in college during the 70's at the Caravan in San Diego I went to see Gabor Szabo.
I was young and bold (and you know...) I sat down next to him while he was alone in a booth in the bar. I really cannot remember much past me sitting down. I am certain I opened with a lame question as to the skill level of Django. His performance was creepy and fascinating all at once.
Wow. What a badass song!
Mindblowing.
I think I still have this album
Wow.. what an incredible ensemble of talent. Does not get better than this.
Wow, I just learned of Gabor... and the musicians on this album, holy crap, it's a list of music icons...

Bello, bello, bellissimo. Siete bravissimi!
This is one of the most captivating songs I've ever heard.
you got it buddy
SONG - a short poem or other set of words set to music or meant to be sung.
Ok. So by definition it's not technically a "song". I'll by that. How bout this. This is one of the most mesmerizing instrumental compositions to ever grace the ampulla of my semicircular inner ear canal.
Sorry, I'll BUY that. Such terrible proof reading on my part.
The base of the composition "A csitári hegyek alatt" Hungarian folk song. It was collected by Zoltán Kodály in Alsócsitár, a small village from a local singer in 1914. In those years, Zoltán Kodály or Béla Bartók travelled from town to town looking for the local singers and musicians and recorded tons of music from them to keep Hungarian music alive and to understand how they made and composed it. Respecting the original and giving in his own ideas also... now that's art.
Valóban csodálatos, ahogy a korábbi hozzászólók is méltatják. A klasszikus jazz hagyományainak is megfelel feszes ritmusával és színes dallamvilágával, mégis nagyon eredeti, újszerű kompozíció.
Mivel Szabó Gábor már 35 éve meghalt, természetesen a számot kora újszerű kompozícójának értettem. A készítés évét nem tudtam.
to you my friend.....i read something like this my eyes get teary

Mr. Michal Urbaniak videos led me 2 this. thank u universe
I heart Gabor Szabo
Thank you musicians for this amazing moments from 00:01-09:17
My older brother turned me on to him in the mid 60's, in Oklahoma of all places.
lucky man ! That should have been a great experience .
Give "The Lady in the Moon" a listen. Blows me away. Every time.
This is true mastery.
Csodálatos !
This is great stuff.
floating
'72 a good year for Szabo funk!
Wau! Listening this piece for the first time, I realize the similarities with a Finnish 90's psychedelia band called Kingston Wall. They actually have a song very alike, can't just remember the name.
Everybody wets their pants over his Dreams LP, but this one is far more captivating, and tenth of the price
fearless use of punctuation.

About 50 of those 89.183 views are me on repeat.
based on a Hungarian folk song and Kodály...a csitári hegyek alatt...under the mountains of Csitár....
A nice rendition of this folk song for those who haven't heard that before: czcams.com/video/eBbXrr1bTEs/video.html

83 Éves lenne!!!Ezt hagyta a Magyiknak!!!
prelude: A csitári hegyek alatt
santana jó tanítványa volt...
de santana mindig mondta Gavó Szavó.)))
George Benson bezzeg erősen hallgatott! :(
sampled by OC Times up !
Wow, fantastic... it inspired me to write a song lyric/poem... nice to see someone uploading stuff by a real musician... and a fellow Magyar (well I am half Magyar/half English)... check my own stuff sometime if you have time... very different but I do some jazz improv as well which I will try to put up eventually!
Where can I get this album. It's not available in original form in Itunes?
google him on Discogs.com lots for sale there
BILLY COBHAM DRUMS PLEASE

öregség is szenvedés, a betegség is szenvedés, a halál is szenvedés,
szenvedés; röviden: minden, ami a léthez köt, szenvedés.Buddha
