I've never once had a problem passing a Northern Irish note anywhere in Great Britain.

@@lr1002 I'm sure. I wouldn't just hand them the note. I would say I've got a Northern Irish note is that okay? Can never recall anyone saying no. Indeed all I ever got was curiosity, especially with plastic notes.
