    P938 with Houge grips is my daily carry for the last 5 years. Great little gun for sure. Put 1,000s of rounds through it and never a fail. Very accurate for a smaller gun. America is circling the drain so we must... **Keep America 2A Strong** its our only chance...

    Anyone who purchases this firearm needs to immediately disassemble it, clean it, and at the very least, take the 2 piece guide rod out. Disassemble the guide rod and put red loctite on the threads. Let it cure overnight, then reassemble. If you do not do this, you are going to eventually have a problem that could cost you your life. I highly recommend replacing the 2 piece guide rod with a new 1 piece unit from Stainless Steel Guiderods. My first trip to the range with the 938 was embarrassing to say the least. FTF and FTE and guide rod launching. Loctite on the guiderod threads will do the trick but just replace it with a 1 piece and then you’ll never have to worry about. Mine’s been trouble free ever since the upgrade, and it is a beautifully made pistol, other than this one horrid glitch.

    Love the P938 Legion, I've had no issues. The reason it looks green, the original Legion gray coating didn't hold up well. So they went with a cerekote type coating that looks green. I have Legions in boat coating.

      I've been trying to get solid information on the Strength of the P938 for "PLUS P" ammo. Dealer said he personally wouldn't recommend it, and I can't find any statement on SigSauer website or in my owners manual. 👀😳 Mine is a Custom Shop SAS Edition with wooden grip panels and SigLite tritium front and rear factory Sights. I was able to obtain a Sig factory threaded barrel from Midway USA, and now having the slide custom milled for a Sig Romeo Zero Red dot direct mount w/o adapter plate.
      But I'm not wanting to damage it with +P rounds if it isn't capable of handling those!

    The upgrades from a regular 938 are it has a metal tigger pad and a metal magwell, and you have to use legion magazines.
    But overall a good upgrade from a standard 938..

    Beautiful gun - I like the color, the metal, the fine serrations on various parts. I like the lack of a rail. The solution is to buy two: one as a shooter and concealed carry, one for occasional plinking.

    It's good to meet a fellow left-handed shooter. I have wanted 938 I saw another CZcams review about 2 years ago. Recently I found a used one that was near mint, so I snapped it up. Mine is not the legion. It is probably my favorite gun now and the one I carry because it seems easier to conceal than my old carry gun (365xl). I also love it. You are right the 938 trigger is awesome. I'm considering a threaded barrel and a compensator. I do see a flash😅 when I shoot it occasionally. Also it should help with recoil, etc. But, that's about a $260 investment. 😊 Also, I found a good price on the light I want but can't find a holster to work with it. Oh, the joys of concealed carry.😂😅 BTW, great video. I gave you a 👍 and a follow. I can't believe I couldn't find a "follow" emoji. 😊

    So, I have one of these and it is my EDC. The safety is stiff until you actuate it a little, I spent about a week while watching tv just flipping it back and forth and its now smooth as butter. Also a lefty, the mag release is not reversible. TAGG you think that is hard to strip and clean, lol you ain't seen nothing till you try to strip and put back to together a Ruger mark III. Just don't take the spring out, it really doesn't get dirty up there a couple of drops of oil every so often is enough . ✌

    Very good review. FYI the 938 is very similar in size to the Ruger LCP, which I own, and is very easy to put in a pocket holster. It is truly a micro. The Sig 365, which I also own is really not the same size and it is just large enough to be on the border line for a pocket holster. You can do it depnding on the size of the pocket and putting it in your pocket seems pretty easy. Gettng it out? Not so much. But possible. I do not own the 938, but I have one that is on order. They are not easy to find here. My reason for that over the LCP is the 9MM over 380 Issue.

    I had this same g p938 legion. My purpose was for CCW. A general rule I follow with any defensive g is to do a minimum 500 round break-in usually in one range visit. My p938 almost made it to five hundred rounds on the first range visit before the guide rod flew out of the front of the g. This was after several failure to feed and failure to extract after about 350 rounds. Long story short I sent this G back to sig on this occasion and three more times after it failed again and again. During the subsequent range visits this g wouldn’t even make it to 100 round before the issues stated above would occur. Sig eventually let me return the g to them and they replaced it with a p320 no charge. Up to you what you do but if you are going to use it as a defensive carry I would highly recommend putting at least a 1000 rounds through it before trusting it with your life…. Just a recommendation. I also wouldn’t carry a p320 unless it had a manual safety but that’s another discussion. Obviously the issues I mentioned above especially the guide rod flying out of the front of the g would permanently render someone without a backup g defenseless so not good in an emergency.
    I hope this helps

      @TheArkansasGunGuy  Před rokem +2

      Holy buckets - that’s awful!!! I use them 365xl (with manual safety) for my EDC and dk the same at the range - ALWAYS get rounds in that gun. P938 does get less rounds than some of my others but will keep pushing rounds through it !! Thank you so much for the info AND for watching!!

