Why would someone be a fan of LG. Screen problems, bootloops, performance issues. Theu have decent phones but very poor quality control.

neco 7 I had Lg G2,3,4,5 SE and V20. My current phone is the pixel 2 XL and thank God for google' s software because the hardware is not worth the price. The Screen sucks when compared to my Note 8. Guess what. LG made the Pixel 2 XL

dvddmc look at design of your v10 and how much wasted spAce there is especially with 2nd screen. Its also a massive phone. G7 would be a solid upgrade.
CDXXIX some people prefer the hand feel of a larger phone. My v30 feels good but the 10 feels better.

There's one thing I'm missing in every comparison - the quality of the microphones. The V30 should be really good in this area with the possibility to record nice sounding concert videos. Is it the same with G7? On your video there seems to be a difference in favour of the V30.. Thank you.

So that approximately +25% Antutu score translates to a fraction of a second faster booting time in games? Due the asking price of the G7 the v30 seems by far the better buy IMHO.

If you care about sound, you use headphones to take advantage of the quad DAC, not the crappy speakers. The G7 seems to have louder and likely better speakers, but is nowhere close to audiophile quality.

Im comfused about dac on both phones is they really same? Some people say that v30 has much better audio quality.

Just bought the G7 second hand, mint condition for only 270€ and V30s for 309. I used to have the original V30 and I loved that phone man.. I wanted the extra 6gb ram and 128gb but G7 is so fast. Cant really decide which one to take back, I think i will keep the G7. Hard decision lol.. I'll wait for second hand v40 or G8 instead.

G7 sound that loud ONLY ON THE TABLE... You should take them both in hand and test also this way too because not all the time we carry a table with us. The surface of the phone (g7) transfer sound vibration to the table and make this resonate în tune with the sound. Boombox sound booster.

G7 a beautiful device. But I am a fan of the V series, not sure why. Just like them better. Still rocking the V20, but gonna hold off and get the V40. 😁

I never understand why lg went with 3000mah battery in g7 the only concern for anyone who buy this phone s the battery .
Battery is not bad at all, for normal user it survives through the day.
The speaker of the g7 is louder when you have earphones or headphones when watching this.
The G7 was faster in most parts, but the V30 held up very close and was surprisingly faster in several parts and in booting up. The G7's speaker does sound louder.

These videos do not do the ThinQ speaker(s) justice. I hesitantly returned my S9+ and purchased the ThinQ, the ThinQ hands down has the best sounding speaker(s). From I've learned the down firing speaker IS NOT the only speaker. It seems that somehow LG has managed to put at least one other speaker towards the back of the device. If you cover the down firing speaker when listening to music you will notice. And the bass, no other phone has the bass the ThinQ has. In my opinon the ThinQ has true surround sound on a smartphone. I am very satisfied with the ThinQ.

How is the always on display on the g7?? Does the whole screen backlight turn on in a black screen?
Unless something better comes to T-Mo, I'll be getting the G7 to replace the G6. The speaker, display, cameras and processor upgrades are enough to sway me. And 64Gb storage. Even with an SD card, this 32Gb on the G6 just isn't cutting it.
For me the narrower filed of view (107°) on the G7 wide angle lens is a deal breaker, what's the point if you keep narrowing down the viewing angle when it supposed to be a wide angle lens, the 120° field of view on the V30 is the sweetest spot for an ultra wide angle camera. I see no distortion from it.
And the notch, the top and bottom bezel is a little thicker on the G7 (when you hide the notch), and the display aspect ratio is even longer, OMG, an eyesore to look at that slim footprint. V30 looks perfectly balanced overall.

I've been an LG fan for about 6 years now, but the aspect ratio on their latest flagship phones are getting out of hand. I have the LG V30+ and most of my apps are cut off at the top and bottom in landscape mode because the screen is so long and narrow. It looks like the screen size for the G7 is even narrower. 😞
I bought a lightly used sprint LG V30+ on ebay a couple weeks ago with a father's day discount code for $260 shipped. I quickly converted it to open market and rooted it, and now it's running beautifully on t-mobile. V30 blows the G7 out of the water based on value alone since you can get them so cheap now. The G7 is only a minor upgrade in some areas (processor), and a notable downgrade in others (screen). It's too bad LG value sinks like a rock bc V30 was probably the best phone of 2017. But it's great for those looking for a deal!

well the notch is physical so on most apps like youtube you can pinch to zoom in or out and choose for the video to go past the notch area or not

I heard the g7 had better options and cusyomizations in its dac software compared to the v30, wondering of that's true or not.
Venom415 doesn't mean it's better quality. It's the same quality dac, the only difference is they include dts:X surround sound for a sorta spatial listening experience. If you want that you can always use a 3D audio app

Most of the added presets was for the spatial audio, it's still not manual tuning which would've been nicer. You aren't missing much if you have the v30 to the g7. Both default at 4gbs of ram and have almost equal gaming performance, 4gbs is kinda low they should've launched it standard with 6gbs.
I think the V30 might get the DTS thing in the 8.1 or 9 update

Both phones have nice cameras but they are letting in too much light (especially on the G7) and the shots are over-exposed. Compare the video with the main camera on the G7 with the video using wide-angle (the latter not allowing as much light in).
I can't be the only one that doesn't like how large their phones are though... like why are ALL their flagships ginormous

at the end of the day price dictates my decision... I have the V30+ w/the 8.0 Oreo. The G7's external speaker does sound better but it's speed by milliseconds does not impress me. If I didn't have the V30 I probably would get this phone....but I do and this video does not persuade me otherwise. Great comparison though...:)
Got G7 for 270€ and also bought V30s for 309€. Had V30 before and loved it, but sold it and tried Essential Phone, now I wanna go back to LG. Miss quad dac, wide angle cam.. But which to choose between G7 and V30. So hard haha!

I do! my ears are damaged so I cannot use earbuds or headphones, so the speaker on the phone is one of the most important things to me. Wow, there was a huge difference in sound on V30, but the camera seemed better on G7. I don't know which to buy...
G7 is displaying more in most cases that it loses to the v30. As long as web page loads extras compared to the v30 it will be slower. kinda like facebook in desktop mode without facebook app. If it has to load in a zoomed back like 50% instead of 150% zoom mode it will be slower.
Can you play Hi Rez audio files (192KHz/24bit) on the G7 and V30?? Also can just normal (16/44) WAV files be played on both models?

How do you have animated home button on the V30? I can't do it on mine (on Oreo).
By the way the G7 is good, but the v30 has a way better look, the G7 has weird proportions, big botton bezel, and a notch, and these things don't mix (for comparison the OP6 looks way better even with the notch). The G7 also has a narrower FOV on the secondary camera which I don't understand. Otherwise great phone, and you can probaly get it dirt cheap in about a few months (here the v30 lost 50% of it's value in 3 months, glad I bought it now).
V30 in my country costs 499, so tempted to buying at that price. I know the G7 is better, but the price is what matters to me. I use headphones most of the time and I am not an audiophile. Just want something that is clear and loud enough for me to hear.
