@@Mike-rw2nh he may want to start leading or already wants to lead a different kind of life and perhaps spend more time with his family, friends or others close to him but if he makes content of his home state then he has noticed that his views go down quite a bit and that his audience expects international content. So for some people the income reason may be something that keeps them from living the way they would like to, actually this is true for so many people. Some content makers get a lot of views from making videos of their lives from the same place, consider Jonna Jinton for example. If Gabriel would do that then his views and perhaps income over time would go down

You’re right no alcohol on the island but they take you to a ship anchored nearby kind of small, you can eat, drink. There is nothing much to do on the island but you can go snorkelling, fishing, diving. It was exactly the same you described 7 yrs back. Guess nothing has changed much!

Not being cooped up at one of those "posh" resorts with all the other "ripped-off" people trying desperately to get their $4k US a day's money's worth, in a confined area. INSANE... ⁉

Yeah the breakfast, even as a Maldivian; is not the best, but I suggest you try a more traditional one! (Ask the restaurant staff for suggestions, mine would be kulhimas w/ plain tortillas with a side of mashuni and some Vegs) It'll fill you up but be ware it could be spicy.
Edit: and for those wondering why the water looks muddy it's because of the weather and rain, otherwise it would be crystal clear. The weather isn't the best at all, the next whole week is said to be very bad. I've postponed my fishing trip atleast 4 times now 🤣
And for any potential future traveller, do bring a good set of Jeans shorts or just tropical shorts with a thick sandal / crocks because you don't want sand all over your clothes and thick rocks and corals to damage your shoe*

Maldivians have many things for breakfast, but somehow strangely they serve this combination you just mentioned (sausage, egg and bread) to foreigners (perhaps they assume foreigners will not like Maldivian food). Unfortunately restaurants do not serve variety of Maldivian food. Its like potato in the world. there are many varieties of potato, but what is exported are only one or two varieties around the world. if you like roshi (flat bread) and curry it is available or one other breakfast food is mashuni and roshi. mashuni is tuna mixed with coconut. it is eaten with roshi (flat bread). Also traditionally we used to eat boiled breadfruit. There are many maldivian food... im not really sure why some restaurants don't serve. many restaurant workers are also not maldivians. pls do ask maldivians you see in hotel or in the island. i think they will be happy to guide you or assist you with information.

There is a restaurant at the bottom of your hotel I think its called Aveli, that was the best food on the island, get the red chicken curry with rice mix it together very good, they had a few other good things I just do not remember, it's been a few years, I think I would also get the red chicken curry, and dip my fries in the red Curry that was very good also, a few places had decent fried rice, in general, the food was OK at best, go to Guraidhoo island, its a smaller island, but it's prettier, stay there one day max because once you explore that island there's not much to do. You could take a boat usually it's a small boat that will bring you there. You could see the liquor boat from the beach if you look far enough, it's a yacht, we did not go it was big windy waves, I don't think the drink would've gone down very well on a wavy day.
If you're bored you could go swim with the whale sharks, but I'm not sure this is the season. It's known to be one of the best locations to do that.

I’m a subscriber and I watched all your travels very educational, now I always thought the Maldives was only expensive resorts. What is the name of that island in the Maldivies and the name of the hotel you’re staying at for $97 us

Today was spectacular but it's very unpredictable, no way to know what it will be like an hour later. Apparently the monsoon is starting now so it will be rainier through the summer.

The reality of what the tour brochures would describe as paradise. I can cross the Maldives off my bucket list. Baltic beaches are nicer than that.

In next 50 year's, all these islands, will be under water, Maldives will be few first to face the calmity.

The highest elevation in all of the islands is just five meters or seventeen feet. Simultaneously hilarious and scary.

8$ for the tiny breakfast I would not want to eat. It would be easy to escape that prison, just ask Clint Eastwood who played in Escape from Alcatraz.

You are a real trouper, Gabe. Pretty interesting place. That breakfast - not sure I get why they serve hot dogs (unless they are vegan dogs) in a Muslim country where women can't walk around in bikinis. But the women CAN eat dogs for breakfast? Hmmm......

This is filmed with a DJI, link below the video. I also have a Gopro 10 which I use for underwater shots.

@@GabrielTravelerVideos dji action 2? I am undecided between that one, and go pro 10, but the problem with this later one everybody talks about is the overheat and random shutdowns.. Do you notice that also?

I haven't used the DJI Action 2 yet but I really don't like the looks of it, looks super complicated to use. I recommend the DJI Action 1. I haven't had major problems with the Gopro 10 shutting down or overheating so it's a good option as well. But I prefer the DJI for a bunch of reasons.
