I remember as a teenager many years ago I always wanted an MCM bag. I never did buy one but I still think they are beautiful.

I have several in different colors. I like the old version better. Much thicker canvas and way more textured. The newer ones look textured, but are smooth to the touch. The rivets in the old model I think makes the straps even more secure. Each to his own, but I think they just cut out steps in the newer ones to save money. I do not think it is an improvement.

Oh wow I didn’t realize the difference on the strap when it comes to the stitching or the feet inside of the bag. The d ring on the inside is to clip the pouch but you can definitely Improvise and make it whatever you want it to be 😉. Overall both bags are gorgeous and I hope that the new version wears just as good as the older versions. Thanks for sharing 🤗

Thank you for this comparison. I have other silhouettes of MCM bags. I have been going back and forth on getting the Liz Tote. I really the older version; however, I am thinking 🤔 that the new version may be a lighter carry for me than than the older one. I can definitely can see the difference in the leather. I really appreciate this comparison.

I appreciate your kind words! It’s definitely good to compare side by side. When I read or look at pictures it’s just not the same thing. I really noticed the differences once they were side by side. I like them both. Just like everything else they did cut some corners but I still feel it’s worth the price. TFW🌺

Great comparison! I purchased mine last year on a great sale at Nordstrom Rack. Mine is a combo of yours regarding the changes. It's white with the soft pink leather trim. My handles are like your cognac bag but smooth leather like your black one. Mine has the leather feet on both sides. I have the old style lining but i like both. TFS

I have the red,pink,cognac in the Liz totes and two small backpacks in the black and champagne color. Once I get hold of the black Liz tote and cognac small backpack my collection will be complete. I do prefer the older version.

Not adding the inside feet is them saving money. I like they way they change the interior. It’s a tell sign of which is the newer model.
I agree Sis! It’s little things you don’t notice till later. The feet, the studding on the straps and the strap stitching….are all things you wouldn’t notice unless you are truly looking. It’s like they chose to lessen features or increase price🤷🏽♀️ I still love them both. Glad you like the new interior too. TFW🌺

Great job, I do prefer the Cognac version but the one I had years ago was a better quality than both of these snd the pouch was thickly padded. They should’ve at least kept the Mcm inside stitch. They cut the quality for sure, though still a great bag and pouch. I hope I can still find an older one, should’ve never sold it🤦🏽♀️ Tfs🌸💗🌸

I have the older MCM and it's made so well. Mine has 11inch straps (a plus for me) with top shoulder pads on the strap and it also has a top zipper. LOVE IT

There are leather feet on both. They just didn’t carry the leather feet to the inside on the black. I like them both, but the cognac is still my favorite. TFW🌺
I just got the newer version in black and i was comparing it to my cogac and i just wanted to know if i was tripping or not but is the newer bag more thinner like feels way cheaper than the older version kinda throwing me off and i got mines from the MCM website. The inside bag feels like straight paper, the material is light weight
Hey lady! I purchased both from the MCM website too! I was able to notice slight differences but honestly you will feel they wear the same, still excellent quality but there are some differences so you’re definitely not crazy! I think you will see that you still enjoy it. I’m finding that several luxury brands have raised costs and cut back on some of the premium features. Just glad MCM have kept their prices the same & occasionally send me 10% off coupons. Yea girl you’re not crazy, I’m hoping you keep it and enjoy! TFW🌺

I love the bag!!! The MCM Medium Liz is amazing. You know what I carried her the other week and I was so happy. The next day I wanted to carry less so I put her down. It definitely a versatile bag. I think you probably can find the older one at a department store that carries MCM. The MCM site only carries the new iconic cubic design. I like them both! TFW🌺

@@monie5490 I have the large in cognac. The cubic interior design is only on the medium and small. Carrying the large for every day use… it’s too big hahaha. It’s all up to your preference though but for someone like me who has every intention on wearing it for every day use…. It’s too big so I’m looking to purchase a medium now with the new design.
I have the red and the black they are both identical to your cognac tote. The black is 7 years old and the red is 3 years old. The black is thiner than the black.

Where have I been that I've never even heard of MCM until your videos? Just went and looked at thier website and these are definitely pricey and on par with Coach if not even a bit more.. idk why I've never heard of this brand..

I have the old model in both cognac and black visetos. The black one is in my opinion just a tiny bit thinner and more flimsy. Cognac barely moves anywhere.

So in a years time they’ve cheapened their bags even more- I just bought the black Liz and it’s way cheaper feeling- thinner material for both bag and mini and the changed the zipper pull on the mini to a leather pull which won’t last as long imo 🤷🏼♀️ meanwhile $$$ has gone ⬆️

I just got the blk and mine doesn’t look like that. Where did u order? I got feet inside and rivets on handles n mcm inside.
Directly from MCM. Even on the website, that’s a feature that has been removed. The new iconic cube style doesn’t have the MCM on the inside. It’s crazy because just 2 days prior to me ordering I had the black tote with the same print as the cognac. They no longer sell the older print on the site. I’m pretty sure some of the retail department stores may. I love them both! TFW🌺

You know these companies are switching everything up.I really like MCM though. It’s only my second one.

Hi i’ve been watching videos on this bag for a minute because i recently purchased one from mercari, i really need help authenticating it i have the pink mcm liz reversible and paid 250 on mercari for it including the pouch only difference i can find is that the straps are longer than most of their bags and the logo plate.
instead of the letter starting on the plate it’s on the end of mine and the numbers are in the front, can someone help me authenticate it?? and do some of the bags come like that???