    My P938 Legion is at my FFL right now, waiting for them to call me for pickup. I do own a P365 as well as a Kimber Micro 380. The kimber micro 380 is a great shooter, and that's what drew me to the 9mm but I do prefer Sig. The 365 is a great carry and absolutely disappears when carried, but I am not a huge fan of the trigger. I much prefer single action crisp triggers with manual safeties. So my plan is to carry the P938 as my primary 9mm carry. The p365 has been upgraded with a Wilson Combat XL Grip and 12 round mag. It will now be my compact goto for extra capacity. I am really looking forward to getting mine, hoping the FFL calls me tomorrow. I can't wait for first shots as I'll be taking the 365 to compare.

    • @gkott78
      @gkott78 Před 4 měsíci +1

      @michaelstjohn6086 well I sold it rather quickly. First trip to the range and the 2 piece guide rod came unscrewed and ejected out the front. Sig replaced it under warranty with another 2 piece guide rod. I didn't trust it so I traded it in after repair. I put maybe 50 rounds through it. It was overly snappy and uncomfortable. Still using the 365.

    I thought the P938 would be “snappy” and not very accurate, due to its small size. I was astounded: it shoots as accurately as a much larger pistol, and is such a soft-shooting pistol, I just had to keep shooting it. I wish that it had come optic-ready, but that can be done.
    The guide spring is annoying, even with the dowel rod technique.

    I think it would be a good addition to my carry gun. That is my Zastava M70AA. Tokarev, 1911, and Colt Mustang Clones are very similar. The 938 is basically a clone of the Colt Mustang.

      @TheArkansasGunGuy get the M70A, M70AA, M88, or the M88A. These are in 9mm. I would say the M70AA because it's the most up to date Tokarev. It has a capacity of 9+1, and you can carry the same ammo for it. I use a belly band holster, and it's comfortable to carry. They have left-handed tokarev iwb/owb holster options, and there's a bellyband holser that uses iwb holsters on it. I would love to get the 938 as a backup or summertime carry, but my full sized tokarev is still my summertime carry. 2 guns, one caliber. As of now, my secondary is a bersa thunder 380cc. It's a good gun, but in the future, I would like to carry a gun similar in design to my Tokarev. The largest hurdle is the location of the manual safety. Mine is on the slide, but it would work in time. It's because they're both SAO, hammer fired, single stack, 9mm, and have similar take downs.

    I never found a P938 Legion in Germany. I do have a P226 Legion though. I am exactly on that point of deciding to pick the practicality of P365 or the style of the p938 ( for sporting reasons, naturally, my dear censor) (see below)
    Before you ask, Germany is not as free as the US. Not at all. The number of guns one is allowed to have is really restricted, almost nothing (that after a lengthy and costly process that take more than one year). As a sport shooter, only two handguns are allowed. To have more than 2 you have to prove you are a frequent competitor and that you need it for competition. No guns are allowed for self-defense.

    I have a 938 non-Legion version and I’m just curious to know if the trigger on the Legion is better than the trigger on the standard version. It was a nice guy and I enjoyed it but the trigger was a bit heavy for a 1911 style. I guess they do that because it’s a carry gun but it has a safety so I would rather have a nicer trigger and learn how to use the safety and my battery of Arms. Anyway that is a very nice looking good I understand why you don’t wanna scratch it up

    I've had mine for 8 years now, and after somewhere around 3k rounds, it's started to rather consistently jam. Every 50 or so rounds, it will start jamming, which is...really concerning. I love the gun, and still carry it daily, but it's starting to concern me. Recently heard that swapping to the kimber micro 9 rounds will fix jamming, so I'm hoping that will fix my issue. If it doesn't, I might have to buy something new. The idea of switching sucks, because I adore my P938. First gun I bought myself and owned. But jamming is dangerous business, and they're bad jams, too. It no longer reliably chambers, instead wedging the bullets between the magwell and the barrel in basically the worst conceivable position. Hard as hell to clear.

      I think Sig has a lifetime guarantee? Maybe worth checking with them. Definitely hate to hear that. But sure do appreciate you sharing with everyone - and appreciate you watching!!

      I loved the video, and it's nice to see more people talking about it. The only times I hear about it in passing are people trashing on Sig in general. It's difficult to ship guns in my state, even with it being very safely within the bounds of legality for shipping specifically. I'm less worried about it going out, more so about it coming back. Still, thank you for mentioning it all the same! It's a solid last resort if need be, because I'm certainly not getting rid of it! The video was great, thanks for taking the time to respond!
