F-36 Kingsnake, American Fighter Jet Replacement for F-16, Begins to be Considered for Development

Can the US Air Force build a plane like the F-36 Kingsnake? Will that happen?
Kingsnakes are North American snakes that can live up to 30 years, which bodes well for the F-36's lifespan. Kingsnakes are so named because they have a habit of eating other snakes-a fitting nickname for the fighter designed to replace the Viper.
Such a jet does not yet exist but thanks to new digital engineering techniques, it could actually enter service before 2030.
So, why is America suddenly starting to consider its development?
