      Why has no one showed the Quad Cortex loading one of the Archetype plugins? Supposedly it's possible, but I don't see anyone doing it.
      I'd really like to see something like Archetype: Nolly running on Quad Cortex. Does it use the graphics from the VST plugin? Is it just a weird, bare thing just like everything else in QC? (the plugin's are gorgeous-looking, but the QC has a very simple interface approach)

      It's a huge step down compared to the Kemper Stage. I have both. The Quad Cortex has 3 separate switching modes, all of them shitty. It doesn't matter how much power you have under the hood if you can't effectively control it on stage.

    • @JJJohnsom
      @JJJohnsom Pƙed 2 lety +3

      @@EricTetz I have the Kemper power rack and it’s a huge step up. If it sounds shitty it could be user error. It sounds and feels great. It’s only as good as you are at tweaking it. And I don’t spend much time tweaking. More time playing. But if the Kemper is your thing than it’s your thing.

      Same here. Been playing old Marshalls & Fenders, Vox, Boogie, Orange, Matchless and Hiwatt for close to 30 years. This is the first modeler unit I'm particularly interested in trying. These things always seem to fall apart when I hear them in real life, so...we'll see. I remain skeptical, because no one bothers to try to reproduce what I consider to be great guitar tones in these reviews. Let's hear the sound of Brian May's AC30, or Malcom Young's Super Bass, or SRV's Fender Blackface. I want to hear a really dynamic clean/crunch tone that shows response to pick attack and the guitar volume knob. Then I'm sold.

Rock, blues, pop, funk RnB etc. high gain, medium gain,, low gain, clean. Takes external pedals great. Almost didn’t get it because I haven’t liked the “other big guys” but this is great and tbh it’s fun not annoying to deal with.

      For years I struggled with the SPDIF on my AXE-FX. I was convinced that eliminating one D-A-D cycle was better than using analogs. But then I discovered a way to use the Analog outs from my AXEFX to my Apollo but kept the SPFIF for the unprocessed signal. There is then a way to use SPDIF to reamp the AXEFX. Which ever way you go, an SPDIF is very valuable. However, I’m not a fan of Optical as they often work themselves out when you’re doing any sort of wiring behind the rack. RCA jacks are preferable for me.

    Just saying - I want the QC
 it will be a great unit - pluses - Touch Screen - Capture - Mic placement - cool buttons/knobs -
    But the paths looooook very familiar and I’d say that particular unit has about 5 years on it - I also can use its joystick to build a preset in just about as fas as I could on a touch screen
    I do want one but I’m not unhappy with my current squeeze- the Helix Rack

    What are you getting the sound from here Mitch. Is it a mic up FRFR or direct to the computer?

    • @sweetwater
      @sweetwater  Pƙed 3 lety +2

      The sound you’re hearing in the video was recorded directly into PreSonus Studio One on my MacBook, using the Quad Cortex USB connection as the audio interface. No EQ or processing was applied to the recording. I monitored via FRFR speakers for me to hear the sound while shooting the video.
      Thanks for watching, hope this helps!

    I think to turn a block off you can also double tap the icon which saves having to go in a click on Bypass.

    Is there less latency using this as an interface via USB than there is when plugging it into an existing interface? I just got mine and I’m plugging in to my avid interface. Even using a clean with no effects are having latency, worse with effects, most noticeable when playing 16th notes. It’s tolerable, but if using it as the main interface via usb makes that big of of difference then I curious. I’ve not had the chance to try it yet. Oh yeah, another weird thing, is that there is more latency using a completely clean tone with not effects than there is playing with heavy gain.

    Great video guys! Question! What if want to put down my guitar for a minute and use QC as an audio interface and just listen to music from my Macbook via Spotify, Apple Music or on youtube? Can I do that? Is it just a matter of keeping it connected to my mac via USB, having monitors connected to the two XLR outputs and having the QC turned on?

      @sweetwater  Pƙed rokem

      Hey, Sergej! Great question, the Quad Cortex acts as a fully functioning USB interface, so it can send audio in and out. You can use it as a playback device when you’re not playing guitar to stream audio from your computer to your studio monitors. You can do that while playing, too, if you want to use it to play along to music.
      I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.

      @@sweetwater So I just got my QC, as far as tones go, it's fantastic, but I want to use it to play along to music, when I plug it into my PC, it sounds as if the music is both quiet and low fidelity if that makes sense. If I connect to my iPhone, I won't get anything at all. Any tips on what to do?

    • @sweetwater
      @sweetwater  Pƙed rokem

      @@xMIRAKx Hi, Mirak. There are several different ways to accomplish what you’re describing. The most simplest one would be to connect the Quad Cortex to your computer via USB and select it as your sound card so that music playback from the computer is routed directly to it. You could then use headphones or speakers connected to the outputs of the Quad Cortex.
      Thanks for your interest!

    Can we get a change to the release date estimation on the site. It changes every time I look and if Neural can't pull it together to meet your deadline, it only makes SW look bad too. I'm wondering when confidence will change to mid April.
    Edit: Now it.actually says mid April.
