the rights to the franchise to the creators of N.Sane Trilogy (i forgot thier name)
did you paid attention to the video? On the Run was made by King, not Toys for Bob. Also the creators of NSane Trilogy is Vicarios Visions, and they don't exist anymore.

Dude they need to have 2 teams work on both games one for Crash Bandicoot 5 and one for Spyro 4 because ain’t no way we’re gonna wait that long until somewhere like 2027 for a new Crash game
They were reduced to like 70 employees and got rid of their studio location all so they would be able to run as an independent developer for years to come. I don't think they could easily scale up again to working on multiple projects until one of their next games sells well (If their next project is Spyro then you ain't getting Crash in 2027, think farther out).

@@WoodrowWilson-lz6nq I've never been a fan of Banjo Kazooie, but I get it. But as for Crash v Spyro only, Crash had his share of the spot light and it's Spyro's turn. Supposedly working on Spyro 4 makes me happy we're getting something soon, but He deserves some kind of "other' game, maybe a racing game of his own, or something simple but fun before anymore Crash, Banjo etc. titles. I Think them remaking/remastering and creating sequels to games we had in our childhoods is amazing with today's Tech. either/or, ...
@@WoodrowWilson-lz6nq Banjo is just a suggestion people/Paul had with Toys For Bob, it has no right in conversation of coming before Crash or Spyro projects when it's possible Rare wouldn't even allow it. Crash/Spyro are actually series TFB has and should continue to work with, people get their hopes too high with that.

As much as I'm waiting for and frothing at the mouth over Spyro 4 like everyone else and definitely wanting it first- and even though Crash Team Rumble wasn't my cup of tea and TECHNICALLY did poorly- I would absolutely love to see a new take on a Crash Bash game, but taking more inspiration from Mario Party over the original Crash Bash, whether it be made by TFB, VV or Beenox. I think that would be a nice little something to hold (most) everyone over until the eventual Crash 5.

@TheToe-ii2kd Who's they? Toys for Bob is indie now, so if they were working on a Spyro title, they either canceled the project or reworking it into a brand new IP.
Not to mention that everyone at Activision is busy with Black Ops 6, and Microsoft is banking it all on that title's success in hopes of avoiding another major miss. They can't afford another fail after Halo Infinite and Forza Motorsport, with Everwild, Perfect Dark, Fable, and all those upcoming titles revealed last month being Microsoft's last hope.
@@X2011racer A studio doesn't have to be owned by a company to make games for them. Look at all the Wayforward licensed games. Ubisoft got to make Mario games for Nintendo with the X-Com Rabbids games And Game Freak isn't even owned by Nintendo but makes games for them

tho I don't mind another spin-off while we wait for Crash 5 either it be another racing title, a sports title?, a party game or another remake like of Twinsanity (and turn the game into what it was meant to be from the start) or Crash Bash, or just releasing the original ps1 versions on a modern console would be fine too (heck I'd love to see a Mario, Sonic and Crash crossover, tho it much more likely for it to happen in Smash Bros)

I hate to be pessimistic but i will only believe spyro 4 or crash bandicoot 5 are happening if i see the final results and not just hearing of words like if years or worse even decades go by then i won't be holding my breath too much like rumors are only that rumors until the game is released nothing is confirmed also i hope that Spyro 4 comes out first i mean i love crash bandicoot but i think the bandicoot needs to give the purple dragon a chance to also get some spotlight, i would hate to see spyro be forever in crash bandicoot's shadow instead of being like equals or partners with the bandicoot in the ps1 mascot games.

I wouldn't mind seeing more remakemasters lol. Like I know we get tired of those, but they can be games to hold us over until the next main game. Heck, they don't even have to make fully fledged faithful remakes. They can do what Krome Studios did with the Ty The Tasmanian Tiger games and have remasters that greatly improve the games.

I think what might be a good idea is that TFB handles the direct sequels to crash 4 and maybe to cater to the people that are purly nostalgia blind, an Xbox Studio or another 3rd party studio could take a crack at remaking an older crash game like wrath of cortex or twinsanity. I would prefer if another team works on crash and possibly a squeal to 4 I would prefer them to make a remake of another game first to maybe get a feel for how crash should handle and play. Then if that team can prove themselves and be show to make a good remake or remaster of an older crash game I would be more willing to let another team take the reins on a squeal to 4 if toys for bob are unable to do it.
Twinsanity remake or a Twinsanity-esque game or I don't want another one, straight up.
Hated pretty much every single thing about Crash "4": It's About Time.
I don't think we'd get a twinsanity remake as the post ND era is being kinda ignored, but a twinsanity-esque game could be pretty fun if done right.
@@Just_A_Nobody06 Yeah, I'm not even a huge fan of remakes, I rarely think they're justified. Especially here, I don't love Twinsanity for what it could have been, I love it for what it is, a simple port would suffice if I ever wanted to experience it again. But I'm fully aware remakes can reinvigorate games with unfair reputations, even franchises. Twinsanity, Mario Sunshine, Shadow the Hedgehog and Sonic 06, Ratchet: Deadlocked, Spyro: A Hero's Tail, hell I'd even argue Crash of the Titans, they're all bangers that either have scapegoat negatives holding them back or a reputation/legacy that doesn't appropriately reflect how good they are. All could benefit from a good remake for mass appeal.

Toys for Bob doesn't have to be actively guiding the next developer. The developer can choose to use the production bible from Crash 4 and Rumble for the design guides.
I don’t know if it’s just me, but the summer forest map in crash team rumble looks a lot like autumn plains for some strange reason.
Because it wasn't supposed to be. The early name of that map was originally Treetop Tussle.
I think that in order to make a new Crash Bandicoot game, Toys For Bob would had to ask any other developers if they wanted to make a new Crash Bandicoot game. It could definitely be a spin-off Crash game. As long as the next Crash Bandicoot game is great, I have confident in it.
