“Dive into the ocean’s depths so that you become wealthy by gaining its rubies and pearls.” In his book The Jewels of the Qur’an, Imam al-Ghazali exhorts readers to develop a deeper relationship with the ocean of the Qur’an, uncovering the immense beauty of the sacred words of God. In this live series, President Hamza Yusuf will elaborate on the main topics discussed in this work, focusing on the major themes, aims, and division of the Qur’an outlined by Imam al-Ghazali. The series will bring light to many hidden jewels of the Qur’an, enhancing our relationship with the sacred text in this blessed month.
Sessions with President Yusuf will take place on May 2, 5, 7, 8, 9, 10, and 11 at 5:30 PM PDT. Online sessions will stream on both Zaytuna College’s Facebook page (@ZaytunaCollege) and CZcams channel. Videos will also be available on our CZcams channel following each session.

Asa I am African American woman embraced Islam at 21 yrs now 66, I am so happy you covered all of this important message because I was turning the pages of the Quaran to see how much I had to go, but I did this because I wanted to complete the Quaran before Ramadan was over. I felt that Allah was talking directly to me, a beautiful experience something I wanted to feel. Also I cried when I read all the stories and warnings to mankind. I also committed to read daily, because I feel that this keeps me focused on Allah not this world. So my brother I love your intelligence of this religion. Some things you I relearning because you loose what you don't use as they say. May Allah help us and humanity. ☪️ Allah have been merciful to me, and I should be a slave to Allah. I cried when I heard the Eid prayer one year, the joy Allah put in my heart I couldn't stop crying. I don't need to know the language to feel the love gor the Quaran. Arabic is the most beautiful language you ever can hear. May Allah blessings to the believers and may many embrace this truth.

      I feel the same!
I feel that sometimes Sh.Hamza knows he has much to give but seldom finds the right character and mind to part with such knowledge. (i mean no disrespect to his audience or students) The sheer number of times Sh.Hamza finds himself stumbling over his words dispensing and touching on various topics simultaneously is a clear indication of his breadth of knowledge! Subhanallah!
Such calibre of Shuyoukh is on the decline - a sign of the times and it brings me to tears!

I can never stop listening to the honorable, respected, and learned Shaykh Yusuf. He never disappoints to amaze me! May Allah Azza Wa Jal, grant him a long wicket on this earth to assist in further attaining learnings from his knowledge, so dearly required, InshaAllah Ameen. Jazakallah Khairan Shaykh!
    Major characteristics:
★ His widespread savviness and command over the following arguably incomplete list of disciplines within the Religious (Islamic, Christianity, Judaism, Hinduism, etc.), Western and secular contexts:
⦿ Objective Qu'ran and Hadith Commentaries
    ⦿ Islamic and Westen Philosophy
    ⦿ Islamic and Western Politics
    ⦿ Islamic and Western History
⦿ Language & Linguistics, English in particular
⦿ Islamic and Western Literature, such as Shakespeare, etc.
★ His ability to skillfully navigate through the above. Then he carefully tries to connect the dots between them, i.e., gives the "big picture"
★ His ability to present with ease the complexities of the subject areas.
★ His eloquent use of the English language
★ The soothing and softness in his voice and smile, as opposed to a sermon delivered in Khutbah and on numerous Video Channels
★ His motivational skill is a class above the rest.
I'm also amazed at the disparity of subscribers and the number of video views, between the lectures of Shaykh Yusuf and Mufti Menk. 112K vs. 2.45M - an astonishing 1:22 Mathematical Ratio.
The above is by no means trying to discredit anyone since that would be arrogance, would cause of sin-able Fitna, of arguable an extremely high degree, apart of being way above my pay-scale, since it is only He that is The Judge!
It shouldn't be one or the other, preferably both. It also shouldn't be about quantity, but rather quality.
These are two platforms for different reasons or purposes that they serve.
What can one read into the above Statistic mean? I wouldn't mind a take on this, please?
    Allahu A'alam

The hadith is comparing different parts of the Quran to the previous revelations to those who can't read Arabic.
