  • An unforgettable evening was celebrated by all concerned....the artists, the organizers and the members of the audience.....at Saptaparni Institute, Hyderabad, on October 31st, 2015, when Prince Rama Varma from Kerala, accompanied by his top team of Sri S.R.Vinu, Sri B.Harikumar and Dr.S.Karthick, presented a thematic concert with Telugu songs by various composers from different parts of India, including Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh, gloriously illustrating Varmaji's belief that music and language should be used to Bring people together than to divide. ("Antha Okkate, Manamantha Okkate")
In a hall packed with music lovers, including dozens of small children who were fans of Varmaji's youtube videos, who sat and stood wherever they could, including on the stage, along with the artists, the evening took on an atmosphere of togetherness, harmony and joy, with Varmaji's warmth, simplicity, wit and communicative skills at their best.
Though the smiling faces of the members of the audience are mostly outside the camera...and that was "the best part of the evening" according to Varmaji, I am extremely happy to share these precious videos with you.
This is an extremely pithy folk song by Etla Ramadasa (who composed the Dasavatharam song Petrai Saami Devuda, which I have uploaded earlier, sung by the Perla children) illustrating the difference between the good and the bad, the gross and the subtle, the wise and the stupid and so on.

I love Varmaji’s singing especially Telugu songs. It’s wholistic . The introduction, singing , Bhava and expression, accompanying artists ... there is no Pomp but purity .. there is no Ego , all is humility . There is no complexity. There is only simplicity. All encased by joy and divinity .

I'm a big fan of Prince Rama Varma, he sings soulfully and gives a suitable commentary for each one, which is the best part of his concerts. I wait eagerly for his concerts in Mysore.

Absolutely delightful! A master class in excellence, humility,, team management and humour (so much needed today)! Varma ji has this great ability to present facts/details without making it heavy; never speaking down to the audience! True royal!
